CARVE is Britain's biggest, boldest and best selling surfing magazine. The app gives you access to the full version of the mag plus video clips relevant to the features (which are admittedly hard to fit in the paper version!) It's the usual mix of world class photography and witty articles all stuck together with easy to navigate design. So if you want the best content the UK and Ireland have to offer by Europe's leading surf photojournalists, as well as the hand-picked cream of what's going on in world surfing, check it out! -------------------- This is a free app download. Within the app users can purchase the current issue and back issues. Subscriptions are also available within the application. A subscription will start from the latest issue. Available subscriptions are: 12 months: £23.99 [8 issues] -The subscription will renew automatically unless cancelled more than 24 hours before the end of the current period. You will be charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period, for the same duration and at the current subscription rate for the product. -You may turn off the auto-renewal of subscriptions through your Account Settings, however you are not able to cancel the current subscription during its active period. -Payment will charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when a subscription to that publication is purchased. Bundles of single issues can be also be bought within the application. To use purchased credits, simply click on the issue price and select ‘use credit’. This allows you to purchase back issues at reduced prices. Users can register for/ login to a pocketmags account in-app. This will protect their issues in the case of a lost device and allow browsing of purchases on multiple platforms. Existing pocketmags users can retrieve their purchases by logging into their account. We recommend loading the app for the first time in a wi-fi area so that all issue data is retrieved. I downloaded the app and went to buy the latest copy.. and it crashed. Opened again, crashed instantly. And again…..lasted about a minute as I looked at the preview, then…. Well you guessed it. I’d love to support the magazine but I’m afraid the app is useless to me. It's suffice to say that I have maintained my subscription with CARVE magazine because by my experience it's well edited and has always got interesting articles. I love the fact that it has links to movies in certain articles. I have not maintained my subscription to the other magazines because I think they are just too commercial. If you want to subscribe to a Surfing Magazine I recommend you try CARVE first. ### 1/5 — Carve magazine *2012-12-27* I bought the Carve magazine . Worked okay initially but then stopped working on my iPad4. Something is wrong with the Link with Carve as per the other review. Avoid this magazine until it's sorted! ### 1/5 — Paid for nothing!! *2012-12-04, version 4.2.5* I had been reading Carve happily on my iPad2. BUT when I replaced that with a 4th Gen iPad, Carve no longer recognises my subscription! I have emailed them and as requested, sent them my iTunes receipt but they have since not responded back to me! Even though I have repeatedly contacted them. So the result is, I have paid in full for a subscription which I now can't access jack! Avoid Carve! Now having to result to contacting iTunes directly to get my money back. ### 1/5 — Crave *2012-04-23* This app dose not load and I wasted 3 dollars on this useless app! ### 1/5 — Doesn't even work *2012-03-13* So I pay $2.99 for an app that should be free but I get my choice of an issue. So I shrug it off and say "what the heck, not a big deal". Takes a horrendous amount of time to download the "free" issue and once it finally does when I try to view it all I get is a blank screen. The app isn't frozen, I can tap the screen and bring up the navigation controls, but when I tape the table of contents section it says there is no content found. I can return to the home screen and purchase more issues and even go to my library where it says I have one issue downloaded on my device but again each time I open it....nothing, just a black void. ### 3/5 — Can't subscribe? *2011-08-03, version 3.1.3* Good app, but why do I get a 'Purchase Error' message whenever I try to subscribe? Works smoothly and looks stunning on me iPad. Vid links add depth to the mag well, if you can't get hold of the mag (like I can't cos I'm working abroad) it's perfick!!! ;) ### 5/5 — Long awaited but excellent update *2011-08-02* Love Carve and was disappoined initially with this app earlier this year.
