## What is Catsette?

Catsette is a retro MP3 player for your own music files — fully offline, no account, no ads, no tracking.

Load your songs onto your iPhone and enjoy them in a lovingly crafted retro player. Two looks: the classic click wheel ("Spindle") or a full cassette chassis with spinning reels.

### 1.4 — 2026-09-09

Copy from Device, fixed: copying your library from another iPhone now shows the real song count, uses the fast Wi-Fi path first, recovers from stalls, and shows live progress on both devices.
• Old iPhone: Settings → Add Music → Catsette Web → On.
• New iPhone: Settings → Add Music → Copy from Device → pick the device, type the 4-digit code it shows. Keep both apps open.

Also:
• Settings, tidied: Playback, Add Music, Look, About – instead of one long list.
• Maps Ducking reacts to the system's own "another app is talking" signal, so the music dips on the first word.
• New installs start in the Cassette look.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-07

Copy from Device – move your library to a new iPhone or iPad in minutes:
• On the old device: Settings → Catsette Web → On.
• On the new one: Settings → Import → From another Catsette… → pick the device, type the 4-digit code it shows.
• Only songs you don't have yet are copied; favorites and playlists come along. Run it again any time to sync what's new.
• Works over Wi-Fi, Personal Hotspot, or simply side by side with no network at all.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-05

Catsette Web, now more helpful:
• Backup your whole library: download every song (plus playlists) as one ZIP from the Upload tab – handy when you switch phones.
• Download a selection of songs from the Songs tab.
• Works over Personal Hotspot when there's no Wi-Fi around – the app now tells you what to do if it can't be reached.
• Keeps running after you've been in Settings or another app.
• The On/Off row is fully visible again.
Also: playback fixes for the lock screen, and lists remember their scroll position.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-04

Now free for everyone.
- Fixed: the lock screen showed a track as playing while nothing played, and its controls did nothing.
- Fixed: Maps navigation (and other Live Activities) disappeared from the Dynamic Island while Catsette was open.
- Fixed: opening Catsette no longer interrupts whatever another app is playing.
- Now Playing keeps the cover in view; songs already played are folded away above Up Next.
- Lists remember where you were when you go back.
- Playlists can be hidden from shuffle: "Hide from Shuffle" keeps e.g. meditation tracks out of Shuffle All until you open that playlist.
- Evened out the spacing in menus. New: Settings › Diagnostics for bug reports.
