## What is CBP Global Encounters?

The CBP Global Encounters application is a restricted mobile tool developed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for use by authorized law enforcement partners. This app provides a secure and efficient platform for collecting and documenting biographic, biometric, and encounter information in the field.

IMPORTANT: This application is for official government use by authorized personnel only. Users must be credentialed and specifically authorized by CBP to access its features. This application is not intended for public use.

CBP Global Encounters empowers law enforcement partners to enhance border security operations by providing real-time capabilities directly on their mobile device.

  Key Features:

   * Secure Data Collection: Securely capture critical biographic and biometric data from encountered individuals in real-time.
   * Identity Verification: Instantly perform identity checks against authoritative Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP data sources to verify identity.
   * Photo & Biometric Capture: Use your device’s camera to capture high-quality facial photos. The app also supports contactless fingerprint capture technologies to collect biometrics where applicable.
   * Automated Geo-tagging: Automatically record the precise location of each encounter using GPS metadata for accurate administrative and legal record-keeping.
   * Encrypted Transmission: All data is encrypted both in-transit and at-rest, ensuring information is transmitted securely to CBP backend systems without being stored locally on the device.

CBP Global Encounters streamlines field data collection, enhances officer safety, and ensures data integrity for critical border security missions.
