## What is Catch a Bit?

Catch a Bit is a cozy little fishing game with a chunky pixel-art heart.
Cast your line, wait for the bobber to dip, and reel in your catch — one
calm, satisfying tug at a time.

There are 250 fish to discover across six dreamy locations, from the
gentle Lily Pond all the way down to the lightless Abyss. Every fish you
land is logged in your Fishdex, and the coins you earn buy better rods and
  bait to chase ever-rarer species.

  HOW IT PLAYS
  - Tap to cast, then tap again the moment the bobber bobs to set the hook
  - Win the reel mini-game: hold to reel in, ease off before the line snaps
  - Watch for fighting fish that lunge and thrash on their way up

  WHAT YOU'LL DO
  - Collect all 250 species and complete your Fishdex
  - Unlock six fishing spots, each with its own fish and mood
  - Buy and equip rods, each with a signature strength — faster bites, a
smoother reel, or better luck at the rare ones
  - Stock up on bait to boost your odds of hooking legendaries and mythics
  - Sell your catch, trade, and watch the daily Fish Market
  - Chase achievements as your collection grows

start, there are two optional purchases — the Starter Bundle (a pile of coins,
a solid rod and premium bait) and a Pocket of Coins top-up — but the whole
game can be completed without spending a thing.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-08-27

Two small additions this time:

- Pocket of Coins — an optional coin top-up in the Tackle Shop, for when you'd like a few more coins without the full Starter Bundle. The whole game is still free to finish without spending anything.
- More Apps — a new screen showing the other apps I've made.

Plus a handful of small visual fixes in the Tackle Shop.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-27

Bug fixes and balance tweaks:
  - Your coin total now updates instantly when you sell a catch.
  - Rods rebalanced — upgrades still feel great, but rare fish fight harder
  so the challenge sticks around.

### 1.0 — 2026-06-23

No release notes.
