The story is amazing and I like the vast variety of gear you can get. Also, the conditions part is really fun. But I did have a glitch once where I turned off my phone one day, and the next, when I turned it on, the entire storyline had restarted. But I still had all the stuff I had gotten so far in the game. Including things like water walking. I had already finished the game, so it didn’t really matter, but this could be bad for players who haven’t finished the storyline. ### 5/5 — Amazing game but... *2020-11-29, version 1.5.56* This game is a masterpiece. It is very fun and the setting an$ storyline is good too And I really like how when you play it looks like your are walking on a map. The bosses are hard and fun to battle against too. The bad things about it are the fact that it is very hard to play without controller. But you can play it on laptop and it is easy to play on that device. Last thing is there is WAY too many boring and not funny cat puns. So I think you should get it. Devs, if you’re reading this, do you know where I could find a bug forum to report bugs on? Because I think I accidentally found a big one. XD Just in case there’s not a bug forum, I’ll post it here. I was using Old Master Body for my melee character, the cat. And although it is supposed to lower my max hp, it actually raised it... to 2,147,483,647. I’m pretty sure this is not supposed to happen, as healing at a save stone pretty much makes me unkillable with this much hp. I’m on an iPad 6th generation, latest iPadOS update. I have completed the game but still have a few side quests to finish up. I’ve played the epilogue once, and completed the game practically just before the update. ### 5/5 — Awesome. *2020-08-07, version 1.5.26* So the game isn’t very long it took me less than 2 days to beat so for me it had good story and stuff you don’t really have to do much other than story because most story quests and stuff give you most the stuff you need so no real grinding only maybe a few Dungeons and stuff and the story quests will get you far enough to beat it and also if/when cat quest comes out that will probably be cool and overall it’s a good game! More: I’m still playing and it does have allot of stuff like lonely cave: which has a level 200 hedgehog thing and some armor and a sword which is nothing I guess? It’s cool and I’m planning to try and get everything ### 5/5 — Cat Quest II *2020-07-19, version 1.4* I am a roleplay, and cat lover. When I saw cat quest (The first one), I was disappointed that It cost money. A while later, Arcade came out and I got it. I was extremely excited to see cat quest II. I downloaded it, and found out, you can use a Xbox controller. The gameplay is amazing, with a beautiful landscape. Warning: the game is addicting 😂 I recommend this game for anybody bored in quarantine. ### 5/5 — I loved it. *2020-06-08, version 1.4* I don’t write to many reviews but this game I had to. There were a couple things I would have changed. You are kind of lost as to what armor weapon and type of magic to use. I also thought it would be better to have been able to zoom in and out while gameplay. But this was a fun simple game to play. ### 5/5 — Fun but short *2020-05-25, version 1.4* It’s a fun game. Took about 12-15 hrs of play time over 3 days to complete though. Therefore it’s rather short. Game is straight forward, the controls on the touch screen are easy to master. I like the Easter eggs in the game, although I know I didn’t find everything. I wish there was a way to place a marker on the map or even a way to check the caves and towers that aren’t found. Or even a way to zoom out to see the entire map. It would make them easier to find. (I am playing on iPhone 8 Plus so maybe in iPad it’s better.) Overall it’s a fun game. ### 5/5 — I love the reference in this game *2020-03-12, version 1.4* I recently discovered that they referenced Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series. It appears as a side quest to help find some treasure and when I saw that was his name I absolutely loved it. If only they added a Victor Sullivan. Other than that, the game is very well made and has beautiful graphics. It can also be challenging but it makes even more fun if you start a mission 10 levels higher than what you have. Although I would like a map. ### 5/5 — Best game ever *2020-03-07, version 1.4* I play it so much because it is so fun I am at level 500 (because I’m a pro gamer) it is like the only game I play. I have one question through. In cat quest 3 where there be a new kingdom like rabbits or bear or bird or whatever? Either you answer or not (hopefully yes) this game is amazing! I normal just play 3D but this beat all of them, and I have a lot of games. Can’t wait for cat quest 3, bye! ### 5/5 — Cat lover- obsessed! *2020-02-01, version 1.4* This game is simply incredible. It’s challenging, but not in a bad way- and the characters are adorable! Anyways, I’m going to list pros and cons PROS: -Beautiful art style!!! Simple, yet amazing! -Adorable characters! Love the idea of a world of cats and dogs! -Funny Jokes! There is some humor in the game-which I love- but just enough to where the game is still serious -Never crashes (for me, at least. I’m not sure about other players) -SAVES PROGRESS! That is a HUGE deal, since I feel like a lot of the Arcade games don’t. -Just really addictive! -Fun to play- I don’t really get stuck that much I’m sure there’s more, but I’ve listed A LOT CONS (is there even any?) -Sometimes the places you have to go have harder enemies, but there’s no way to level up your armor or strength. (I’m not sure if