### 3/5 — Please update

*2026-05-07, version 1.1.0*

No updates in 6 years? There is so much potential. I would like to control the brightness of the light for the wake up mode, or be able to leave it at its lowest brightness level. If my partner and I have different wake up times, I don’t need my light reaching full intensity. It would also be nice to have longer durations of wake ups.

### 3/5 — charging feature

*2026-01-12, version 1.1.0*

this glow light is great, it does the job. however i wish the app told you whether the glow light was changing or not. its not easy to make sure that it is in fact charging so instead of flipping the device, most of the time i use the alp to turn it on.

### 2/5 — Light is great, app ignored

*2026-01-04, version 1.1.0*

I loved my Casper Glow light. Had it for several years before it stopped working. Thought of buying another but just noticed the app hasn’t been updated in 6 years! Not a good look for a hardware product you still sell.

### 3/5 — Don’t try grouping lights

*2025-12-11, version 1.1.0*

Ok app just be patient with device discovery. Don’t try to group lights or the app glitches. If you do, tap group then press and hold a light for the X to appear. I guess this won’t get updated now…

### 3/5 — App detail view and battery control

*2025-03-24, version 1.1.0*

The lights are great but I cannot find the detail view in the app to see the battery life. When the light runs out of battery it is not turning back on and there is no indication if it is charging or not. Is there an app feature I am missing to run the battery information?

### 2/5 — Lights don’t work

*2024-10-30, version 1.1.0*

I bought the double pack and neither lamp works out of the box. They don’t snap into place smoothly on the charging pad but with enough wiggling around you can be pretty sure they’re aligned with the charging points. However, they don’t light up when placed on the charger or respond to button presses, and after an hour of “charging” nothing has changed. The app can’t discover them and they are completely unresponsive to being charged, flipped or pressed. Do not buy.

### 4/5 — On maintenance?

*2024-02-02, version 1.1.0*

I love my Casper glow and use it everyday. I noticed there’s a bug with editing the wake up settings. Sometimes a saved wake up setting will disappear and then re-appear in the list. Other times it has the wrong device listed. There also hasn’t been any new features developed since we got this a few years back. I would like to be able to set the maximum light strength on wake ups for example. Starting to wonder if they’ve left it on “keep the lights on” mode which means no active development and very little resource to fix bugs, hope that isn’t the case because I love these lights.

### 4/5 — Really like the light, but

*2024-01-21, version 1.1.0*

It would be great if the app showed how much charge is left in the light. The light really helps me fall asleep, sleep, and wake up better. I was always falling asleep with a light on and getting poor quality sleep as a result. I do not leave the light on the base, and too often don’t realize the charge has run down. Would love to see this feature in the app.

### 2/5 — Works well until the charging base breaks

*2024-01-05, version 1.1.0*

Charging base breaks very quickly (one and a half years for me) and you have to buy a new one, otherwise worked very well

### 3/5 — Could use more features

*2023-10-23, version 1.1.0*

I love the light and how I can set it but I hate that the app is lacking in a lot of features
1) it won’t let you delete wake ups, or at least this is not easy to find
2) you can’t set how long it takes to turn on, it will only start turning on 30 minutes before and I wish this could be more adjustable.
3) you can’t adjust how long it stays on other than 5-30 minutes. I want the light to stay on until I turn it off or probably an hour.
3.1) same for the dim down that there isn’t a time adjustable option
4) I wish you would be able to adjust the brightness more, since it starts the wake up pretty dim but you can’t set the brightness to that dimness.
4.1) I wish the brightness at the end of the wake up was also adjustable
5) the amount of set days to wake up is limited, this may be on the product itself vs the app but I tried to make more to combat that the time is limited.

### 4/5 — Pretty good, but a few bugs

*2023-03-31, version 1.1.0*

This app hasn’t been updated in 3 years. It could really use a refresh.

1. Sometimes when I switch on an alarm from the off position, it switches itself off without me touching it. This has burned me a few times in the morning.

2. After editing an alarm, it should default into the on position.

3. The rate at which the lamp dims and brightens should be adjustable

4. Would love for the lamp to integrate into my apple alarms (although admittedly this would be tough).

### 2/5 — No way to set a schedule for evening

*2023-01-27, version 1.1.0*

Love the look of the light itself, but the app continues to lack features that would actually make the light useful at times other than waking up. Please consider allowing the lights to turn on at full brightness and dim over time after lingering an adjustable amount of time on a schedule so we don’t have to consciously remember to turn the light on when winding down for the night. That would definitely help increase Accessibility issues for neurodiverse people.

