You open the app and try to search or select a state and it does nothing. What a pathetic app to not have the main feature even function. Moving on to a better app.

The app doesn’t state if a state allows the carry of firearms open or concealed by an nonresident of that state without a CCL. If the state is a permitless carry state does that apply to nonresidents also?

**Developer response:** Since North Dakota updated their law in August 2023, all permitless carry states treat residents and non-residents equally. The app's text now makes that clearer.

### 1.4.2 — 2026-08-24

• You can now search the California no-carry map by name. Type a park, a school, or a city and the map flies straight there, framed so you can see the whole area rather than one corner of it.
• Searching a city name finds everything mapped in that city, which is the fastest way to check somewhere before you drive to it.
• Both the California and Texas maps have a locate-me button, and the California map now opens where you are instead of always starting in Sacramento.
• Fixed section headings in the law notes that were showing raw link text instead of the link.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-08-19

• New for California: a map of where you can't carry. Parks come from the state's own protected-areas database and schools from the school-campus database, so the boundaries are the real ones. Every area cites the statute behind it, and tapping the citation opens the law.
• Only categories a court currently allows to be enforced are drawn, and the map says plainly which places aren't mapped yet. An unshaded street is not a green light.
• Federal 1,000-foot school zones are available as a separate layer, switched off by default, because a California license exempts you from them.

• New free plan: pick the state you carry in and keep full access to it, permanently. If you're already on the free daily state rotation, nothing changes for you.
• VoiceOver now reads the subscription banner's actual text instead of a generic label.
