I like all the options especially the automations. ### 3/5 — Mangelhaftes Funktion zum Fokusieren über liveview *2026-03-08* Leider kann man über die liveview Funktion nicht fokusieren, da die Zoom Funktion nur an eine Stelle reinzoom die sich dann nicht mehr bewegen lässt. Star Rating funktioniert nur wenn man Bilder auf dem iPad oder iPhone speichert und es ist umständlich zum Fenster zu wechseln um ein Star Rating zu geben (die Kamera stoppt den Live view und es kommt zu technischen Problemen um den wiederherzustellen). Es wäre toll wenn die App mit Lightroom „kommunizieren“ kann. Sodass lightroom die vorgenommene Auswahl (5 Stars ) in Cascable erkennen kann. Die Bearbeitungsfunktion konnte ich leider nicht ausprobiert , weil es bei mir „verschwunden“ ist (ich hatte einen Monat Abo , ein iPad Air 2 und eine Canon 5d Mark II). Trotzdem top , dass die App auf meinem sehr alten iPad funktioniert. **Developer response:** Thanks for your review. Zoom on Live View is impacted by camera model, some models allow scrolling around, others don’t. Similarly with star ratings being added to the image metadata on the memory card, this feature can depend on camera model. We plan to support Lightroom more fully in the future. Great to hear it works on your older iPad! ### 2/5 — Used the app for years *2025-10-04, version 7.1.4* It’s always been a bit of a love/hate relationship, but in the end what it has offered has always been 5 stars. Got a new camera recently and it refuses to connect to the LUMIX S5II. I looked on the compatibility page and it doesn’t even mention the S5. Y’all should just drop the Panasonic logo altogether if you’re not going to support modern cameras. ### 3/5 — Mostly love *2025-09-18, version 7.1.4* I love this app. It just works for tethering. My only gripe is when I switch real quick to review saved photos in the iPad Photos app, the camera becomes disconnected. Reconnecting is easy, but an annoying chore of unplugging the USB and plugging back in. ### 3/5 — Will not save video. *2025-09-02, version 7.1.3* This app is great for stills but not so much for videos. I’m not sure if it’s a fault of the app or if the file sizes are too big. Whenever I record video it wont save to my iPad mini. It will record to the camera but that won’t play back either. I’ve been through settings and have it set to save to “camera and host” but it doesn’t save to host(iPad mini). Still needs a bit of work. ### 3/5 — Great…When It Works *2025-07-04, version 7.1.1* This has generally worked well and been reliable for me, but lately all it does is crash. Not sure why. I do screen recordings for previews and wish they simply had a way to switch to turn off the controls and focus box from appearing. Please please add this simple option. I love the app and would highly recommend it. I would give it a 5 if it had this! Keep up the great software! Thank you so much!!! ### 4/5 — Now it saves local storage! *2024-12-12, version 7.0.1* As a Sony shooter, the main dealbreaker for me to shooting tethered was that I had to keep all the RAW files in the local storage until the photoshoot is finished, and only then I could transfer to a SSD. That with Creators, C1 or Cascable. I'm very pleased to see that v7 finally addressed that and each file only goes temporarily into the local storage before it's moved to the external one quickly. This is a game changer, you have no idea how happy I am. The only thing missing now is the ability to keep the last soft proof done to a preview file, to every upcoming photo that is displayed in the preview window, as the shoot goes on. Even better, if it could apply one or more LUTs so a photoshoot planned in black-and-white can be previewed with a LUT that applies my favourite bw conversion, and perhaps film sim, in the preview window leaving my RAW untouched in the SSD. I know you can now use a LUT for the live view, but I'm talking about the preview window. That would be amazing, but even without that feature, I am ready to purchase the non-subscription iAP because Cascable now solved my main problem! Thank you!! ### 4/5 — Great App. Very convenient! *2024-10-31, version 6.7.2* Wanted to love with this but for some reason I don’t have the USB option for the EOS R100. Somehow the R50 & R10 have this option. Weird. Shutter has this option for the same camera so will end up subscribing to that instead. App will not detect my camera. Tried using the WiFi connection method…..same thing…..can’t detect my camera. Sent their customer service a help request through the app. No response for ten days. Finally get a an email that simply mimics all the suggestions they list in the app when you have trouble (as if I hadn’t tried all those already). Can’t get anyone to call me or live chat to debug the issue. Would recommend you save your money and invest in Capture One for iPad which has wired tethering. X100VI und X-T50 werden ebenfalls nicht unterstützt ### 1/5 — No USB support for Sony *2024-10-23* It does not connect to neither of my Sony cameras (a7M4, a7RM5) via USB. It asks permission to access Files on the device, I hit OK and nothing happens, with camera in the latest firmware and Remote Shooting USB mode. The app doesn't show in Privacy&Security under Files&Folders, something is missing from the developer. Pity. **Developer response:** Both of those cameras are fully supported via USB with Cascable. Please see the app’s connections guides and your camera’s instruction manuals for details. The team found out I was the only person that had this problem, and still created a special patch fixing this problem just for me. If that isn’t going above and beyond for your customers, I don’t know what is. Tethering, intervalometer, expanded bracketing from what my camera body offers, automatic focus adjustment, and so much more. It can be a simple remote and go as complex as you need it to be. All that plus a highly intuitive interface makes this a must have. ### 5/5 — Perfect Tethering Software *2024-03-02, version 6.6.2* When I first learned of Cascable it didn’t support Nikon over USB. I sent the developers a message asking if they planned to add such support, they responded that they were planning to, and to their word they delivered, so kudos for that alone. As to using the software, with Cascable driving my Z6ii from my iPad my focus stacking macro sessions are a lot easier. The whole interface is quite intuitive, I’ve never really felt the need to look at the documentation. Thoroughly recommended! ### 5/5 — Best tethering app *2023-12-14, version 6.6.1* Best tethered shooting experience I’ve found yet. I tether a Sony A7Riii and A7iii to an iPad mini 6. Far more simple and reliable than Sony’s software, Lightroom, or capture one, even on a MacBook Pro. WiFi tethering works, but everything is faster with a cable. ### 5/5 — Works like a charm!!
