## What is Casserole?

When someone you love has a new baby, a surgery, a loss, or just a brutal season, everyone asks the same question: "What can I bring?" Casserole is the answer, organized.

FOR THE ORGANIZER
• Set it up in five minutes: who it's for, the dates, lunch, dinner or both, drop-off instructions, dietary notes
• Send one link. That's the whole invitation — nothing for anyone to sign up for
• See the whole meal train on a calendar: which days are covered, which are still open
• Choose the days meals are actually needed — every other day, weekdays only, or one day at a time — so nobody drowns in lasagna
• Get a note when someone signs up, and a heads-up the evening before a day that's still open
• Run more than one meal train at once, and switch between them in a tap
• Friend texted you instead? Put their name down for any meal in a tap
• Send the meals still open as plain text to any group chat
• Occasions for real life: new baby, surgery & recovery, bereavement, illness, welcome to the neighborhood, just because

FOR EVERYONE HELPING
• Open the link, see the calendar, claim a day, say what you're bringing
• Dietary notes and door instructions travel with every meal — no nuts, ring the bell, the dog is friendly
• A reminder the morning of, so nobody's lasagna is forgotten
• Helping with one meal train never gets in the way of organizing your own
• On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, get dish suggestions that respect the household's dietary notes

FOR THE HOUSEHOLD
They see one calm calendar of covered days — not a group chat with forty-one messages about Tuesday.

WHAT YOU NEED
Casserole runs on iPhone and iPad, and uses iCloud to share the meal train. Helpers sign up from an iPhone or iPad too. Friends without one can text the organizer, who adds them to the calendar in a tap.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No accounts and no servers of ours. Everything lives in the organizer's own iCloud and is shared only with the people who get the link.

PRICING
Free to help. One-time purchase to organize. Anyone claiming a meal, claiming a need, or just checking the schedule pays nothing, ever — Casserole is free to download and free for everyone you send the link to. Setting up and organizing a meal train is a single one-time purchase, no subscription, yours for every train you ever run.

PLANNING A POTLUCK INSTEAD?
Casserole is for bringing meals to someone over days or weeks. For one get-together where everyone brings a dish, try Tablescape, our app for hosting dinners and potlucks: guest list, RSVPs, and a bring list guests claim themselves. Your first dinner is free.

Show up with dinner. It says more than the card does.

### 1/5 — Link not working for non Apple contributors!

*2026-09-29*

I have no idea how to reach out to the developers and the people that want to help can’t get in the calendar if they have Android 🤷🏽‍♀️
I’m upset I paid for this and can’t really use it

**Developer response:** You're right, and I'm sorry. Today, helpers need an iPhone or iPad, and I'm sorry we didn't make that clear enough before. Based on your feedback I'm looking into what can be done since the intention was to maintain things as private as possible which is what led to using iOS with iCloud for this vs a database. In the immediate I'm going to build a way for you to sign someone up for the meal train, and a way to share the open slots via text. After that, I'm going to try to find a way to handle allowing users to turn on a method for external helpers who aren't on iOS. If you'd like a refund, you can request one through apple and we'll understand. You can always reach us at support@zossoz.com to discuss more though.

## Frequently asked questions about Casserole

### How do I set up a meal train with Casserole?

Setting up a meal train in Casserole is designed to be quick, taking about five minutes. You'll input details about who the meals are for, the dates meals are needed, and any specific instructions or dietary notes. The app then generates a single link to share with helpers.

### Is Casserole free to use for everyone?

Casserole is free to download and use for anyone who is helping with a meal train, claiming a meal, or checking the schedule. The organizer, however, has a one-time purchase to enable them to set up and manage the meal trains.

### What devices does Casserole support?

Casserole runs on both iPhone and iPad. Helpers can also sign up from an iPhone or iPad. Friends without these devices can communicate their meal contributions via text to the organizer, who can then add them to the calendar.

### How does Casserole handle privacy?

Casserole is designed with privacy in mind. It does not require accounts or use external servers. All meal train data is stored within the organizer's iCloud and is only shared with individuals who receive the event link.

### Can I organize multiple meal trains at once?

Yes, you can run more than one meal train simultaneously. The app allows you to easily switch between different meal trains with a single tap, making it convenient to manage support for multiple individuals or families.

### What happens if I forget to bring a meal?

Helpers receive a reminder the evening before their scheduled meal day. This helps ensure that no meal contributions are forgotten, and the household receives consistent support throughout the designated period.

### Does Casserole offer dish suggestions?

On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, Casserole can provide dish suggestions that take into account the household's dietary notes. This feature helps helpers choose meals that are appropriate and welcomed by the recipient.

### How often is Casserole updated?

The latest version of Casserole is 1.2.1, and it was last updated on October 2, 2026. While specific update frequency isn't detailed, this indicates ongoing development and support for the application.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-02

Friends without an iPhone can help now too.

• Put a friend's name down for any meal. If someone texts you instead of using the app, add them in a tap, and fix or remove the sign-up later.
• Send the meals that are still open as a simple text, for any group chat.
• The invitation now says plainly that the link opens on iPhone and iPad, and tells everyone else how to sign up.
• Questions or a problem? You can now reach us from inside the app.
• Planning one potluck instead? Casserole now points you to Tablescape, our app made for that.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-30

Setting up a meal train now works from the very first tap — and the invitation goes out right away.

• Before you set up a meal train, Casserole now checks that iCloud is ready. If it isn't, you'll see exactly what to fix (sign in, turn on iCloud Drive for Casserole, or reconnect).
• If setting up doesn't go through, everything you typed is kept, and one tap tries again.
• Right after setup: send the invitation in one tap, or copy just the link.
• Invitations now end with a link to Casserole on the App Store, so anyone without the app can get it in a tap.
• Fixed a problem where setup could sit waiting on iCloud instead of saying what was wrong.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-11

More than one meal train, a calendar, and a note when someone signs up.

• Run more than one meal train at a time. Switch between them from the name at the top — and helping with someone else's no longer means leaving your own.
• The Meals tab now has a calendar: every day at a glance, taken, still open, or not needed.
• Organizers can choose which days need meals — every day, every other day, weekdays, weekends, or one day at a time — and whether it's lunch, dinner or both.
• Get a note when someone signs up, and a reminder the evening before a day that's still open. Turn it off anytime in Details.
• Fixed a problem where a meal train could get stuck on "Opening the meal train…" after reopening the app.
• Clearer messages when iCloud or the App Store can't be reached, including when Restore Purchase finds nothing to restore.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-20

No release notes.
