Please try again. That app was working fine but now it’s impossible to get in and its been weeks now…now I got to pay for something that school gave me for free from the city make it make sense. ### 1/5 — Garbage. No connection to speak of. *2021-10-18, version 2.0.0* Can’t add money because of constant errors, clunky interface. no trip planning?? ### 1/5 — Slow and outdated *2021-10-11, version 2.0.0* This app takes at least 20-30 seconds to load and it’s a little glitchy. As for the actual service, COTA has never been on time. I would be utterly astonished if this bus ever arrived on time. Furthermore, the bus itself isn’t bad. They’re actually pretty clean, modern, and safe compared to the Metro in Los Angeles. ### 1/5 — Notaccessible to the blind and visually impaired *2020-06-18, version 2.0.0* There is a lot of blind and visually impaired customers that use cota. This app does not work well with voiceover on the iPhone. Please work on making this app accessible with voiceover. Finally figured out they have an app to pay. I had no idea how to pay before Why doesn’t the app let me use my location to figure out routes I can take? Why can’t I see where busses are? Lots of improvement needed if they wanted people like me to start riding the bus ### 1/5 — Terrible interface, leaves much to be desired. *2020-01-04, version 2.0.0* This is the least user friendly app of all the apps on my phone. What should be the most simple and quick transaction ever is turned into a dozen or so click process... considering you may be fumbling around on this app out in the cold/rain or on the bus holding up traffic, this is especially frustrating. I don’t see this app attracting too many new customers in its current state, which is sad for the future of public transportation. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2019-12-11, version 2.0.0* I tried to use the app today because I did not have cash on me. I downloaded, added money, and waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes for the #2 downtown. When I tried to scan the QR code, it would not read it. The bus driver scolded me that I should have read the instructions on how to use the app before I got on the bus. Bus 1023 driver 5973. I was made to feel like I was an idiot because the stupid code wouldn’t scan. Driver said I could ride but that I should “figure it out” because the next driver might make me get off. Seems to me I did figure it out: I paid $2.00 for a ride and it would be nice if the app worked right. ### 2/5 — App no longer works on iOS 13 *2019-10-21, version 2.0.0* The app worked fairly consistently until I updated to iOS 13. Now I can neither use my C-Pass nor purchase passes on the app. ### 1/5 — UPDATE IS BROKEN *2019-10-14, version 2.0.0* Pass is now either too big, or some other issue, but isn’t registering on the machines. Update makes CPass unuseable. Forced to update despite knowing it wouldn’t go well. Horrible app from a horrible bus service. Get your stuff together COTA. It seems to be C pass wallet missing in IPhone XR . ### 1/5 — virtually useless *2019-08-24, version 1.3* this app would be helpful if your pass didn’t expire after five mins. it would also help to be able to get a transfer pass since you’re spending the same amount. i thought it would be a good alternative to not carrying cash. very disappointed ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — What Happened???? *2025-04-16, version 2.9.32* I don’t know what they did to this app but I again tried to put money on here for my daughter to buy a ticket & yet again it took my money & I have no clue where the ticket went? It just keeps saying something about a wallet but I’m not using anything different than usual. I tried to get my money back last time & the lady pretty much said, “Sorry your up a creek bc we don’t refund anything under $5.” So now it’s $6 so they can give me my money back. You add up all the money that gets taken under $5 you get quite a bit of money. ### 1/5 — Logs out and removes pass access *2025-04-03, version 2.9.32* Logs out every two weeks and says my pass is used by another device. I gave up on the app and got a physical card ### 1/5 — Gone Downhill - Impossible to Add Funds Anymore *2023-10-20, version 2.0.0* I used to use this app regularly with no issues. Then, out of the blue, it stopped accepting the card I had on file to add funds. Regardless of which card I use (credit card, debit card, Visa or Mastercard), my attempt to add funds in unsuccessful and I receive an error message that the card I’m using is not valid/accepted (something along those lines). Again, even the card I used to add funds from the very beginning of me using the app is now no longer compatible with my COTA Connector app. As a result, I’ve switched to the Transit app completely, but I liked having both as an option like I did in the past. It came in very handy when my fiancé’s phone died and I was able to pay my bus fare with the Transit app and his bus fare with the COTA Connector App. Wouldn’t be able to do that anymore… ### 1/5 — Not easy to use at all *2023-10-11, version 2.0.0* This app shows close to nothing, hard to understand. I added money to my account and am still struggling to get my funds back. The app does not show ride times or bus trips at all. ### 1/5 — Stole from me *2023-03-31, version 2.0.0* Went to get on the bus and it logged me out. Will not allow me to reset password almost as if I never had a account. Avoid at all cost!!! ### 1/5 — Only works half the time *2022-09-06, version 2.0.0* The QR code has a very low rate of actually working. The scanners pick it up a little less than half the time. Can't log in, can't see account balance, can't add connector card. I’m so confused by this app. I tried to use it once and it said insufficient funds. I thought this app gave free bus rides for downtown workers? So why would I need to add funds? Please switch to dark colors and save the light background for the pass screen. Give your users better battery life and less eye pain when the app is opened early mornings. ### 3/5 — It’s ok *2019-02-27, version 1.3* Using the app to scan onto the bus is a hassle, and time consuming. The app should set the background brightness to 100% so the code can be scanned on the first try. Also the timer that limits how long the code is valid makes getting ready to board the bus complicated because you need to wait for the bus to be there or else the timer might run out. ### 2/5 — Vanishing C-Pass Wallet *2020-01-14, version 2.0.0* Overall, the app works fine...except for the once every couple of months when my C-Pass wallet just disappears. At random intervals I have to re-login and then it comes to a page to retrieve my wallet or create a new one. Unfortunately, there is no wallet to retrieve. I have to call the help desk and have them manually enter it back in.
