## What is Carpool Circle?

Carpool Circle is for a group of families who share the school run.

It answers the three questions that otherwise turn into a group chat every
morning: whose turn is it, where is the car, and is my child actually being
collected today.

WHAT IT DOES

See the car on its way. When a parent starts their run, everyone else sees
the car move on a map and how many minutes away it is from their house. No
more watching the window.

Know before the doorbell. Your phone rings when the run starts, again when
the car is two stops away, and once more when your child is in the car.

Whose turn is it. Set who drives on which day and each way, and the app shows
today's driver without anyone having to ask.

Not riding today. A parent can take their own child off one day's run, to
school, home, or both. The stop is struck through for everyone, the driver is
told before they set off, and the route skips that house. Nobody has to be
telephoned.

Every driver's own order. Drivers set off from different houses, so each one
saves their own order of stops. The list always shows the order the car is
actually driving, not somebody else's.

Hand the route to Maps. One tap sends the remaining stops to Google Maps as a
multi-stop route, in order, skipping anyone already picked up.

PRIVACY

A driver's location is shared only while they are driving, only with their own
carpool, and only the latest position is kept. There is no location history.
There is no advertising, and nothing is sold. Anonymous usage statistics (Google Analytics) help improve the app; they never include names, addresses, routes or which carpool you are in.

Carpool Circle is used by parents. Children have no accounts and are never
asked for anything.
