There’s an ad pretty much every ten minutes which isn’t too bad because the app is free, but in the ad you have to watch 2 ads, then the next ad break it’s 3 ads, and then the last ad break is 5 ads bro. I am watching a 15 second ad 5 times. Does that make sense lol? The ads are so repetitive and also just annoying. If you are in the last 3 minutes, you end up having to watch multiple sets of ads you’ve already seen. Just nuts. Account creation asks for too many personal questions. Seems like CBC is taking its own census! Next cue the emails, which I never opted for in the first place… At least 5 per day! Unsubscribed 3 different times with each time experiencing a short while of silence followed by another round of bombardment. Even though I’ve deleted my account, I’m not confident CBC hasn’t retained it somewhere and will keep harassing me with emails! ### 1/5 — App *2026-07-07, version 11.51.0* All of a sudden I can’t get the gem app on my smart tv to work. Today I can no longer see CBC News network. Displays network error code 3302 which appears to be an authentication error. Restarting reinstalling no change.
