No charge history or receipts found on my phone. Just emailed customer services about it and I hope, of all apps, that they will do the right thing in refunded me my money. Very disappointed, makes me not want to use this app anymore. I will try and update what happens. If you use it and cancel, monitor your bank statements, not sure who’s running and charging after canceling subscription. ### 2/5 — Bad pricing structure *2026-08-08* I appreciate the idea of this app but it has some huge flaws make it unusable unless you're really lucky or live in an enormous city. Two things it could do to fix this: 1. Lower the subscription price. $30 a month is absurd. People don't even pay that for their modern streaming services. Dating apps are economies of scale. They literally don't work if not enough people use them. More people would join and you would make way more money if you charged $10-$15 a month instead. And no, this doesn't include bundles. People don't know if these apps work so they are reluctant to spend an even bigger sum of money on multimonth subscription even if its cheaper month to month. 2. If you must charge such a high premium then it needs to be a premium experience. Remove the free account option. All that does bloat the list of available people with accounts that will never see your message/like. Seeing "unread" messages is extremely discouraging and will cause people not to resubscribe (myself included). ### 3/5 — a cheaper subscription *2026-08-07* the app is fine but you should offer a subscription proportional to eqch country. in Brazil, for example, it’s too expensive to subscribe in US dollar ### 2/5 — Police-like Control *2026-08-03* It feels like I’m being horribly controlled by all the stupid restrictions on CatholicMatch. For instance, now they tell you how long your first message has to be (quite long) when you can send another message to the same person, or how many images you can upload. I did nothing wrong. Unlimited messaging is a lie by the way. Subscription says it gives you unlimited messaging. I sent 5 messages and then the app told me I had to wait to send more. Didn’t even say how long I had to wait. Very unfortunate because I was really looking forward to this site. ### 1/5 — They have been making their app worse to make more people buy premium *2026-06-11, version 3.3.10* Its almost unusable now and feels more like a secular dating app than ever!! super likes?? you can no longer see who messaged you? new word limits? popups everywhere!! ### 1/5 — STAY CLEAR AND AVOID THIS APP! *2026-06-07* First, I’d like to state is that Catholic Match is NOT the problem with the modern faith-based dating. The source of modern dating predicament is our twisted backward culture, the toxic gaslighted attacks of traditional gender roles, the worship of false idols and the average self-centered person of social media. After being on Catholic Match on and off for about 7 years I have some light that I’d like to shed. Catholic Match, LLC. and its app are just a major money grab. Their app’s features do not allow for making a meaningful connection with a person. For example, you have no way of knowing if the person you messaged has a premium membership. Another instance is when your profile receives likes or likes other person’s. No response at all if it’s a message or like. This platform is nearly dead or full of bots that are on patrol. Also it is fair to mention that it does not matter if you filled out your profile completely or not. These features are NOT working anymore for this digital dating age. My recommendations would be to join a young adults’ group, take part in some of your parish’s ministries, attend other parishes in your Archdiocese, or become a member of the national Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) organization to meet potentially interesting / intriguing people. Additionally, I would suggest spending some time with God in prayer or adoration for meeting your person. All in all, get out of your comfort zone and talk with people. Save your money! The women users are so low in numbers you literally see the same women year after year. It's only gotten worse too and now you can't even message a woman again until she replies, which was the ONLY good competitive feature they had over every other apps. Occasionally it helps to send a friendly hello after a no reply, but no CM decided to make it even tougher. ### 2/5 — It’s all about the money *2026-05-24, version 3.3.6* If you don’t pay $30 a month you won’t even be able to send a message on this app. And, if someone sends you a message, you have to wait 10 days to say something back. It’s so greedy that it makes me surprised this app is Catholic. ### 2/5 — Not worth it *2026-05-23, version 3.3.6* You might find someone paying for the app, but unless you’re lucky enough to have someone close enough who is active and looking too, you’ll be paying a while. Without paying you get to like one profile a day. There’s a paywall in front of everything you want to do and you mostly only see people ~ 100 miles away or more when there are people closer view. I paid for one month—that was enough for me. At the end of the day, this a business. They’re here to make money. I’m not paying $30/mo. in hopes to stumble upon a date that could lead to something. On here, your odds are just as good being selective and not paying or just dating in the real world. ### 1/5 — dishonest 'bare minimum' preying off of church bulletins *2026-05-23, version 3.3.6* They've made