### 2/5 — Unclear-no search

*2026-02-03, version 10.0.2*

I want to search for specific causes I’m interested in yet there is no search feature.

### 4/5 — This is our voice

*2024-04-10, version 5.7*

I love this app but, We needs to push the developer to publish the ability to rotate to type. And we’ve got to have a option to make conversation with our followers or whatever. I miss the old version of the app

### 2/5 — Not Completely Unusable

*2023-08-07, version 5.7*

This app is going through what seems like multiple identity crises. Not only the name change, but the entire formatting and content of the app. Countable was hard to navigate but clearly made for mobile and at least somewhat intuitive. This new thing, Causes, is neat but I have no idea what is going on. Idk what content it's even trying to serve anymore, it does not seem like it cares about bills as much as whatever the latest political news is. The app is super hard to navigate and is very unintuitive in its design; nothing makes sense. It's formatted all weird like it's some mobile/desktop hybrid webpage and is janky. What on earth happened here? If this was the official Causes update it is half-baked and needed another year or two in development. Why bother sending out emails? I can't get anything done on the app so fix that before you tell me what new shenanigans and tomfoolery our politicians are up to again.

### 3/5 — Where is the Rep voting history?

*2022-08-09, version 5.7*

This looks like completely different app.

### 3/5 — Content is Great, App Itself Needs Work

*2022-08-06, version 5.7*

There is super good information on this app and it’s a great way to be informed and also participate and share your opinion in a meaningful way.

That said, the app itself is very clunky. Any time I try to back out of an article to the rest of the feed, it resets the page and I have to scroll all the way down again. Th software/programming needs to be improved

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2022-07-29, version 5.7*

Loved the app for years but the latest update doesn’t make sense anymore. Used to be able to see what bills were being pushed to the house and senate, what the impact could be of said bill was passed or not and you could then chime in on your opinion and read the opinions of others. You can’t really do any of that now and I don’t see the point in having this app anymore

### 1/5 — Once great now terrible

*2022-07-22, version 5.7*

The new update has made it harder to see how my representatives have voted and now is a website within an app instead of an app

### 1/5 — Countable was great; Causes is terrible

*2022-06-30, version 5.7*

As others have said, this new “Causes” app is just a slow web site wrapper that’s extremely difficult to navigate efficiently. It’s absolutely terrible and removes everything that made Countable great.

I’m done waiting for these people to wake up and put it all back the way it was. I’m deleting my account and this app. Hopefully a competitor who’s shrewd enough to mimic Countable will come along someday soon.

### 2/5 — Quality of this app has deteriorated in recent months.

*2022-06-14, version 5.7*

The previously native interface showing bills that were recently signed into law is now a mere browser wrapper that doesn’t even synchronize with the app and requires logging in a second time. This app used to perform better. Now I just hate opening it up, since I have to stop everything I’m doing to get the app to behave to my satisfaction.

### 1/5 — New version is terrible

*2022-06-09, version 5.7*

Navigation is horrific. I can’t find how my reps voted. That was the sole reason I was using the app.

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2022-06-01, version 5.7*

Where are my reps? I can’t find out how they voted on bills anymore?

Please revert back!!!!

### 4/5 — Informative but not nearly as useful as when it was countable

*2022-05-10, version 5.7*

Still a really good source of information and peoples takes, but idk why they changed it so drastically, used to be a much better ui and had a lot of features that actually helped you keep up with your own regional politicians, now it’s just national stories, again still a good app it just used to be a lot better

### 1/5 — They took away the ability to contact my congress people.

*2022-05-05, version 5.7*

The whole reason why I keep this app on my phone is because I can quickly and easily send my congress people a message. But now that ability is so buried, I can’t find it. I’m registered and logged in and can’t find it anymore. Now they force you to waste time reading their mediocre posts. Terrible!😖

### 1/5 — Not good

*2022-04-08, version 5.7*

This is a tool for America haters and traitors. If you type something they don’t like they block you. I’m not talking about profanity or vulgarity either. Just writing your opinion or asking a legitimate question gets you ghosted.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2021-12-01, version 5.6*

Site has an obvious bias in the way bills are described. Definitely way more liberals on this site than conservatives. Site often waits until day bills are being voted on to ask for opinions on the bills, so too late for email messages to representatives to actually matter. Search function is lousy, often doesn’t bring back info on current bills when searched by HR or SB number. Do like the ease of being able to email my reps through the “my reps” function.

