Every time I open the app it takes minimum of 30 seconds to become responsive and just sits there frozen. I nearly gave up on the thing. There’s no way to tell if it is working and the icons are clickable. However, I loved the concept of using the videos that were part of the years when the videos that were recorded, it is absolutely amazing. I also do love those glitchy VHS effects, when you press eject twice, and there’s no tape, and the TV is displaying different TV effects that reminds of VHS. Though this app is missing something, though I love it. I bought the full product and I think it will be useful to me, not for the reason the developer might have thought, but more for the ability to expose lots of videos that should have been deleted immediately after they were made. I have a lot of bad video clips that don't deserve the space they are occupying! The UI is straight out of an app from 2008. Shuffle doesn't seem to work and I have to pay $8 to select a video? I might’ve payed if it included a lot more features but considering it’s the only feature available it would be a hard nope. Unless the price was significantly lowered. Either than that it’s an alright app tho, I see the vision! I just hope we’ll get a lot more features like creating playlists, customizing the look on said playlist, being able to organize stuff not just by date; a rewind fast forward feature like the good old days etc. like maybe we’ve downloaded a whole show or movie unto our photo app but we want a more interesting experience in terms of watching it. ### 4/5 — Very fun idea but needs cloud integration *2026-03-14, version 2026.1* The concept for this app is a lot of fun, it’s a nice way to rediscover old videos. But since most of my videos are in Google Photos, the app is missing a large swath of old videos not stored on my device. I appreciate making a shortcut for it too, I can start a shuffle cossette straight from a lock screen, good job man. I was using it for almost 2 months now, came back to thank you ### 5/5 — My favorite new app in years *2025-10-04, version 2025.7* For years I’ve been looking for (and gradually considering just making) a no-fuss app that stitches together short videos taken around the same place and time into one video that’s more convenient to watch and keeps all that metadata generally intact. Never found one that does it quite the way I want. This also isn’t that app, but the way it presents all those little videos as one “tape” is as if that app I want exists and was used to make the videos I’m watching here. It’s such a delight to watch a bunch of short phone videos this way, and of course the VHS presentation makes the experience even better than what I’d been wanting all this time. Such a fun experience on multiple levels.
