Cannot Cartier’s idea of a thermostat driven schedule…. So basically I have to manually play with my two thermostats (2 zones) EVERY DAY - and MULTIPLE TIMES to control my house heating and AC. The dealer keeps sending idiots out who don’t know anything about the thermostats they originally installed. Carrier is turning out to be a pile of s—t. ### 1/5 — New app doesn’t work *2025-11-29, version 2.21.0* Totally junk can’t even change the temperature. ### 1/5 — Can't fix temp *2025-11-25, version 2.21.0* Problem not solved. ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2025-11-25* UPDATE: Still junk. Can’t adjust the schedules because they haven’t figured out not all phones are the size of tablets and I can’t scroll up the page to save/update. UPDATE: Still utter garbage. You can’t even turn the system on off, change, or even look at the schedule. You have to slide the screen up to reach the controls, but it doesn’t stay, so you can tap them. The last update claimed to enhance the UI, but there’s no appreciable change. It’s inexcusable that they just trashed a wonderful, intuitive, extremely useful app for what feels like the work of the CEO’s nephew who took a class. ________ Because Carrier discontinued the thermostat their otherwise excellent app supported, when Apple made changes they appear to have completely deprioritized providing a useful update for it. Left us all out in the cold, as it were. They kept saying they working hard, but every other app I have, from the remedial to the complex figured it out. I guess they’re regretting making a thermostat with such useful and staying power that they gave to keep supporting it, but that’s their job. They can’t even manage to change the OLD pictures from the app they broke. I am seriously thinking about getting a new smart thermostat and seriously determined that it never again come from Carrier OR Honeywell, who coincidentally acquired it in the summer of 2024. ### 1/5 — Nope *2025-10-13, version 2.21.0* Still not working. Pretty sure it comes from poor Farheinheit to Celcius conversion. I’ve spent over a week trying to clear these holds so that it will run as scheduled to no avail. The previous Carrier Cor app for this thermostat allowed the user to access most of the functions of the thermostat. This new app allows for only basic thermostat control. I paid well over $300 for the thermostat in 2017. It was worth it because of its many functions, such as dehumidification temperature setback. As an example of loss of functionality, when away from the physical thermostat for months at a time, this newley designed app does not allow the user to access that function. Since Carrier has now proven that they won’t support an app for more than a few years, my next system and thermostat will not be a Carrier thermostat, and therefore I will not purchase another Carrier AC/Heating system when I need to replace. The issue before: I kept getting logged off of app (Face Recognition doesn’t work if logged out), “forgot password” link was ultimately resulting in an error webpage. ### 4/5 — X-mas in June! *2025-06-29, version 2.20.0* Alleluia ! Their eyes are open and they can read all the negative reviews. Finally we get a stable version and (this feels like a late or early X-mas present) we get the much requested, personally lost hope for, the one thing everyone agreed upon that is unacceptably missing : THE AUX HEAT option! WOW! Hell yeah ! It's hot and humid outside, but I dont care, I put it on anyways. Just because I finally could! 4* because it took them years to wake up and do the right thing. ### 3/5 — Where's the Auxiliary Heat Mode...??? *2025-06-27, version 2.20.0* 6/26/2025: At last, AuxHeat mode selection added, and is apparently functional. Why is it so hard to add AuxHeat as a selectable mode? 3/2/2025: Latest update still does not have AuxHeat selection option even though the graphic in the App Store shows it for both iPad and iPhone. Hopeful that the app improvements will continue and that feature will actually be included soon… Old app allowed selection of Auxiliary Heat Mode, new app doesn't (thankfully the browser interface still does - critical for remote vacation home). Since it's a function of the equipment, please put that option back in the app. ### 1/5 — Randomly Logs you Out *2025-06-17* Nothing more infuriating than the app logging you out randomly twice in the last few weeks and having to go and reset password which brings you to an “Oops” error page. I like the older version so much better! If my wall thermostat changes to be like the app I will be replacing it. I change the temperature only to realize nothing has changed. I’m locked out of the app, says my password is wrong - reset password, oops something went wrong. Needs a basic refresh screen pull down mechanism if it won’t show accurate temperature set numbers on its own. You can’t change the temperature to what you need. It will only go up by 1 degree, and doesn’t let you do half degrees even though it’s an option. I logged in, in an attempt to update my schedules, thinking it was going to be a headache. Sure, it’s missing a few features I’d like to see, but let’s be realistic—this app was just launched a few months ago. I’m not sure why people are leaving bad reviews when the company is actively improving things. At least they’ve released an app, and with time, I’m confident it will continue to improve.
