This one is a real loser. Can’t even read any of the stories because the app shuts down after three seconds. I only get the headlines from the notifications. I’m so disappointed because this was the best local news app. For some stupid reason, they updated the app so that it’s only good for iPhone and not iPad. I’ve deleted it and I have to find a decent local news app👎👎👎 ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2020-07-04, version 1.0.16* Keeps freezing my IPhone because it keeps updating its ads or refreshing articles. “More news” button unresponsive as it updates sliding ads. Scrolling is fine as it already cached. Even after switching out, it prevented my iPhone to doing anything as it updated the ads in the background. Once I swiped it off, my iPhone got back to functioning property. I removed the app completely. ### 1/5 — Bs news bay area *2020-07-02, version 1.0.16* Old app was better. This doesn’t rotate for horizontal viewing. This one is made for phones and is unwatchable on iPad because it won’t rotate for landscape viewing. Just one more reason CBS is in free fall. Local and national news is so biased and opinionated it is becoming unwatchable. People are getting feed up with the stations agendas being rammed down their throat. They made me dump that version to this piece of crap that dumps every link into the station’s home page which rarely has the one it linked on the first 2 pages of results. If I wanted a tiny iPhone-sized screen, I’d run this app on my iPhone, not an iPad Pro. On Saturdays the news is limited and recycled Fridays articles. Sundays there no news until afternoons and that’s limited. ### 1/5 — Nothing in this app actually works *2023-05-30* At the title says, nothing in this app actually works.. You press play for a news clip, it doesn’t work. You press play on live local news.. it doesn’t work. Like literally, it won’t play. What’s the point of the app? Who is developing this app? Fire them. Only thing that works in google ads but then that’s not surprising. ### 1/5 — Not great *2023-03-11, version 1.6.0* I only downloaded this app because the CBS Bay Area Weather app is being discontinued/merged into the News app. I love the Weather app - all the info I want in an easy to use place, with unobtrusive ads. The News app doesn’t include as much weather detail AND the ads are much more intrusive. Please reconsider the decision to discontinue the CBS SF Weather app! ### 1/5 — Keep recycling old news *2022-10-31, version 1.5.0* Show the same old news over and over again. It was even hard to close the app as the entire phone slows dramatically. iPhone 8 on latest software. The latest update seems to have addressed the stability problems.
