## What is CartKind?

CartKind applies the ingredient rules you choose to available product data—without assigning a one-size-fits-all health score.

Scan a barcode, enter one manually, or enter an ingredient list when lookup data is unavailable. CartKind shows whether the available ingredients are Aligned, need Review, or are Not aligned with your rules, and explains the matches behind the result.

Start with built-in ingredient categories and choose how CartKind should treat each one. Your preferences—not somebody else's score—shape each result.

SEE EXACTLY WHAT MATCHED

Review the available ingredient text, matched rules, result explanation, and data source. CartKind keeps the reasoning visible so you can make your own shopping decision.

KEEP A USEFUL HISTORY

Save evaluations on your device and reopen the result that was recorded at the time of the scan. When lookup data is unavailable, you can enter an ingredient list manually.

OPTIONAL PREMIUM

Premium adds custom categories, custom ingredient triggers, custom rules in new evaluations, and the Insights dashboard. Monthly and yearly plans are available through the App Store; eligible introductory offers are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN

No account is required. Rules and saved history stay on your device. Barcode lookups send the barcode to Open Food Facts and, only after a catalog miss, to a Tyche Ventures proxy that requests USDA FoodData Central results. See the privacy policy for complete details.
