Please fix! ### 3/5 — Good concept- makes data collection easy (when it works….) *2022-02-23, version 22.2.17.33836* When I am really frustrated with the website lagging, the app not updating or showing the wrong programs or all the reports from my RBTs that such and such isn’t working in Catalyst- AGAIN! I try to remind myself that it is much less time consuming than keeping a binder. So when it’s working it’s fabulous, but it’s glitchy way too often for a tool need for accurate and consistent data collection. ### 2/5 — User-friendly to appoint *2022-02-14, version 22.1.27.33817* I’ve had to delete this and re-upload it I don’t know how many times. Once you get to know the system it’s easy to know but it’s a hassle to have to offloaded from your phone. Right now I’m dealing with a situation where I can’t even download it anymore. It doesn’t show up as an option to download and when it does I click on the little cloud with the arrow and it won’t download even though I have space on my phone. It doesn’t make sense. ### 4/5 — Reset *2021-12-09, version 21.12.2.33740* I have used catalyst since August l. Every day it resets all the data and targets and behaviors at the bottom however after the last update it failed to reset for the next day. Might wsnt to fix that. ### 2/5 — Formatting Issues With Keyboard & Issues with Syncing *2020-11-04, version 20.10.22* When typing with a Bluetooth keyboard, the whole screen would turn black instead of text appearing. I would have to restart the app and input information again. Also, The app doesn’t show that it syncs everything and would show the same data from the day before unless I close the app and reopen ### 1/5 — One of the worst apps in the store *2018-07-28, version 4.18.1* I’m not one for writing reviews but I had to so that this can hopefully reach the developers and they get to read it and do something about it. This app is by far the ugliest app from a UI stand point. It is also so complicated in its functions that it literally requires training to understand how to use the app and navigate the different menus. If it wasn’t for the fact that the institute we go through requires it I wouldn’t use it at all. Aside from the UI, functions and navigations, the app actually crashes a lot, it is extremely buggy, and certain menus don’t really work inside the app like they do on a computer. ### 3/5 — Does the job but could be more user-friendly *2018-01-12, version 4.15.4* I used this at a school when working as an ABA early intervention aide and the “no” should be called “incorrect” to differentiate from “no response.” There should be a in-between option for the +/- prompts if the child begins making attempts but still needs the prompt. And when showing all the programs all at once, it messes up the data collection for that particular day, and it’s too time consuming to keep going back and forth for each program. Needs to be more user friendly. ### 4/5 — It’s a great tool *2017-11-18, version 4.15.0* As an ABA therapist (BA) it’s an amazing tool to use to collect data. I’ve been using the app for almost two years. The best update was when you allowed us to be able to add notes and save them as drafts. Sometimes after a three hour session it would be hard to remember all those great moments during session. Now I don’t need to wait! I can add them throughout session and it’s so useful. I’m not sure if it’s because of the newest update but Lately I’ve been having issues with my app crashing. If I’m collecting video data, it crashes after about a minute. If I’m simply collecting data on my targets it will occasionally crash and close me out of the app. Could you guys please fix this! Especially the video component because I have been using it frequently and I’ve been missing these specific moments because the app crashes. Thanks!!!! (Still an wonderful app) ### 4/5 — Extremely Helpful!!! *2015-01-15, version 4.5.4* This app is amazing for ABA. However, there are a few things that need to be changed. During most of my sessions, the kids use my iPad and when I get it back Catalyst usually ends the session and I have to log in again. It's a big time waster. Please increase the idle time. Another problem is that I can't edit or delete the notes that I have published. Often times I write my notes and I realize I left something important out. And since I can't go back and edit them it stops me from including that information. Please add an edit button. Other than those 2 problems I love using this app. Great job ### 5/5 — Love it! *2013-05-23, version 3.5.0* I am a BCBA and used excel before Catalyst. This is such a time saver! My data is immediately entered from my iPad or iPhone and I can analyze it so many different ways. You will love it. Some reviewers ding it for the subscription fee but I still think it's worth it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don’t get this *2023-05-02* Worst data collection app I have ever encountered with a complete lack of follow up and care for their current clients. Data becomes unusable and the therapist and bcba end up doing paper and pencil calculations to get correct data due to the unfixed bugs to their program. The new app they developed is especially faulty and inaccurate. I am so disappointed in this company! They would get a zero if I could fly ie that to then get any other data collection app than this one! ### 1/5 — Too many bugs. *2022-03-14, version 22.2.17.33836* This app used to work wonderfully but over the last two years it has been extremely glitchy to the point where I can’t do my job often. Treatment plans don’t pull, data and notes won’t sync, and we have expressed concerns to the company but bugs still don’t get fixed. We have had some issues that lasted over a year that prevent us from taking accurate data. Better scroll through all others previously submitted with no sense of order first! If you’re looking for a data collection app that consistently crashes, loses saved data, and generally lacks organization, this is the one for you! ### 