## What is Carnegie Learning eBook?

"The Carnegie Learning math textbooks, available here in a convenient eBook format, provide opportunities for students to explain their reasoning as they construct and interpret mathematical models. By engaging with a variety of real-world and mathematical problems, students are able to build on prior knowledge and intuition as they develop conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.

Our math student textbooks were intentionally designed to create mathematical thinkers who are active learners and active participants in class. As the primary classroom resource, the student text is a record of students’ thinking, reasoning, and problem solving.

With our math textbooks (here in eBook format) and blended learning solutions, the classroom looks different. As part of the process, students share their own ideas, listen to others, and then work together. This is how our Math Solution helps develop 21st century skills alongside the math content, which research shows us is a more effective path to deeper conceptual understanding.

Keep an eye out for important textbook features! The Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMP) are woven through every page, lesson, and activity in our texts. Worked examples are included, as research shows that learning is best supported with a mix of problem solving and worked examples. At the conclusion of each lesson, students demonstrate what they learned through exit tickets, graphic organizers, or writing tasks. And, there’s more! Ask us about our math textbooks and solutions for middle school and high school."

### 1/5 — MATHia.

*2026-03-08, version 1.0.3*

If I could write the word “hate” on every single atom of the observable universe it would not compare to a billionth on how much I HATE Mathia.

### 1/5 — It dosent show all the pages of the books

Horrible 😟

### 1/5 — Not good fog

*2025-02-20, version 1.0.3*

### 1/5 — Tiring.

Educators and/or parents please do not use this app. Coming from a unbiased standpoint as a student without the “all homework=bad” point of view, this app is just awful. The lessons take hours to complete. There’s a variety of different lessons that can be assigned, within these lessons there’s multiple “stats” you must fill up to complete the level, each stat accounts for a different part of the problem and it can take 10 or more problems to fill up one stat. However, if you make a mistake these stats will completely start over. In the current workspace I’m on, there’s 8 stats I must fill up but their can be more. There’s little to no explanation on what you’re supposed to do, so often times I just kind of memorize the patterns within each problem without actually understanding the math or reasoning behind it. While there is a “step by step” option, the explanations are often extremely confusing and worded weird. The actual app itself is extremely disengaging with dull colors, boring mechanics, and like I previously stated, over complicated, (but somehow also very surface level) explanations of the concepts your child is learning. After I’m done with the workspaces I find myself with no new knowledge or understandings of math, which is really disappointing because I love to learn. So while I could be doing something actually useful to me, I’m stuck doing repetitive lessons. I’m already not the best at math, but these lessons if anything just confuse me more. Another thing I noticed is a lot of the things they teach are completely irrelevant to what my teacher is talking about in class, which may not be the apps fault but I figure I should bring it up anyways. For reference, I am a seventh grader, a lot of the things in Carnegie seem a lot more advanced and difficult then we’re actually learning. There’s no reason these should be more difficult, I wouldn’t be assigned more difficult lessons because to be completely honest, I have a D in math, and am in a standard class, so there’s no way I could be moved on to more advanced subjects. If you made it this far I’m begging you, there are far more better programs to teach your children. If anything this program will just teach your students or children to resent math.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2023-06-08, version 1.0.3*

Won’t let me log in
Do not get the app

### 1/5 — Very bad

*2023-05-10, version 1.0.3*

Doesn’t let me login. I want to do my homework but can’t. I beee this app to be updated or a new app to be made

### 1/5 — Cancel Mathia Boys

*2021-12-02, version 1.0.3*

Plsss

### 1/5 — Can’t Log in - please read Carnegie

*2021-09-06, version 1.0.3*

This would be a wonderful app if I could log into it with my username and password that I use on the website on my desktop. Is this because my organization does not pay for mobile support? is mobile support extra? just curious I would love to be able to continue to work while I am away from my school and my computer

### 1/5 — Never letting me login

*2021-09-02, version 1.0.3*

Never letting me login

### 1/5 — Bad

*2021-05-06, version 1.0.3*

The never ending questions take me at least 1 day to do each. With a no mercy system, you can literaly be sitting there doing one assignment for hours because to finish you need to fill up each bar. The bars are connected to certain parts of the problem, and if you get that part right it fills it up ( a little, usually have to get it right 10 times to get it right.)but you can be completely done with everything except a simple little part of a problem that just wont show up, making you sit there for hours. Then, on top of that, if you get it wrong, it will make the bar go down. I’ve had many cases where I’ve been very close to finishing, only to be set back hours because of a miss click. The never ending problems are terrible. The way the app teaches is even worst. When I’m beginning a subject in it, it talks in a way I STILL can’t figure out even after I’m done with that subject, (with a very good understanding on the subject too) it talks in a college grade manner. I’m in advanced English and I’m doing great in math, but when ever I hop on mathia it brings me down, I can’t understand a thing and if anything does teach me anything. I’ll have a basic understanding on something mathia completly destroys that.
