### 1/5 — App stopped working

*2025-03-20, version 1.0*

App no longer showed nearby chargers. Reinstalled the app and now not a single charger is in the list

### 1/5 — New App requires re-download and all new registration!!

*2025-03-19, version 1.0*

Apart from being able to do as-is upgrade into a new app with new interface(actually not new interface, it is a ChargeEV platform used in Malaysia and now it is CDGENGIE also), we have to download a new app.

Service desk claim, an email was sent to inform about this initiative(rather than previous app announcement).

After download, CDGENGIE did not port necessary details over. They could have port over all details except for banking authentication which they did not! We have to re-input the payment card details.

It is as good as treating me as a new customer requesting day 1 data and no
Loyalty program as usual which i dun think they even treated me as a 2yrs+ regular customer.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work.

*2025-01-15, version 1.0*

Doesn’t work. Tried in the rain for 10 mins. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Pointless new app

*2025-01-08, version 1.0*

What is the point of the new app? It is laggier and has new features that I would NEVER use. Such as trip planning?! The best experience you can ever build is design it such that the user can spend the least amount of time using the app each time they need to charge. AKA optimise the charging experience and not build a bunch of pointless stuff AND make it laggier AND make the user create a new account for zero gain

### 1/5 — Unusable app

*2025-01-06, version 1.0*

Am on the old app CDG ENGINE EV CHARGING when an email came in stating to use the new app, which coincidentally has the exact same name except for EV CHARGING 😴

Entered password but system says wrong password. Tried to reset password but system says no such user. Had to re-register. After entering all info and at page 4/4, system prompted “Unable to send OTP.”👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great work building an unusable app.

### 1/5 — Don't fix what's not broken

*2025-01-06, version 1.0*

1.	No monthly summary for costs, only for kWh usage. Additionally, no monthly invoice is provided (e.g., the invoice for December 2024 was not received in the new app).
	2.	A $40 hold is placed every time charging starts, instead of billing monthly.
	3.	The user interface is less friendly, now requiring three steps to start charging compared to just two steps in the old app.
	4.	Unnecessary features, such as the trip planner, could be reconsidered. Please monitor its usage rate and evaluate whether it should be removed.

Overall, the new app is less user-friendly compared to the old one. It is laggier, less intuitive, and lacks comprehensive monthly summaries.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor quality App

*2025-09-25, version 2.0.3*

The app developer is hopeless, it does not have a QR code scan button so you have to manually search for the location. Basic thing.

### 1/5 — Worst charging app- doesn’t work

*2025-09-14, version 2.0.3*

Don’t download

### 1/5 — does not load/laggy

*2025-09-11, version 2.0.3*

you would think that with the amount of comments about being unable to load/lag something would be done but no.

### 1/5 — Hide n Seek Charger Connector Label

*2025-09-03, version 2.0.3*

When i'm at an unfamiliar location and already plugged in to a CDG charger, i want to quickly start charging but i need to find the Connector Label eg 23456 in the app. Search Nearby doesn't work in basement carparks. I had to open map, zoom into area, look at different chargers and hey finally scroll to 23456 to activate!

### 1/5 — They’re Ripping People off

*2025-08-25, version 2.0.1*

I’m getting constantly overcharged for my car charging. I got charged for 72kwh of energy, while my car battery is only a 42kwh capacity. This has happened 3x already, absolute ripoff.

### 1/5 — This App doesn’t work properly

*2025-05-16, version 2.0.1*

Beware users of previous app. Your account maybe locked & Support is poor unable to do rectification/reset.

### 1/5 — Buggy

*2025-05-08, version 2.0.1*

Error time out all the time. Totally unusable

### 1/5 — Worst e-charging platform

*2025-05-02, version 2.0.1*

With so many charger of this brand around, I must say this is the lousiest brand among all.

1.Laggy through the use of the app.
2. Unable to end charge unlimited amount of time, required to call customer service to get it resolved, but got to be on call for at least 5 mins before things get resolved.

### 1/5 — Cannot start charge?

*2025-04-18, version 1.0*

The previous app was fine, for some reason charging is always suspenddd now?

### 1/5 — Very laggy

*2025-04-12, version 1.0*

This version is so much laggier than the older one. Takes very long to initiate charge and often shows up as $0 charge but ends up re-billing to my email. Please do something about it.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A lot of Chargers especially fast charging

*2025-10-24, version 2.0.4*

Very easy to use!

### 5/5 — Good so far.

*2024-11-20, version 1.0*

Map navigation is good. so far easy to use.

### 4/5 — Terrible

*2025-01-10, version 1.0*

I enjoyed the older app. First there is an pre charge of $40 which would be helpful to highlights before submit. Charging station ID should have bigger font.

### 3/5 — User experience

*2025-05-05, version 2.0.1*

The user experience of this app could be significantly improved. Its most important function — starting and stopping charging — is not as intuitive as it should be, especially when compared to other EV charging apps. Adding a simple QR code scan option directly on the home tab would greatly simplify the process and make starting a charging session much easier.

### 3/5 — Laggy app interface

*2025-02-10, version 1.0*

I know the app is on an early phase of development but the older one was smoother and just easier to use.

The addition of trip planner, traffic situation is a nice addition but in all honesty, we use Google maps or waze for such needs.
I think as EV drivers, our main purpose of app usage is just to make the payment/ availability of chargers.
Recently, Google maps started showing EV chargers and availability on the maps so companies should head towards integration instead of developing more tedious apps.

I much rather prefer the older interface too, and I hope they fix the laggy feel of the app.

I hope my criticism is constructive.

### 2/5 — Review

*2025-08-30, version 2.0.1*

App is functional but if you charge for certain hours (I think beyond 24hour ) the session dies on your app, which you need to force Called support few times to feedback but no update

### 2/5 — A nightmare

*2025-07-28, version 2.0.1*

It’s always a toss-up as to whether I can get this app to work. I’ve needed to delete it and re-download and re-login. Who needs this kind of hassle?
