It has now become a lifesaver in keeping the family informed and actively engaged in caring for my mother-in-law. From the shared calendar, to private messaging, to medication management, to secure document storage, and more. It’s the only tool we’ve found that helps our large family,that’s spread across the country, organized. ### 5/5 — This app carried me through one of the hardest seasons of my life *2026-01-07* I spent the last few years caring for my mom while she was living with stage 4 lung cancer. Nothing truly prepares you for how overwhelming caregiving becomes — emotionally, physically, and mentally. Every day felt like a juggling act: driving back and forth for chemotherapy, managing medications, updating advance medical directives, coordinating travel so she could see friends and family, scheduling physical therapy, managing oxygen equipment, dealing with insurance and deductibles, and trying to secure medical appointments months in advance. It was exhausting. And often, it felt very lonely. Caring Village brought calm and clarity into a situation that otherwise felt like constant chaos. The medication management section alone was a godsend — one less thing to keep in my head when I was already running on fumes. Having a shared calendar to coordinate tasks gave structure to days that felt overwhelming, and being able to communicate with the caregiver we hired in the later months — all in one place — made an enormous difference. What mattered most was the peace of mind. Caring Village helped me feel supported, organized, and less alone at a time when everything felt heavy. Caring Village is an excellent app that acts as the central hub for coordinating the care of a loved one. Appointments, meds, advice, health status — everyone in the family (or whomever you specify) can go and check what’s going on by using the Caring Village app. It is also a great place to learn about all the myriad resources available out there because we can’t do it alone. As things progressed with my dad, unfortunately, the time passed where we used it actively. A couple years later we are now caring for our mom, and so we immediately knew where to go. Caring Village keeps us connected. The app is great -- easy to use, and it clearly was built to do the things we need the most. The name is right on -- it does take a Village to care for a family member, particularly as they become ill as a senior. The various doctors, hospitals, EMRs (electronic med records), patient portals, pharmacies, etc. all seem to have their own way of doing things, and if there's one MAJOR lesson I've learned ... it's up to the family to play quarterback. If we don't do it, then it doesn't get done. Caring Village has been a tool that allows us to do that a lot easier, and for me and my 2 brothers to stay connected (the 3 of us are the key members of the village honestly, but docs and other folks are extended village members to us). 5 stars, and thank you Caring Village! ### 3/5 — Buggy *2025-09-13* I’ve been using Caring Village for years and found it quirky but essential. The latest update created a lot of issues. It seems to be made with AI in mind and not well tested. Journal entries take multiple attempts to load and changing repeat events is challenging. The iPhone version looks good but the iPad version is clunky and images don’t load properly. I can’t get the desktop version to even load. There are a lot of good features but this version should have been tested more before release. ### 5/5 — Excellent app!! *2025-09-12* What an amazing app for caregivers! Everything you need all in one place. Reminders for meds, area for tasks and to dos that can be delegated to others, information on proper paperwork to have in place, and even an AI capability to ask pertinent questions regarding care. I love it! What will they think of next? Oh and the support team is very helpful and efficient. Thank you Caring Village team for making our lives easier! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Total scam *2025-11-24* The initial reaction was very positive albeit there were numerous functional issues. But a couple of weeks after inviting members and uploading documents, members reported not being able to access the site. When I as administrator checked, I received notification that I needed to upgrade and pay in order to have more than TWO members, ie administrator plus one. I was never notified that there were any tiers nor restrictions on use. Now all the uploaded documents have disappeared and the work that all of us contributed is gone. **Developer response:** I am so sorry you missed the free preview emails that get sent after sign-up. Your documents are still safe and secure and you will always be able to use Caring Village for free with one additional member. We will reach out to you separately to assist however we can. ### 1/5 — Want this to work!! *2025-10-27, version 2.0.2* Really want this one to work, has almost all the features I’m looking for. Most disappointing is how poorly the calendar (doesn’t) work. I am unable to sign up due to the interface blocking everything with the keyboard. As soon as I try to enter my information the keyboard covers the screen and it’s impossible to hide the keyboard in order to enter the next required info, email, first and last name, password… etc. looks like a good idea but hey… update it to work with current Apple iOS? ### 1/5 — Buggy for iPhone *2022-03-31, version 1.6.9* Couldn't copy paste secure password in when creating account. Couldn't choose time zone when creating "village" account. Since I couldn't move forward and my xword wasn't secure enough (was going try to change once in app), I deleted and gave up. ### 1/5 — Buggy *2019-12-15* Calendar sync is super buggy. Repeats some multiple times and doesn’t show others. Creates false sense of visibility. Notifications are also unclear. ### 1/5 — Impossible to use *2019-03-13, version 1.5.1* I downloaded this app in preparation for surgery. I sent the appropriate links to my friends and family. No one of them was able to use it. Most people couldn’t even sign in and when they could the calendar/scheduling function was a total fail. Their customer service is also pretty nonexistent. I do not recommend it. ### 1/5 — Great but I wish it had 2 more features *2019-01-19, version 1.5.1* This is a great app for the whole family to help my grandpa. I wish it kept pending volunteer requests on the dashboard and while you can have repeating events you can’t have more than one person sign up. For example, we have a recurring event to take him to the store. It would be great to be given the option to claim one or all recurring events. Schedules, medications, and updates are all centralized so you’re not chasing texts, emails, or trying to remember who said what. It’s simple to use, which matters when the last thing you need is another complicated system. What’s made the biggest difference for us is staying connected as a family. We have people in different states, and this keeps everyone in the loop without constant check-ins or confusion. This site has everything we need and is so simple to use on your laptop, iPad or phone. The journal feature allows each of us to capture with our visits or calls with our parents to share with the family current health issues or follow up from doctor’s appointments. It’s so much better than just texting each other. We also use the Calendar feature to track appointments so that one of us can join them in person or on a call to make sure we capture all the notes for reference. The ability to upload documents and maintain all the information on each of their various Drs makes it really easy for us to coordinate. Most importantly, the team at Caring Village, particularly Linda, has been amazingly responsive whenever we needed clarify a process or make suggestions for improvements.