### 3/5 — Had several issues since purchasing them two years ago

*2022-10-20, version 1.1.0*

I had first purchased one two years ago and there are occasional command issues same with the second purchase a year after same issue. I pair the two and very often one would stop syncin in the near end of a fading cycle. It would really annoy us because we would have to get up and turn it off completely because it would not listen to our blue tooth app. We repaired many times and issue is exactly the same.

### 4/5 — It’s great

*2022-10-08, version 1.1.0*

I do like waking up to the glow of this light.
Being able to turn it on from the app is good BUT I wish i could also adjust the brightness level from the app instead of only being able to do that on the devise itself.

### 3/5 — Should allow wake up time in relation to sunrise

*2022-10-05, version 1.1.0*

I like to wake up with sunrise and would love if this would allow me to set a time restive to the sunrise time (e.g. peak the light 5 min after sunrise). Now I need to manually readjust every couple weeks :(

### 3/5 — Lights are great, app is not

*2022-09-30, version 1.1.0*

I am a huge fan of these lamps and have convinced many people to buy them. They kept me out of the dark when we lost power (Texas!) on/off for a week. I was never in total darkness… plus the night light and wake up features are great!

The app is kind of hard to use and not intuitive, though! For example - I can’t figure out how to use the app to turn off a light that’s on! That’s like - a pretty basic feature. I know Casper is very into naturally dimming over time but sometimes you just want to turn it off!

### 4/5 — Natural way to wake up

*2022-09-16, version 1.1.0*

The Casper Glow light is great, although I do wish it started just a little dimmer upon waking. I resolved this by placing the light further away fro my bed. The light provides a much more gentle waking experience than the traditional alarm. I find that if I am dreaming or in a deeper stage of sleep it will not wake me until I come back into a lighter stage of sleep. This helps met to wake up in a more natural way and leaves me feeling more refreshed and energized throughout the day. The long wake time function on the app aids with that experience.

Although the app is good, it does need some minor improvements. There needs to be an ability to snooze the light (rather than just pausing the current brightness) either via a pop up on your phone or by pushing the pause button on the glow light. The ability to adjust the snooze time would be great too. I would also like to see the option for a longer wake time so that the light stays dimmer for longer upon waking. Lastly, the dimmer functionality for wake and sleep should be separate. Overall the light works great and the app functions well, it just needs a few minor tweaks to make it next level. I would recommend the light if you can get it on sale.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2022-08-19, version 1.1.0*

When the lights actually work they’re lovely, but I find they more often than not don’t work properly with this app.

### 2/5 — Room for improvement

*2022-08-04, version 1.1.0*

Hopefully this review becomes obsolete: the biggest problem with the app is that there is no notification for when the battery is low. You either have to constantly charge the glow or regularly check the app to avoid having a dead glow. The ability to opt in/out of battery notifications would address the app’s biggest shortcoming, though the glow itself is still a first generation product

### 2/5 — Need a dimming option in app

*2022-03-27, version 1.1.0*

Similar to twisting the lamp itself to the desired light level and then pausing it, we could with an option to do this in the app.

It would be nice to be able to dim the light to, say, 15/30mins left and then pause it.

### 4/5 — Needs a dimmer in-app.

*2022-03-17, version 1.1.0*

Would be nice to have a widget too so I don’t constantly have to go into the app.

### 4/5 — Overall LOVE my Casper!!!!

*2022-03-01, version 1.1.0*

I wish the app would allow for it to go even dimmer manually. Other than that, this is a 5 star product! I keep checking for software updates hoping one day I can make it dim in less than 15 minutes.

### 3/5 — Limited utility without HomeKit and Siri

*2022-01-25, version 1.1.0*

Great little product. But has limited utility without support for HomeKit and Siri.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Do Not Buy

*2025-06-11, version 1.1.0*

Hoping to save a consumer some money in this economy.

Look up “Casper Glow charging base replacement” on Google. This is a known issue that Casper refuses to fix.

Despite this issue, Casper continues to ship units out to customers with this faulty design.

PS—check out the last update for this app (5 years and counting). That should have been a clear indication to me that Casper had given up on this product.