### 1/5 — Opinions are skewed

*2021-11-15, version 5.6*

This app is EXTREMELY liberal. Be warned.

### 1/5 — Hyper-critical diatribe

*2021-10-28, version 5.6*

Leftist support group, shill factory, egoists, irrefutable lies, taradiddle, cloying sympathy, prevarication, Trump stuck, and more can all be found here. It may be your perfect fit.

Also this is not curated and only thumbs up are allowed in response to opinions. There is a hit-and-miss work around?

It does have a nice feature. With your opinion you can select to send it to your representatives. On the flip side of that your opinions may be sent to other reps not of your choosing. Other reps responded to me twice.

### 3/5 — Super easy to contact your reps and follow issues but…

*2021-10-26, version 5.6*

This only works for national politics. We all know that most politics is local. I’d love an update that included quick contacts for my state level legislators so I can contact them more easily about state level issues.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App doesn't work

*2025-11-18, version 10.0.2*

I have had this app for several years and originally linked it to my FB.

Now when I try to log on it just sends me into an endless loop.

I will be deleting it since I can't log on.

It's a shame cuz I loved the app.

### 1/5 — Not what it was initially intended for

*2025-07-23, version 10.0.2*

Originally this app was a great way to get an overview of current legislation, track how your representatives were voting on it, see what other people thought of the same legislation, and to contact your representatives with your opinions. It’s not just a rather mediocre news compiler, with none of the aforementioned functionality. Seems like they sold out to someone who gutted the concept.

### 1/5 — Good intentions

*2025-05-29, version 10.0.2*

This App has good intentions, but lately has been neglected, the information is outdated, and the app support is questionable! I had used the app in its previous release and it had one great feature, you could contact your US representative/ senator all in one action!
The new release would not let me reset my password and the tech support did not know how to do it manually! A great alternative to this sight is BlueSky!

### 1/5 — Stuck in the past

*2025-01-04, version 5.7*

Have not seen an update since before the election! Did the staff quit? Nothing current posted for months!

### 1/5 — Not great

*2024-11-01, version 5.7*

Countable used to be a good mobile designed app that worked in app. Now the app constantly redirects you to webpages and you’re having to log back in or things don’t even work. Frankly going back to the original setup would be better unless the team is working overtime to get the app in its current form working

### 1/5 — Can’t contact Reps

*2024-07-10, version 5.7*

Got an error saying my reps can’t be contacted because there not in my country!? Weird bug. Makes a key function useless for me.

### 1/5 — Just a truck driver

*2023-08-05, version 5.7*

This app goes to in depth from the get go although I appreciate the ability to understand the issues I would just like to be able to tell my representative on any given bill how I want them to vote and then I would like to know how they voted and how their constituents wanted them to vote keeping it simple for just us truck drivers

### 1/5 — Just a bunch of articles

*2023-05-27, version 5.7*

What happenes to the bills? I open the app and they thonk they’re cute making up quotes from the founders. All I see are news arricles? I giess it sold out to someone and they gutted it.

### 1/5 — Countable?

*2023-01-30, version 5.7*

Why doesn’t this app show the tally of those who agree or disagree with an issue?? It’s called countable but it doesn’t count. Truth is - a tally would show that most legislation that passes through the house & Senate is not widely supported by voters (as determined by countable). An earlier version of this app did provide the tally and it was removed!! Why?? Yet another inconvenient truth. DC does not represent the interests of constituents. Period.

I just rechecked the app and now it no longer lists the members of Congress and their contact information. Who is Washington decided to remove this feature. No the app is useless. Who are the developers & where is the accountability? Scam.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2022-08-08, version 5.7*

I liked when the app made it easy to see how every representative voted and the progress of different bills. But now it’s just a crappy website that does little more than just typing “news” into google

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exciting reboot at the right time!

*2025-05-09, version 10.0*

Our era of political and social turmoil seems to heighten the feeling of powerlessness and apathy. Causes is a welcome opportunity to get unstuck, learn about what is going on and how to help. Excited to see this community grow and its impact felt.

### 5/5 — 666

*2023-06-09, version 5.7*

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2021-02-13, version 5.5*

This app allows me to be informed and communicate with my legislators. It is just what the doctor ordered for the trying times in which we find ourselves.

