This app is incredibly useful for connecting people looking to sell their unused items with those looking to buy them at a discount. However, its downside is that it can't send detailed product videos to buyers. Transaction security is also somewhat less secure, as there's a risk the seller won't ship the item after receiving the payment.

Listed a vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy 25. Buyer ignored the app’s own halfway meeting point clause, demanded I travel to her location, then became verbally abusive when I declined and wouldn’t accept her lowball offer. Carousell has no active moderation or seller protection — bad faith buyers face zero consequences. The platform’s own NDA meeting point policy is unenforceable and meaningless. Would not recommend for high value vintage items.

when open the app, many useless adds opens before actual Carousell adds open. because of that the user experience becomes poor. because i get the feeling of going to a spam site immediately i touch the app. those google adds over full screen when opening the app should be removed

I recently encountered two scammers pretending to be buyers. They contacted me about my listing and then tried to trick me into clicking an external payment link to “receive payment.” This is a very obvious scam, yet it seems extremely common on Carousell.

Scammers can easily create accounts, message sellers, and send fake payment links. If a seller isn’t careful, they could lose money or personal information (I almost lost all my money in my bank account!)

Carousell seriously needs to do more to prevent this type of fraud. There should be stronger monitoring of suspicious messages and better warnings to protect users. Right now it feels like scammers are everywhere and sellers are left to deal with it themselves.

When I first started using Carousell it was a much better experience but now it’s clear the app is there to make money, the benefits to people trying to buy and sell are secondary. First Carousell removed the tracker of seller responsiveness. This was a big mistake. Previously if a seller was listed as unresponsive one wouldn’t bother trying to do business with them. Now there’s no way no know so the amount of time I’ve wasted with unresponsive sellers is staggering. However this is good for Carousell’s bottom line as people spend more time on the app and see more ads. Second the term “Professional Seller” is misleading yet that is always what comes up first on searches because they pay to have their listings promoted. Many of them are scammers, you make an offer or ask a question and get an auto-reply asking for direct payment. Often they will list items that aren’t available just to get you on their page and only then tell you to cancel your order. As for customer service, forget it. I’ve made many reports about suspicious activity (some of it extremely obvious scams) and nothing has ever come of any of it. In my opinion Carousell has placed profit over safety and that’s why I’m almost ready to give up on this app. Such a shame because it used to be decent but now I maybe get 1 positive transaction out of every 10 attempts and have basically given up trying to use it.

### 1/5 — Got insulted and got a warning by carousel

A customer bought a defected product from someone else and then came on to MY platform , where I was offering a similar item and started taking out her anger on me instead. They were rude , entitled , demanding and flat out insulting me at one point .  I defended myself and told her I’m not selling to her because of her behavior , blocked and reported her .  Carousell gave ME the warning instead as I was suppose to just be spit on .  I have to actively pay for membership just to post my items and push advertising bc of their new regulations - I don’t mind that part. 

But why are you not protecting your sellers and only protecting buyers? Apparently verbal abuse is totally fine when the buyer does it but if a seller calls them out for it and flat out says I’m not selling to you THATS the offensive part. SMH.  

This is why I’m moving off your app slowly.  Not to mention sales arnt even being made now adays ever since the restructuring, now apparently I have to take verbal abuse too to qualify as a seller here !

Have been a user well over a decade.   Have over 150 all 5 stars review.  Had asked buyers of my items to use the Buy button even when it charges a fee, as I wish to comply with the rules.  Recently SPX was added as a delivery option which forces sellers to pay delivery fees if non-SPX was used as delivery method, despite selecting Buyers to pay delivery fee.  This change was NOT notified in advanced but after implementation.    Before the notice, had raised a query as I (seller) was charged a delivery fee.  Was informed by Support team to cancel the order.
I did as told and now my account’s Buy button was disabled due to the cancellation.    I raised this repeatedly via email and my emails were ignored and nobody re-activate back my Buy button option.   So basically given the wrong information, obeyed what Carousell support told me to do, which now caused an issue nobody wants to answer, causing me to be unable to sell with delivery.   Extremely irresponsible!!!