that’s just me missing something though) -The maps are huge, and sometimes it’s really hard to find where you need to go. Like I said though, not many cons! This is my absolute FAVORITE Arcade game, and I would get arcade just for this game. (Well, that and Guildlings) Five stars FOR SURE, since this is a long adventure game that’s hard to get bored of! -KiwitheTuber ### 5/5 — Catacular game! *2020-01-11, version 1.4* Cat Quest 2 is a well designed game with good controls, a fun story, tones of ruffrences, and more puns the my review! The world is purrty large with a lot to do so it never feels empty. Every turn there is a new dungeon, quest, chest, or a 3 round arena. You get weapons, armor, and spells and you can mix and match with both characters to make your purrfect duo of catdog. You should download this game meow and have a blast! This definitely a must have game, just don’t ruff up the messenger, he did nothing wrong (you will know when you meet him) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Way too hard *2021-09-28, version 1.5.56* I use a controller so no complaints about that, but geez I keep dying within minutes of a fight. This game is way too hard to be fun. I’ll keep trying a bit more and see what happens (maybe I need more upgrades I don’t know about) I’ll change the review if it gets easier, if not I’ll just move to another game; I don’t have much patience for constantly dying. Edit: yup no this is ridiculous, I keep dying after half a minute fighting any enemies except hedgehogs. I can’t do anything anymore as I ran out of them and not enough money to upgrade my stuff. I restarted the game to easy mode (can’t change to easy mode in the middle of the game, have to start over) and that was definitely better in the beginning but now I’m reaching that point again where I keep dying. Also, though initially the graphics seem great, until you discover it’s all a bit of the same and the graphics get boring. The collectible items aren’t all that great, (besides one weapon) you can only wear 2 items and you have to switch between everything the whole time (not just switch weapons). I really can’t be bothered with this game anymore… too bad because the concept is great. ### 1/5 — Controls are done in the least optimal way *2020-01-27, version 1.4* Controls are super jank, first the dodge roll is a double tap in the direction you want to go, and attack is just tapping the enemy you want to attack, what this means is in tight spaces or where there are multiple enemies you can’t dodge in the direction you want. Additionally to move you have to tap where on the screen you would like to go or hold your finger on the spot to continuously move in that direction, this is extremely annoying as you have to use both hands all the time to properly reach across the screen, and it is annoying/boring just tapping and waiting. A touch joy stick type deal that is commonly used in these kinds of games would be much better, then you could double tap while moving to roll in whatever direction easily and can move more fluidly in combat or roam with one hand. Also the spell selection controls could be optimized better as well. I’m not really surprised by poor optimization, basically all apple arcade games feel rushed. ### 1/5 — Apple TV doesn’t sync *2019-11-13, version 1.3.5* I started this game on my iPad before Arcade launched on Apple TV. It syncs to my phone but not Apple TV. Other games sync to Apple TV and it’s more fun to use a controller that way. I emailed their support and they never replied. They updated the game a week later saying they fixed sync issues but they didn’t fix this. I don’t want to start over and I don’t want to be restricted to playing this on iPad, so I have stopped playing it altogether. Maybe I will come back to this game if I can continue the game I started on Apple TV, but they never responded and so many more great games are being released, so maybe I won’t ever play it again. ### 2/5 — Forces You To Delete Progress *2022-08-30, version 1.7.7* This would be a pretty fun game if I didn’t have the same issue as others have mentioned in these reviews. It’s a really bizarre issue too. I downloaded and played this game for the first time yesterday. It was quite a bit of fun if not really hard at the same time. Yet, today I open the title and click Start and I’m greeted with a screen where I either have to start over from the beginning or overwrite my progress from yesterday and essentially start over the beginning again. Why is this game designed that way? That’s completely bonkers and makes no sense at all. Why can I not play from save point from the last time I played, Cat Quest 2? So, considering that either intentional game design or ridiculous bug, well, I’m done with this title. I just don’t get why this problem has been amply repeated and the developer doesn’t seem to want to fix it? That or they designed the game so that you lose all that progress you’ve made every time you go back into the game? Either option is insane in my opinion. If, Cat Quest 2, is ever updated so that we can play it normally and have it save our progress. Then I’ll be happy to play it again and update my review accordingly. As it stands now, though, I would advise other potential players to steer way clear of this video game. ### 3/5 — Deletes new saves *2021-05-04, version 1.5.56* Be careful if you’re starting a new game. I had an old save file but it had been so long since playing I decided to start from the beginning and I had already made it close to lvl 40 but when I went to open the app again it MADE me select one to overwrite and