### 5/5 — Great way to stay informed

*2020-05-29*

The Countable app is a great resource for learning and keeping up with what’s going on in the federal government. The app updates every time a bill originates, is voted on, or is amended. The purpose, the history, the progress and the arguments for and against each bill and each issue is explained fully, and in straightforward layman’s terms. Countable is possibly the best source of thorough, factual, unbiased information there is.
Users can vote to Agree or Disagree on each issue and comment. Each time you comment with your own opinion, you have the option to send your comment to your elected officials, and to spread your message by other means, such as posting it on social media sites.
I highly recommend this app for anyone interested in up-to-date, thorough information about what goes on in the federal government.

### 5/5 — Genius!!

*2019-12-04*

Great app that lets you comment on current ideas, voice your opinions to others AND your congressmen/women, AND follow/like others’ comments.

Cuts out so much of the hate and negativity that is evidenced in Twitter and etc when folks have the opportunity to respond to other people’s comments directly. Keeps comments focused on the issues, makes users read the details on the issues and others comments before commenting directly, educates the user.

I believe all voting Americans should be required to stay current through an educational/conversational app like this in order to qualify for voting privileges. We have become to crowded with people who are too stupid to even know what is good/right and what is bad/wrong for themselves. Get on this app, READ AND LEARN something, and then TALK TO YOUR CONGRESSMAN/CONGRESSWOMAN - make a difference!!!

Also - the people on this app are great and the address verification helps weed out non-US-users, but there are clearly some Russian trolls sowing disinformation campaigns like Sneaky Pete and others. Watch out for pro-communist propaganda disguised as republican talking points. Watch out for pro-communist propaganda disguised as democratic concession points.

### 5/5 — Countable is invaluable!

*2019-01-03*

If you want things to change and improve in this country, you have to know what is going on politically. This app really helps.

Countable provides a daily update on the issues coming up in the Congress and elsewhere in the government, put together by ab excellent team of people familiar with the legislative process. It summarizes often complicated legislation in clear, easily understandable terms, gives reasons for and against support that legislation, has a section that gives more details if one wants them, and a part that keeps you updated on the process. You can comment on it, snd your comment can be both posted to the discussion and sent to your Congressional Representatives and Senators (in a formal letter) if you select that. I use it daily, and have introduced many friends to it as well, who find it just as useful as I do.

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2018-11-13*

I just love this this app. I enjoy learning. I’m from N.Y. and grew up in the New York school systems out on Long Island. Being a Dysfunctional Dyslexic who not only fought my way so hard by perseverance and studding very hard. New York (school system) failed me not only as a person but as a 17 year old with a disability. I never got to graduate with my graduating class because of 1 point. My point is due to this app it makes me think more about what is going on in the world a lot more. If there’s something I don’t know I go to the wisest person I know. My father, believe it or not he has been very right about a lot of things and things, personally, that I didn’t realize he was right. If it’s a topic that I am not at all familiar with I will not answer due to the fact I may embarrass myself. Thank you very much for this awesome app.

### 5/5 — Easy and succinct

*2018-04-15*

BUG: currently doesn’t seem to let you sign in through Facebook account? Add google or something else to make it easier for people to sign up.

REVIEW: Simple interface that provides all the information you need to know about any upcoming legislation. The summaries and "why vote yes/no" section makes all the differences. I also love that you can vote along as well so that you can track if your rep and you are on the same page. Only thing I wish is that you can see how you vote and your rep vote along all issues one one page. Download the app and you'll find yourself more knowledgeable and involved in the political process.

### 5/5 — this is an app for adults

*2017-10-08*

The “news” feed on my iphone is continuously filled with click bait crap and irrelevant nonsense, and it didn’t matter how much I “customized” my feed. I like that so far everything on Countable seems to be straightforward, making it easy to see both sides of a bill or issue without conveying a particular bias.

MY FAVORITE THING SO FAR THO has to be the comments section. I’ve seen people express their different views in the comments and it just ends there. No name calling. Not a single racial/gender/sexuality slur in sight. It’s almost too good to be true. It’s as if adults were actually acting like adults. If there’s anyway we can keep this app this way I will be happy FOREVER.

### 5/5 — Like having a congressional staff in your pocket!

*2017-09-08*

Just a few years ago, you could get away with doing a little reading just before the election to prepare yourself to vote. If you did that, you were more informed and involved than probably 90% of voters.

With the 2016 election, that all changed: we need to stay connected to our elected representatives in Washington and locally more than ever before, or who knows what trouble they'll get us into!

Nothing I have ever found even comes close to Countable for keeping me appraised of the issues and votes of our time. It's like having your own congressional staff right in your pocket!