Buyer beware.

### 1/5 — Fatal design flaw in the app

*2025-05-20, version 1.1.0*

Why is the “wake up” time programmed to be the time when the light hits maximum brightness? This suggests that when the light is 95% bright, I would not yet be awake.
Why must I set my wake up time 25 minutes after I want to actually wake up. This makes errors so much likelier.

Change the app so that the wake up time is the time when the light begins to glow. This is a one-star app until this easy fix is complete.

Also, allow a custom ramp up time or more variety in ramp up. 30 minutes is too lengthy. I’d like to see a 10 minute ramp or even 5.

### 1/5 — No link to phone alarm setting

*2025-01-08, version 1.1.0*

Why can’t the awake time be tied to the phone alarm setting. Light is good but it’s annoying having to change alarm in two different places

### 1/5 — Bases become faulty

*2024-09-03, version 1.1.0*

Loved these lights in the beginning but the base slowly breaks down in the year so that the pins don’t touch the lights and thus cannot charge and after warranty Casper does nothing, even though the product is faulty. It doesn’t make sense to buy new ones when they will do the same.

### 1/5 — Please add shortcuts support

*2022-12-22, version 1.1.0*

Currently works as a dumb light as there’s no way to trigger with siri or shortcuts.

### 1/5 — slow and buggy

*2022-03-06, version 1.1.0*

i hate that i don’t have an alternative to this app that i use every day. it’s so slow, it’s so buggy. can’t you make it work smoother, guys!? no updates in the past two years. there is plenty of room for improvement.

### 1/5 — Update the app

*2020-10-06, version 1.1.0*

Update the app! I’m sick and tired of having to restart my phone just for it to recognize a light is connected. Absolutely ridiculous.

### 1/5 — No updates in a year

*2020-08-20, version 1.1.0*

Obviously development of this app is not important 🤷🏻‍♂️

### 1/5 — Lights are Good...that’s about it

*2019-06-25, version 1.1.0*

The lights themselves are great, the app is one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Constant pairing issues, always says that firmware is updating for days upon days. Very disappointing product from a company that you would expect better from.

### 1/5 — Needs more than one wake up time

*2019-04-15, version 1.0.4*

Weekdays and weekends please

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Flame emoji

*2022-10-06, version 1.1.0*

Dopest product in the entire world

### 5/5 — I’m glowing

*2021-10-15, version 1.1.0*

Just received my Casper Glow and it’s a match made in heaven. Easy to use. Very intuitive. And, such a yummy warm glow. The app is great too.

Now I need four more!

### 5/5 — Add to Alexa Or Google

*2021-08-02, version 1.1.0*

Suggestion let customers link their amazon Alexa device or google nest device accounts that way the glow light can be controlled my your voice with a smart speaker or display thank you

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-09-28, version 1.1.0*

The app works well, it’s helpful and useful. Some integration with Apple home or Siri Shortcuts would be even better though, it’s the one feature I would really appreciate.

### 5/5 — Quality goods

*2020-09-12, version 1.1.0*

I bought a pair of glows one and half a year ago. It never disappointed me.
The Casper customer service is great.
I like the minimalism style of Casper.

### 5/5 — Great software meets great hardware

*2020-05-13, version 1.1.0*

Everything I’m looking for in a portable light. Wireless charging. Smooth easy to use app. Ultra portable.

### 5/5 — BRILLIANT

*2020-01-17, version 1.1.0*

Such a great light, has changed my evenings and my mornings. Could not recommend it highly enough!

### 5/5 — Love these lights

*2020-01-16, version 1.1.0*

These lights are amazing. Since we bought them I haven’t used our overhead bedside lights once. It looks like they fixed all the previous concerns about the wake up function in the app. I’m able to set a wake up time for any or all days just like in the Apple alarm app. It’s so nice to wake up to their gentle increasing glow. I recommend the lights and app whole heartedly.

### 5/5 — IFTTT?

*2020-01-08, version 1.1.0*

Does this work with IFTTT? It would be amazing to be able to control them with voice assistants and other apps. For example have all of the house lights turn off except these turn on for bedtime. Would be phenomenal!

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2019-07-26, version 1.1.0*

Now that you can set separate alarms for weekdays/weekends, I can't imagine what more I could want from the Glow. It is simply a wonderful product. Bravo, Casper
