After having this app for a few months I feel I have to take away one star, I still love the app but it doesn’t care that you’re sleeping or taking a vacation for the weekend. I don’t have things to do or want to be on my phone when I’m on vacation. So that’s a negative. I got this app because I’m trying to be healthier & the Carrot Workout App & my lungs don’t get along well. I love this because you have to complete things to get access to the entire app/ what a normal to-do lost app would be. You have to use it for it to be useful for you!! I have recommended this to multiple people & it helps motivate me when I’m low on energy to complete things!! My main issue with this app is the colour scheme. I know you can buy the pink ocular lens and the mood ring look but blue and white is not soothing for me but if I’m doing well (completing tasks daily), then those are the colours I’m stuck with. Wish there was an “goth” look to buy, or something with darker colours. Even with that, I 1000% recommend this app ### 4/5 — Funny effective. However for me the negative reinforcement provided by Carrot as I complete tasks doesn’t translate to a sense of accomplishment unlike the typical dopamine rush of ticking off a to-do list. I find myself only using it for work tasks and not hobby or home chores because I don’t want to associate the feeling of using the app with things I enjoy. Unfortunately that leads to another problem: Carrot gets mad way too fast. In between going to bed for the evening and arriving at work she will already have decided that you’re not productive enough. If you’re easily stressed, breaking down tasks into a list can be your biggest ally in understanding what you can achieve and avoiding feeling overwhelmed. What isn’t helpful is a little red reminder telling you numerically just how much you have left to do. If you have mental health issues such as anxiety or you want a to do list app that won’t exacerbate the feeling that you’re not doing enough, you should avoid this app. The gimmick is cute if you find negative reinforcement neutral or even motivating. And I could not put my to do list in the order I wanted! But as soon as I figured as that when I got my tasks done and I leveled up I Earned the ability to edit, and earned the ability or organizers my task it made me to 1) add my tasks and 2) complete them! It was not just another useless app where a list of to dos went to die. This app is just as good. The same twisted sense of humor but in a to-do list. And as a bonus, I’m actually getting more done. The more items you complete off your to-do list the faster you level up. There are rewards at the levels, including a kitten.