1/5 — worthless *2021-10-14, version 21.10.09* This app, and system as a whole, are absolutely worthless and not worth the money. I’ve had countless issues that I need to reach out to support for and get absurd makeshift solutions that are impossible to keep up with. Im unable to see students, i’m unable to see programs that are put in and show up on the website but not in the app, and there’s issues where it records incorrect data and i’m told to check for accurate data with the therapist that took it. Isnt that the job of the app?? This holds up A LOT and makes a lot of things very very inaccurate. Please choose something else. ### 1/5 — Needs an upgrade or delete the system *2021-05-19, version 21.05.12* Honestly I have had so much problems with this system. I really hope they fix having the data to be on one device at least. I have messed up my data and when I try to go back to fix it, it would not delete on the tablet my company gave me, which results with inaccurate data, great! Programs that my supervisor says she puts in, not in there. So I wasted my time in session doing certain programs that appear then disappear. I’m constantly suggesting my supervisors and this company I’m with to switch to another database system. I have re loaded this app at least 5 times on both tablet and iPhone devices. Yes, it will work on your iPhone, but not all programs are there, if you have no bad experiences, your one the lucky ones. This app is also time consuming when you input data. Putting up to 3-5 trials it goes all the way to the top every single time I put data in which is also time consuming. I rather do paper data then use this system. It makes it frustrating and challenging for therapists like me to do their job. I use both the tablet and my phone to take data which increases my session note time to over 20 minutes and it’s suppose to be 10-15 minutes. Y’all should figure out why there is so much issues using this app, it would help therapist do their job with less stress. ### 1/5 — I have no choice *2020-12-18, version 20.12.16* With every update, it seems that the developers think to themselves “How can we make this app worse?”. If this is true, then they are incredibly successful. Features that used to be there, don’t work anymore, and instead of helping my sessions, it hinders them. The only reason I use this app and will ever is because it’s the one my work uses. I’ve used Centralreach in the past with much better results. ### 1/5 — The phone app is really lacking *2020-10-22, version 20.9.24* It used to be useable but now takes months to update. My clients goals have been mastered and update in the website and iPad app months ago and still have not updated in the app. It’s been months. I used it in a pinch the other day and the data still has not uploaded into the system. Completely unreliable which makes it unusable. ### 1/5 — Please Fix *2020-10-13, version 20.9.24* I’m literally screaming in frustration at my tablet when I use this app for work. I’d wish my company switch over to a different app, due to the many errors I see when using. First, when doing the task analysis (for any trial a kid may have) the -/+ buttons to input data don’t even work! It doesn’t let me select a - or a + once the child finishes one part of the task. So frustrating seeing as the task will continue and your there fiddling with it to work and miss the opportunity with the client to see progress. Then I might have to exit out many times and restart app during trail; making client frustrated as I’m not in the moment with them and I myself frustrated for this inconvenience. Cant even see all of the steps of total task chaining as well, only on step can be shown due to the “notebook graphic” they are trying to go with. If the bugs/ lagging can be fixed, as well as the notebook graphic into a more simpler design, this app would be great. ### 1/5 — Sad sad sad - do not recommend *2019-11-06, version 19.10.16* Our ABA clinic attempted to use catalyst, but after years of absolute and utter ... well I can’t even find the words to say it... JUST waste. Let’s just call it a massive waste... of thousands and thousands of dollars. Lost data is a NORMAL thing for this company. They were unconcerned related to issues that resulted in hipaa breeches between clients and just had a total disregard or care for accuracy. Quick data sync, everything goes to the cloud so no data is lost. The interface also includes visuals indicating if minimum trials were met in the session. It does have some bugs and issues that it needs to work out, but what software/app doesn’t. The team at Catalyst is always looking for user feedback and working to improve the app constantly to make it more user friendly and easy to use. ### 5/5 — Makes Data Collection a Breeze *2020-02-20, version 20.02.12* Originally when I entered the field I started with paper data and excel. Then, I used Central Reach. However, nothing compares to Catalyst. Catalyst is a lot more user friendly and on boarding was a breeze. I enjoy the ability to create programs and store them in my library. The app has been a great tool for my RBTs on the go collecting data. I am very pleased with the the layout of the app and the fact that it can be used on my tablet or phone. ### 5/5 — 99% performance...PLEASE FIX THE 1% MALFUNCTION: SOAP NOTE *2019-05-04, version 19.04.18* I like the app and it is an asset to the art of collecting data, however; I can not record soap notes from my iPhone. There is no option or tab for this. The tab always appears on my other devices, tablet and even my IPad. I have installed several times hoping to correct this error. Please advise ASAP, this malfunction is hindering my speed and accuracy required within a therapy session.. time is of essence and data collection has to be quick and easy. I use my iPhone for proficiency and convenience, however; I have to change over to my tablet or laptop to write my summarize SOAP note. Other than this one issue...all other functionalities can be viewed at 100%.
