## What is CCWize?

CCWize is a community-powered awareness app designed to help responsible firearm owners understand posted firearm signage at real-world locations. By combining user-submitted reports, photos, and location data, CCWize provides visibility into whether a business or venue is posted as allowing or prohibiting firearms.

CCWize is commonly used to plan ahead and navigate unfamiliar places—such as when traveling, visiting new areas, or preparing for upcoming trips—by viewing community-reported signage before arriving at a location.

CCWize does not provide legal advice, interpret laws, or offer enforcement guidance. Instead, it gives users access to crowd-sourced informational reports so they can make informed personal decisions before entering a location.

Key features include:
• Community-submitted reports of posted firearm signage
• Location-based map view for nearby awareness
• Photo uploads to support and update reports
• Clear status labels (Allowed, Prohibited, or Unknown)
• Community feedback to improve accuracy over time

Firearm laws and signage requirements vary by jurisdiction and may change at any time. Users are responsible for verifying posted signage and local regulations. CCWize exists to increase awareness—not to provide legal guidance or guarantees.

### 5/5 — Amazing App | Highly Recommend

*2026-03-19*

CCWize is an excellent app for anyone who carries. It’s intuitive, useful, and clearly built with the needs of responsible carriers in mind.

You can tell real thought went into making it practical for everyday use. I’d absolutely encourage others to install and try it out. It has saved me money and hassle due to the prox alert feature alone.

If I could give 10 stars I would!

### 5/5 — Amazing app. Should have had this years ago.

*2026-03-09*

This is like the Yelp for CCW holders. Know where you can and can’t go. Know if you are gonna get scanned or if you need to take your own car.

### 5/5 — Helped me plan my trip to museum in SF

*2026-03-09*

Went to a museum in San Francisco. Turns out, they have metal detectors and security guards with wands. Used this app to plan that trip; I left my firearm at home rather than being turned away while my friends went in. I’m going to use this app all the freaking time.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.2.2 — 2026-03-22

Version 1.2.2 Bug Fixes:
- Smart Search now returns relevant results. Searches like "prohibited locations near me" previously came back empty — they now correctly surface locations flagged as prohibited in the database.
- Smart Search no longer shows opposite-intent results. Queries asking for restricted locations were sometimes returning businesses labelled "Likely Allowed." That mismatch is resolved.
- Smart Search falls back gracefully. If the AI-powered search can't find a match, it now falls back to the same results Basic Search would return, so you're never left with an empty screen.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-03-18

Bug Fixes & Improvements

- Fixed Proximity Alerts for subscribers — Alerts now activate reliably and notify you when approaching locations with posted or prohibited firearm signage. Customize alert mode and radius in the Alerts tab.

- Fixed access to Quiet Zones — Quiet Zones can now be accessed from the Alerts tab, allowing you to add or remove suppression zones by GPS or address.

- Fixed incorrect paywall display — Resolved an issue where active subscribers saw the paywall after reinstalling or signing in on a new device. Subscription status now restores automatically without requiring “Restore Purchases.”

### 1.2.0 — 2026-03-16

Bug Fixes & Improvements

• Fixed an issue where premium subscriptions were not unlocking after purchase
• Improved subscription sync reliability with our servers
• General performance improvements and bug fixes

### 1.15 — 2026-03-09
