While the realistic trucks were the initial draw, now he loves to manipulate them and accomplish the tasks. He is special needs but is able to navigate this app well. I had a little trouble figuring out the controls but Logan seems to have them down pat. The game itself is a great concept, but poorly executed. The graphics are beautiful and my son really wants to play, but it is impossible to maneuver these trucks. I've spent hours trying to help him and it is so difficult for me to do, I don't think he will ever be successful. It becomes so frustrating to both of us that I've deleted the app on all devices. ### 1/5 — Cars in sandbox *2014-05-06, version 1.4* This app is not kid friendly it took my 5 year old several attempts to maneuver all the trucks only to get so frustrated he cried. It is not clearly explained of what and how to complete tasks. Also, there is no place to go for questions and nothing happens when you complete a task. Waste of money in my opinion and VERY poorly made with no research on what kids like at all. I am shocked this was editors choice there is zero educational value in this game. ### 1/5 — Bad *2014-02-04, version 1.3.6* Save your money....this does not work and frustrated my 4 year old boy. ### 1/5 — No directions *2014-01-10, version 1.3.5* I think this app would be cute, but there are no instructions and neither my 4 year old or me can figure it out. Worthless and disappointing without directions. ### 1/5 — DON'T!! *2013-06-23, version 1.3.4* even if your kid loves construction stuff, don't buy this app! The trucks are either unresponsive (don't move when u try to move them) or overly responsive (doors open, crane arms move, etc) when all you are trying to do is make the truck move forward & back. The "jobs" range from so simplistic that your child will have completed them without having really done anything, to aggravatingly impossible given the responsiveness issues already discussed. Plus, there is no scale telling you what level of difficulty each truck will provide until after you have chosen a truck. Nor do the jobs change as you play so once your child has played with say, the dump truck, one time the task will remain the same each time he chooses that truck. Boring on top of aggravating. The graphics are pretty, hence the one star. ### 2/5 — GRADER NOT FUNCTIONING *2012-06-08, version 1.3.2* Start the grader and it takes off across the screen ... can't stop or reverse. Don't even have time to put the blade down. ### 2/5 — Controls are terrible. *2012-02-17, version 1.2* These controls are impossible, my niece and nephew can not use this app, and frankly neither can I! My daughter, who is 3, gets frustrated because we can't figure out how to make the trucks stop/start/change directions on command. Its difficult to pick things up with the various claws and hooks because the truck is always moving, and then if we do get something scooped up, it's a struggle to make the truck go where we want it too again. She really doesn't have any interest in playing it at all because of this, but I'm keeping it for a little while in hopes that there is an update that improves the app. I think it could be really neat. But it is frustrating having a sale ad that covers about 1/6 of the sandbox and there does not seem to be a way to turn it off (when I went to parent settings, the same annoying ad blocked a big chunk of the content on that page as well!) ### 3/5 — Needs more vehicles *2012-09-27, version 1.3.3* The dumper and dump truck are basically identical. Also, the tractor is no fun (back up, go forward).