didn’t give me the option to pick my new game. It gave me my old game twice and completely erased my new game. Other then that I would have given the game 5 stars. So if your playing for a second time delete your old data first! ### 3/5 — Doesn’t save *2020-06-13, version 1.4* At first this game was really good and fun and I would’ve rated it five stars. But now when Igor to one of the main quests I had gotten half way and then exited the game and when I came back it made me restart it. Ok that’s fine I got to where I was and finished that quest. BUT NOW I just opened it and I had gotten to the first kings quest and had died so I was doing side quests to up my characters and level up and I had done a couple dungeons and now I’m back at the start of the first Kong’s quest again. So it deleted all my progress of my side quests that I had done earlier today and that’s just really bad for me cuz they took me a while. My rating will change when this games save options will, maybe a button to be able to save it manually or something ### 4/5 — Amazing game but i would like a few changes. *2022-12-25, version 1.7.7* As i said, amazing game, i just would like some things changed. First, since it showed two crowns at the start of the game, i would like it if once you defeat Lioner we could get a crown as hat / Head armor and their weapons. Second, since in CQ-1 ( Cat Quest One ) there was A boat in a cutscene, instead of water walking it could be something like “Kingsboat” or “Kingsraft” or something like that. What I’m saying is instead of getting water walking form the first Governor you get a special boat or raft. Third, I would like a way to get Kit’s ( Or Hotto’s )hammer / Weapon, like through a quest or something like that. Lastly, I personally think that the level recommendations are way too high, i beat Lioner while Lvl 70 using Excalipurr. Thank you for reading this, and if you are about to get the game and are looking at this, do not take this as a reason you should not buy the game, it’s a fantastic game and you really should play it -Some random guy ### 4/5 — I love this game but…. *2022-07-17, version 1.7.7* i absolutely love this game because you can choose the different quests to do on it! it’s a really awesome story but there are a few things that i hate about it. the data saves are awful because it erased all my data on a file i beat the game with. i was so upset because i had to redo it all. this also happened recently as i was retrying to beat the game. i would like if the developers were to fix that. thank you! ### 4/5 — Not better than the last *2022-04-02, version 1.7.7* Look, I love the cat quest games but this one was meh. The ending was basically a repeat of the last. things I did like was the remake of the quests and how you could reset that progress. I also liked how you could fast travel and upgrade weapons and armor. But okay I’m kinda saying that it’s not that bad after all, It’s good please make more regions -DragonMasterSuperstar ### 4/5 — Deleted some progress *2020-11-22, version 1.5.56* I would give this game 5 stars, and it deserves it, if not for one thing. I opened the game one day, and it said to choose one file to overwrite. I didn’t even click anything, and there was no exit button, and I had no choice but delete a file I worked really hard on, and beat the game on, and all kinds of things. PLEASE FIX THIS! I am ok with it now, but if it does this again, which it will and has, I don’t know what I will do. Otherwise, this is a great game, and I actually liked it better than Cat Quest 1, and so you should definitely get it, just be careful and patient, because it may delete your progress. Now, this might just be me, and in that case I will be annoying, but I’ll live. If you can fix it though, please do. I love the entire cat quest series, and it is terrible when it breaks or something like that. Please make more games like this, and if you have, tell me. This game has it all. Fun, funny, strategy, replay ability. I just bought Cat Quest I and hope to see Cat Quest III soon! What a great way to get my RPG fix on the iPad. There are moments of challenge that feel frustrating but are not unsurpassable if the player goes back to exploring and side quests to build up what’s needed. I went in a vacation for my grandmother’s birthday, and I started on the car ride there. I am now about to end the game after non-stop playing it all weekend on the way home. It is very addictive. Although I do wish there is a way to get around the map faster. Even when you get the water walking ability it still takes some time to get from Felingard to Lupus. I absolutely adore the art style aswell as the puns included in the dialogue. It is a beautifully made game and I suggest it to most. I give the creators a thank you for making this amazing experience of a game. I have been absolutely blown away by every single aspect of this game so far and hope to inform anyone who is thinking about getting it. Firstly, you may (or may not) have some trouble leveling up once you get to levels 5-10, but you can easily get past this by doing side quests of lower levels. All the quests give you a good amount of experience and the main story has a steady pace, so it will keep you busy for a good hour or two. Throughout the story you play as a cat and dog saving the kitty and doggie kingdoms, which is obvious, but what isn’t mentioned are the funny side missions. Like Doge Knight(Dark knight) or the way the writers have used cat and dog puns for literally every character. I liked playing with a controller so I could sit back and truly experience this game.