the bare minimum functionality with an eye to maximize profit at user expense. For example, they give users the ability to prevent messages if the person is some age gap older but do NOT hide those prejudiced profiles from appearing in search results of the blocked person, thereby inflating the number of potential matches and doing a disservice to users who review the profile carefully only to have their careful message blocked as they try to send it. They also don't care about frequent crashes and notification failures on both iPhone and iPad. Many users have abandoned them leaving their profiles up further inflating number of apparent possibilities. Their primary business model, to profit despite these major design flaws, is to advertise in every Catholic church bulletin in the USA to prey on new users, with the church's senior citizens recommending it to young adults unaware. ### 3/5 — Still needs work *2026-05-20* I’ve been using CM off and on since 2019 and have a mixed experience with the app. I’v gotten 2 first dates in that time, which is great even though we determined our lives were going in different directions to follow where God is leading us. However, 90% of all users appear to be inactive. I’ve counted over 200 introduction messages I have sent in the last year. Of those I’ve had 1 actually respond back then ghost a week later. Of that 200, 30 actually saw the message i sent and chose not to respond which is fine, they want someone different and I can respect that. Of that 200, 50 deleted their profiles within a week of the message (all new members to the app) meaning the app wasn’t what they were looking for, also respect that, gotta test the waters to see if CM is for you and its perfectly fine if it’s not. But of that 200, 119 were inactive profiles still on the app making it seem like there’s a larger number of users on the app. That’s a failure on CM’s side. I have decided once this 1 year membership expires I will be pursuing a life of singleness as dating is not what it once was and frankly isn’t worth the waste of time it is. **Developer response:** Hi Sam, we do automatically hide fully inactive profiles. Some members in the past have had their read receipts turned off, however our new update as of last week means that from now on those will always be visible for Premium members. I do hear your frustration. When you finally take a subscription and message the other person you realise they don’t have an active subscription to reply as it’s too costly to maintaina monthly subscription. I don’t think many of the men on this app have ever spoken to a real life woman. ### 1/5 — Bad and glitchy *2026-07-18, version 3.3.14* There’s a bug where it shows random pictures from people’s photo library. On the home page if you scroll down there’s a section that shows pictures of everyone’s profile. I’m seeing screenshots, selfies of women, memes, etc. but when you click on their profile, it doesn’t show those pictures. At least I can avoid the men who have selfies of women lol . Definitely time to delete this app ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-07-16, version 3.3.14* So I understand that all dating apps make you pay to see who likes you. This app will tell you “$9.99 a month” but when you try to do it it wants full payment up front. No way to change it. I emailed them and they say “it’s a breakdown of the cost for the selected subscription term. The subscription is billed. As a single upfront. Payment at the start of the subscription period Rather than monthly installments. The monthly amount is provided for comparison purposes to show the equivalent cost per month over the full term.” This is ridiculous, I really tried to match with a catholic woman and I couldn’t do that because of this cost. Don’t waste your time unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars up front ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2026-07-16, version 3.3.14* I’ve easily messaged 50+ women, and have received less than half-a-dozen replies. Of the two that seemed like there was legitimate potential, one unmatched me with nary an explanation, and the other simply ghosted me (no wonder their 40-ish and single: they lack basic communication skills). Also, I am convinced that a sizable portion of the accounts are inactive, especially as I’ve seen this complaint elsewhere, across the interwebs. Also, this app is more expensive than pretty much all other dating apps that I’ve seen, and you can practically do nothing unless if you fork over a minimum of $29.99 for a one-month subscription (they regularly advertise discounts, specifically advertising something like “9.99 a month”, but it’s only available for either a 6-month or 12-month subscription, which makes it reek of false advertising🙄). Seriously, you can’t send a message unless if you pay for a premium subscription; and, if someone messages you, without a membership, you have to wait NINE DAYS to even SEE the message. Out of all the dating apps it’s the one that has the worst ROI. It’s very difficult to match unless you both pay for it. The app is made to make money more than making matches. The amount of people on it is very low and engagement is even lower. Bumble is dying but a better app. CatholicMatch denied my best photo, which is simply a side profile, for no apparent reason. This app is certainly the worst out of all of them, their aim is money not matches. Very disappointing considering the loneliness crisis the Catholic community is going through.
