## What is CarPilot Drive?

CarPilot is a smart driving dashboard for the time you spend behind the wheel, with warnings for published enforcement points in Taiwan.

Mount your iPhone and see speed, heading, smoothness, g-force, altitude, weather and trip data at a glance — every reading laid out to be read in the moment.

Speed camera and enforcement point warnings (Taiwan only)

While you drive in Taiwan, CarPilot warns you before you reach a published enforcement point:

• Fixed speed cameras
• Red-light cameras
• Junction enforcement cameras
• Average-speed (interval) enforcement sections — entering, your average along it, and leaving
• Designated freeway violation-recording spots

Warnings are shown on screen and spoken aloud. The voice comes through with the screen locked or a navigation app in front, and ducks music rather than talking over it. Keep the on-screen warning and turn the voice off, or turn it all off.

The points come from the open data published by Taiwan's National Police Agency and the municipal police departments under the Open Government Data License, plus our own road-tested positions and directions, so the opposite carriageway stays quiet.

It is a reminder, not a guarantee: the data can be out of date or incomplete, and a road that is not listed is not a road without enforcement. CarPilot exists to help you **stay inside the limit**, not to evade enforcement — always go by the signs and the law in front of you.

Outside Taiwan no enforcement data is available, so nothing is shown and nothing is spoken.

The numbers that matter, at a glance

CarPilot keeps making sense of the GPS and motion data your device already collects:

• Live speed
• Posted limit and over-speed warning
• Heading and bearing
• Ride smoothness
• G-force
• Altitude and climb
• Elapsed time
• Current weather
• GPS status and position

Three dashboard layouts suit the moment — an ordinary road, a long trip, or a track off the tarmac. A quick panel pulls up from the bottom edge while you drive: layout, colours and four switches, one swipe away.

Speed limits and the over-speed warning

CarPilot shows the limit for the stretch you are on, and the figure changes colour when you go past it. You can switch on a spoken warning and choose how far over the limit it waits. Switch it off and the limit keeps showing, it simply stops warning you.

Limits come from public road data covering Taiwan's freeways, expressways and main city roads. Where there is no data, no limit is shown and nothing is warned.

Live traffic on freeways and expressways (Taiwan only)

On a freeway or expressway, CarPilot watches how fast traffic is running a few kilometres ahead and says so when it is slower than where you are — lift off early instead of braking when the lights come into view. The speeds come from the Ministry of Transportation's public 1968 service, and the request carries no position of yours. Switchable in Settings.

Share where you are

During a trip you can hand out a temporary link showing where you are, so the people waiting know roughly how long you will be. The dashboard says so the whole time, you can stop it whenever you like, and it expires when the trip ends, or after 12 hours.

Every drive is worth a second look

When a trip ends, CarPilot turns it into a complete record:

• Smoothness score
• Route travelled
• Distance and time
• Average and top speed
• Total climb
• Peak g-force
• How smoothness changed along the way

So you know not just how long you drove, but how the drive went.

Your trips, filed automatically

CarPilot keeps your past trips, with total distance, total time, the score for each one and the full detail behind it.

Safety notice

Speed, position, heading, limits, enforcement points, weather, attitude and every other reading CarPilot shows are for reference only, and can be wrong or incomplete. Always defer to road signs, traffic law, your vehicle's own instruments and what you can see, and do not operate your phone while driving.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-07

- No more location prompt the moment you open the app: CarPilot asks after the introduction, when you tap Allow.
- Live location sharing is explained more clearly: no app needed on their side, the link shows where you are and how long until you arrive.
- Report a Problem now goes to support@carpilot.cc.
- Stability and polish.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-06

- Trip cards: share any trip as an image that leads with what stood out — a personal best, time stuck on the freeway, the climb. Take a photo or pick your own, and edit the words.
- Departure check: when you start a trip, CarPilot reads out GPS, the weather and nearby speed cameras in your phone's language. Turn it off or switch it to English in Settings.
- Clearer overspeed warnings: over the limit with a speed camera ahead or inside an average-speed zone, a red speed-limit sign appears at the top right and flashes. The flashing can be turned off in Settings.
- A shared location link opens straight in CarPilot when the person you sent it to has the app.
- Freeway speed-camera positions recalibrated across the network.
- Trips back up to your own iCloud and come back on a new phone or after reinstalling.
- A redesigned CarPlay dashboard card: one thing at a time, with the speed-limit sign pinned right.
- Fixed: the full-screen map could not be dragged while driving, and the buttons below it did not respond.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-28

This release is about what is coming up next on the road. Enforcement
points and freeway traffic are Taiwan-only.

• Enforcement point warnings, on screen and spoken, before you reach a
published fixed speed camera, red-light camera, junction enforcement
camera or designated freeway recording spot.
• Average-speed (interval) sections: told when you enter, your running
average along the way, and the result as you leave.
• Only points on your road and in your direction speak up — the opposite
  carriageway stays quiet.
• Freeway congestion: when traffic a few kilometres ahead is slower than
where you are, you hear about it in time to lift off rather than brake.
• Posted limits now cover main city roads, and the over-speed warning
lets you choose how far over it waits before saying anything.
• Live Activity and Dynamic Island: speed, the posted limit and whatever
is closest ahead, without unlocking — readable while the phone sits in
its mount running a navigation app.
• Live location sharing: a temporary link anyone can open without the
app, showing which road you are on, how far away you are and roughly
how long you will be. It expires with the trip, or after 12 hours.
• A quick panel pulls up from the bottom edge while you drive: layout,
  colours and four switches.
• Weather warnings for crosswind gusts and heavy rain.
• A trip report can be uploaded again once you are back on a network.
• Stability fixes, including the layout shifting after returning from the
background, a crash when opening from a notification, and the timing
and distance of the spoken warnings.

Warnings are built from public data and our own road surveys; they may be
out of date or incomplete. Always follow the signs and the law.
