But the dictionary has lots of spelling mistakes and sketchy words, making the game very frustrating. For example, REASEARCH and XXIII. I'm guessing the word list came from Wikipedia. I would scrap this in favor of the Enable word list, or the like. I would also take out proper nouns (like YMCA and KENNEDY). The game would be much tighter and stronger. ### 2/5 — What dictionary are you using?! *2015-07-16, version 2.0.6* I would love to give you five stars, but... So far I have only played against the computer and it has come up with proper names (Kyle, Lynn) and words not in Webster's dictionary, such as XXX and NNETHERMORE. Maybe I didn't read in the rules that anything other than plurals is fair game, but these examples are ridiculous! It's like playing against a cheater! ### 4/5 — Fun, but needs work *2015-04-27, version 2.0.6* Great game, but the app needs the ability to turn notifications off. It is also annoying how often I'm asked to upgrade. ### 3/5 — Needs improvement *2015-02-18, version 2.0.1* Yes, the dictionary is awful, but that's not the worst part. To minimize loss, you want to play one letter more than you take from your opponents word. (i.e. Use 3 letters, make a 4-letter word.) There are an incredible amount of 2-letter words in its dictionary. If you play with other people you could end up playing dozens of rounds of 2-letter words with no progress. Not fun at all, and no thinking is involved. ### 2/5 — Bad dictionary, bad dictionary!!! *2015-01-06, version 2.0.1* This is a great idea but the medium level is too easy and the hard level has an idiotic word generator. It won't take "colorectal" but it allows itself to use "lonicera" which is a proper noun for a shrub. I don't usually write reviews but this is an interesting game ruined by bad databases. ### 2/5 — Bad dictionary *2014-12-26, version 2.0.1* Fun idea, but the words the app plays are not real, at least not in English. Like RND, NNETHERMORE, GCOEN. Ruins the fun, because the app will just made up a word if you're ahead on difficult mode. Also there have been numerous real words it won't accept like dongle, and jiffy. Nobody likes playing against a cheating robot. Horribly designed system; people with a broad vocabulary will be frustrated in every single-player game. It just shows the loading sign forever until I force close the app. I even upgraded/paid for the app stupidly thinking it would solve the issue but nope. Awesome game and simple to play ### 1/5 — Decent app, terrible dictionary *2015-01-07, version 2.0.1* The dictionary is so bad it makes playing the game no fun and even frustrating. How are "TN", "NT", "TG", "GT", and "MPHPS" words?!?! Restrict words to a minimum of 3 characters and clean up that dictionary PLEASE. Who's worse: the player with no regard for others, or the writers of this app who allow this language to be used? The design is awe inspiring- clean lines, simple colours, and a quick, elegant interface. The game itself is one of the best I've ever played. On Classic mode it takes on the feel of a cross word puzzle- slow, calming, and thoughtful. The music only helps with this effect. It's definitely a different sort if game, and one that I've often found myself playing for hours. I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys games such as Scrabble, or that likes to test their personal vocabulary and wit. ### 5/5 — Catenary *2014-05-19, version 1.0.2* Beautiful app Fine design.
