It makes a busy family life less stressful. Allows for setting reoccurring practices/events, storing addresses for multiple pickup/dropoff locations, and even stores driver’s seat count so you don’t overload your carpool. Definitely recommend! ### 3/5 — Useful, but limited features *2025-12-17, version 13.4* I’ve been using this for my kids’ sports teams and it has been very useful to lighten the load. There are some features that could be added or improved: - The app allows an outbound sync, but really needs to allow an inbound sync. Many sports leagues have shared calendars that can be imported using a URL. Unfortunately, the app requires users to type in each event. - the app shows a report of who has driven in the past but does not allow you to view past events. Some of our events were driverless so I’d like to be able to edit prior events to add the driver (we have one parent who doesn’t use the app) - the app does not allow you to store locations. Please please add option to use Google Maps or Waze. Apple Maps is so terrible and constantly makes driving much longer. ### 3/5 — Great concept, notifications need tweaking *2025-07-17, version 12.2* This has been helpful for our soccer team, setting up different drivers and pickup locations, but the notifications are wild. Nobody needs to know every time a child is added or removed from a group you aren’t driving and your child isn’t even in. Would be hugely helpful to be able to filter notifications to just rides that you’re driving or that your child is riding in. We’re all getting 20+ emails a day, so we all turned off every notification which isn’t ideal either but is way better than being blown up constantly. ### 4/5 — Great app *2025-03-09, version 12.0* Somewhat user-friendly but not entirely intuitive. But I wish they had a better way to share events with my iCloud or Google calendars. I just tried to set that up and in order to sync events they require you to share all your personal calendar events with them. That feels like an invasion of privacy. Why can’t we just add events to calendar without syncing everything? ### 4/5 — Close to 5 stars *2024-08-31, version 11.9* My biggest complaint with the app is that you can only schedule driver availability by the day, not by hours of a day. We have several people who work odd hours and need to know down to the hour when people are available. Also, editing recurring events is difficult. There are times that we will have to drop a ride from a date and can’t. We have to leave the shift there and just have no riders. After getting some events entered I tried to enter a recurring set of events and it wouldn’t let me (enter all info and hit save but nothing on event feed shows up). If that’s all you have you sure as heck don’t need an app! I signed up for the free app. Then accepted my neighbor’s invitation for our carpool. I was told that I had to upgrade to the $15 Pro plan to accept his invitation so I did. Carpool-Kids took my money and then I was locked out. Didn’t matter what I do, I cannot get into my account. I emailed the company and have received zero response and that was over 10 days ago. I would NOT recommend this app. I just want my money back at this point. ### 1/5 — Terrible, terrible, most awful app *2021-08-25, version 5.0* I would give it less than 1 star if I could. I have used other carpool apps in the past. I am also a relatively proficient user of technology. This app is not intuitive, makes no sense and forces a paid subscription if you want to set up more than one carpool. It does give you a month free, but everyone you invite to your carpool also has to have a paid subscription to accept your invite to more than one carpool. And I ask you, who needs a carpool app if you have only ONE carpool to manage. I could do that in my sleep. I need a carpool app that is easy to populate, easy to navigate and easy to explain to others how to use. Last year I was in a carpool where we just had a text group, which is fine if schedules never change and everything is always the same. But when some kids don’t need a ride because of an extracurricular on one day, and swapping dates when people travel there where times I wasn’t sure if everybody remembered the changes and I felt rude reminding people if they didn’t need reminding, but yet I didn’t want kids without rides even more. This app took all that worry away and lets you make changes in advance that are clear to everyone.
