It happens about 3-4 times in a hour and half minute podcast ### 2/5 — Buggy *2022-10-14, version 1.1.3* Buggy when skipping forward/backward. Stops and goes a handful of times. Close the app, restart, and try again. Update: Also have to turn phone off and back on to play a different podcast track. Playback timer no longer works. Can no longer skip forward or backward within a track. But, there are a few things that would be really helpful to make this a stand out product 1) Let me download the podcasts in the app so I can listen to them on planes or when out of cellphone range. There is apparently an arduous process of downloading from the website, but haven’t successfully accomplished that. 2) Automatically save my place in the podcast instead of going back to the beginning each time a want to restart. Now it won’t let me login because it sent a code to my email that I have yet to receive after a week of resending multiple times. ### 1/5 — Non-Starter *2021-08-22, version 1.0.6* Passwordless login is a fad and needs to stop. It’s neither convenient nor is it anywhere close to a good user experience. When the email services won’t send a login code (yep, I checked my spam filter), I can’t use this app. Ironically, I have my username and password but I can’t login to my own Castos account. Might want to get some tests and observability around your services. This is a pretty bad fail. ### 1/5 — No longer works *2021-08-21, version 1.0.6* I somehow got logged off the app maybe with a recent update. I try to log in with email so that I can get the code and no email is ever sent. I checked spam and everywhere else at least 10 times. I deleted the app and tried the whole thing all over again only to fail. No Bueno! ### 1/5 — Piece of crap *2021-07-28, version 1.0.1* How can you have an app that is so hard to register? After trying to login 8 times it keeps sending me the “magic link” just let me login already! So, all episodes show up in the “all” tab even if they are unplayed. It is such a nuisance to scroll through all episodes to try to remember which ones have been listened to. An accurate “already played” tab would help or fix the current “unplayed” tab so ALL UNPLAYED EPISODES actually show up. I wish Confessionals would just create a premium member stream for itunes/spotify. ### 1/5 — No bookmark option. *2023-04-02, version 1.1.10* Please add a bookmark option. Seems like a basic feature that any podcast provider must have. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t save your place *2022-08-10, version 1.0.63* I am BEGGING you (whomever that may be) PLEASE fix it so your place in a given episode is saved if you have to pause. I listen to The Confessionals while working and if I have to pause to take a call, my episode restarts from the beginning. Makes it almost not worth paying to be a member or supporter for podcasts. ### 1/5 — Loading issues *2022-07-20, version 1.0.56* I use spotify, rokfin and now this app. This is the only app i have issues loading episodes. Downloaded this app to listen to “the confessionals”, constant issues trying to play episodes. Sometimes closing the app and trying again works, sometimes it doesnt. Canceling membership for the confessionals. ### 1/5 — This is the worst podcast app I have ever encountered *2022-01-18* The UI when it works is not great. No way to search prior sources or episodes. And then there is the reliability . Terrible rarely works constantly buffers . Only use this if you are forced to. However, When I try to log into Castos on multiple devices (same Apple ID, iCloud, etc) it doesn’t work. I’m immediately logged out of one and into the other. Kind of a bummer ### 3/5 — Decent but … *2023-02-11, version 1.1.10* Well, the podcasts appear in your library seamlessly and play. You can adjust the playback speed and volume. There is a download feature which absolutely does not work for me on my iPhone, so I can’t listen offline. Right now, it just keep playing and playing, eventually waking you up if you fall asleep listening to an episode. Remember where I left off in an episode. Would love the ability to download episodes to my phone. Update: Now the app remembers where I left off, but I’m unable to play any other episode! If I click on a new podcast, it keeps jumping back to where I left off in the previous episode.
