## What is CasaRay for Home Assistant?

See what is on, what is open, and what needs attention. CasaRay brings Home Assistant into native controls for your Apple devices.

Start with a summary of your home, then open a group, room, or device. Control lights, locks, gates, garage doors, blinds, climate, scenes, and cameras. Check energy use, waste collection, and household presence without scrolling through every device.

CasaRay Free connects one complete Home Assistant home with no device-count limit. It includes live status and controls, camera snapshots and single-camera live viewing, camera activity, basic notifications, widgets, personalization, Apple Watch status and manual controls, and selected manual CarPlay controls. On iPhone and iPad, you can also opt in to Apple Home, select accessories, pair matching devices, and use supported cameras through Apple's protected native sessions.

CasaRay Plus adds Live Wall for viewing multiple cameras on iPad and Mac, searchable notification history and rules, Home Assistant dashboards inside CasaRay, advanced navigation and dashboard placement, and the experimental Assistant where available.

Assistant supports chat, realtime voice, selected images, questions about your home, diagnostics, permitted device control, and optional web search. It requires a separately eligible ChatGPT account and is unavailable in the mainland China storefront. OpenAI controls account eligibility, models, voices, limits, and service availability. All other Free and Plus features remain available without Assistant.

Home Assistant and ChatGPT credentials are stored in Keychain. Everyday home data stays on your devices unless you enable an optional service. When you use Assistant, prompts, voice audio, selected images, and relevant home context are sent to OpenAI. Your Home Assistant credential is never sent to OpenAI, and OpenAI does not receive a direct connection to your home. Optional notification delivery uses the relay described in our privacy policy.

Live Home Assistant control requires an accessible Home Assistant server. Preview Mode lets you explore CasaRay without one.

• Open supported Apple Home cameras through protected native snapshots and live sessions.
• See a clearer Free and Plus boundary: complete daily control remains Free; Plus adds Live Wall, notification tools, dashboards, advanced navigation, and Assistant where available.
• Keep using CasaRay in the mainland China storefront without Assistant.
• Benefit from camera-routing, release-readiness, and cross-platform consistency fixes.

### 1.8 — 2026-08-22

CasaRay 1.8 restores quicker access to Assistant and makes the compact launcher your choice.

• Ask CasaRay returns as a floating chat and voice launcher on iPhone and compact iPad for eligible users.
• The launcher is enabled by default and can be disabled or restored under Settings > Your Experience > Appearance.
• Regular iPad and Mac continue to provide Assistant from the sidebar.
• The floating launcher no longer reserves page space, keeping controls and scrolling layouts unchanged.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-11

CasaRay 1.6 expands CasaRay across Apple devices and makes everyday control faster and more reliable.

• Apple Watch now ships with the iPhone app, with compact home status, manual controls, and optional Assistant voice through the paired phone.
• CarPlay adds an approved voice-first Assistant experience plus bounded manual controls in Apple’s system templates.
• Assistant actions start faster, report progress more accurately, recover more reliably, and avoid recent main-thread stalls.
• Home, Lights, and Climate layouts adapt better from compact iPhone screens to iPad and Mac, including room-level climate controls.
• App and website localization has been reviewed and improved across English, Polish, German, Spanish, French, and Italian.
• Store disclosures now describe ChatGPT requirements, Assistant data handling, and the shared CasaRay Plus entitlement more clearly.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-27

CasaRay 1.5 makes Home more informative while keeping it calm and stable.

• Choose which household members and places appear, see current presence on a private map, and request Distance or Route only when useful. CasaRay does not track device location in the background or retain route history.
• Energy now shows clearer live solar, grid, and battery flow, battery level and reserve, and estimated runtime or charge time when the available data supports it. Today, Week, and Month views add more dependable electricity, gas, and water history.
• Connection state is now a compact, stable status dot instead of layout-shifting banners. Tap it for a detailed state and privacy-safe Support Diagnostics.
• Camera playback can now be muted. Live Wall starts muted and gives each stream its own audio control, with Mute All always available.
• Waste collection cards show both the weekday and how many days remain.
• Notification actions now distinguish CasaRay history from active Home Assistant notifications and provide explicit dismissal choices.
• Home actions, people avatars, and responsive layouts are more stable and consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
