Insane is not insane as normal seems harder. -When you have a certain build in my rules you cannot place a card on table and have to pick what you build up making it a skill to get a sweep. (Clareza) -points should be to 31 and not 21 -2 pairs (teams) computer would be a nice feature -maybe adding a timer for each player turn would be fun adding a speed and hectic game feature. ### 2/5 — Wrong Dealing ruins building *2025-07-25, version 2.5* Your Rule Wrong! “ …and then draws a card so that they have four cards in their hand again.” No! Only when all players finish playing their 4 cards are you supposed to deal 4 more to each! If I am building, and the opponent cannot take my build, but gets another card dealt immediately, they have greater chances of stealing my continuing builds, multiple card builds. But hey it's only math and this seems to escape this app quite easily. Would give it zero stars if I could. Quite often seems to have the stack I made. Not a fun experience anymore when I’m yelling at an AI. ### 3/5 — Huge bug! *2024-08-30, version 2.4.1* I have been playing this game for years. This morning while playing it on the very first hand I picked up a 10 with a 10. Then I drew another 10. One of my opponents, then built 10’s which I took with the 10 in my hand. I then drew the 10 of diamonds. That was now four 10’s. Then the opponent down the fifth 10. I built Kings by adding a three which I was able to pick up. Then the other opponent built 10’s and picked it up with the sixth 10 in the deck. this is not the first time that I have noticed this in the game, but it is the first time that it was so blatant! ### 2/5 — Just not fun *2024-08-22, version 2.4.1* I love playing this card game with friends so I thought I’d try this app. The problem is that the “computer’s” hands ALL seem to have every single card needed to make the play every single time. I’ve only been dealt the 10 of diamonds once. It’s a good app but it’s quite difficult even at the easy level. ### 3/5 — Good game but with issues *2024-06-14, version 2.4.1* I don’t normally leave reviews but I feel the need. I have played 2516 games in the hard mode and am at 56% win percentage. I just started the insane level and have played 216 games and I am at 39%. I have been playing this game for almost 60 years with real cards. I win way more games with real cards. I read you say the cards are dealt randomly. I don’t agree. I don’t make many mistakes and I can truthfully say IMHO the AI machine driving this game is slanted toward the computer. There are way too many instances where the computer gets a particularly needed card at the right time. Also I see way too many times of 4 of a kind show up in both hands. There are many other nuances regarding the cards dealt that seem to go to the computer. Hard to put in writing but my gut feeling is that this game needs a new AI machine. ### 3/5 — Thought it was just me *2024-03-14, version 2.4.1* So the gameplay itself is good in comparison to some other apps I’ve tried. This one is pretty easy to use. However, there are obvious advantages given to the computer that are not allowed for the user. For example: The board has a 2 and the computer is building 8 with a 5 & 3 together. The game will not allow me the option to pick up that 2 and 8building with a 10 card. Whereas the computer IS able to make such a move. As well as the other issues listed in previous reviews. Simply put, the computer is able to make moves that the actual user cannot. ### 3/5 — Good game, would be great but the computer does cheat. *2024-01-20, version 2.4.1* I can beat the game at any level, that is not a problem. The issue is that the computer can make a multi move build that it does not have the cards for in its hand. There is an option for this and I have it turned off, but the computer will still do this. Example: The computer will build 3 and 4 for 7 and then add an Ace to make 8, but does not have a 7 in its current hand. It has done this to me multiple times on different levels of difficulty. Outside of this, it is a great game with great options. They can’t connect. ### 5/5 — Excellent Implementation of Cassino! *2025-11-02, version 2.5* I have been playing Cassino since my childhood and even created a Cassino computer game in Windows years ago, so I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable about the game. Michael Dokken’s implementation is first rate and provides a worthy opponent. The UX is clean and intuitive and very enjoyable to use. I just read another review that claimed it didn’t follow the rules, the cards dealt were not random and overall played poorly. That is ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT! Please take a look at the various configuration options and settings before posting a baseless negative review! I play with the difficulty set to “Hard” and find that I win a little over 50% of the time, which is what I would expect as a skilled player. The highest difficulty level (called “Insane”) is quite a challenge to beat and my guess is that it keeps track of the cards that are played and uses probability and statistics to give itself super human skills. If you play at this level be prepared to be humbled! Don’t hesitate to try this fabulous implementation of the best card game there is - Cassino! I spent many hours playing it with her. She passed in 1997 and, besides my brother (who used to play with me and my grandmother) and one friend from college who happened to know the game, I never could find anyone else to play cassino with. Then I found this app. The game-play can be customized to play they way you're used to playing. The app is designed and works well. Every time I play it, I remember the great times I had playing with my grandmother.
