And 1 star is 1 too many! *2024-10-05, version 1.4.1* The app doesn’t work and the help desk bot keeps repeating the same message! ### 1/5 — Worked once. *2024-08-18, version 1.4.1* Worked OK the first time. Saved up a load of recycling the second time only to discover the machine wouldn’t work. Waited a couple of days and tried again. Put the recycling through and stupidly misplaced the receipt. The second recycling effort didn’t show up on my account. Wasted effort, won’t bother again. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2024-07-21, version 1.4.1* This app is horrible. Shows locations of areas to deposit your cans that don’t even exist. Plus doesn’t even show when the machine itself is faulty and the directions to the machines aren’t even where the machines are so you didn’t have to go searching for the machine. Very annoyed! ### 2/5 — CSV download *2024-02-23, version 1.3.1* When saving the download for some reason it saves the 10 most recent deposits rather than all deposits made within a lifetime or select period. It should save and export all deposits made within the selected dates not the top 10. ### 2/5 — Pointless. *2024-02-17, version 1.3.0* Driving around endlessly only to find that all the RVM are full, need an update system to tell if drop off points are full or not. ### 2/5 — Just not good enough *2024-02-12, version 1.3.0* Quite frankly the whole recycling idea is overdue, and Victorians have been waiting for this forever. And at last it’s here, and the app is nothing but dissatisfying not only doesn’t it provide directions to your nearest recycling centre but also fails to tell you open hours for the stores and which store recycle what. In saying this, both sign-up and logging in were super easy and simplistic. Signs of potential but as it stand this app isn’t good enough for Victorians. ### 1/5 — Can’t sign up *2024-01-07, version 1.2.0* Can’t sign up ### 1/5 — Refund scan never works *2024-01-05, version 1.2.0* Do everything it says and the barcode to scan payment to your account is never accepted. Have to print a receipt and go to Coles to claim which is 40km away. ### 1/5 — App bad *2023-12-16, version 1.2.0* People REALLY need to know that their accounts won’t work immediately. For a person having to show up to an RVM with tons of bags only to be told ‘invalid customer ID’ time and time again (and the number typed into the machine was IDENTICAL to the one given by the app), this app is a nightmare. MAKE YOUR ACCOUNT SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE YOU GO TO THE MACHINE!!! I cannot stress this enough. I mean, it’s good for the environment, but this CDS has raised my blood pressure about 10 points. Geez ### 1/5 — Another pathetic idea by the State of Victoria *2023-11-25, version 1.1.0* Who honestly vets these companies. Most of the over the counter return places woefully under prepared and certainly not prepared for large volumes. Done on the cheap. Half a-sd and executed idea by Labor yet again. They are incompetent. So hard to use and crush after I submitted all my bottles. ### 1/5 — It don’t work *2025-09-20, version 1.5.0* When i signed up my account it just said Error, failed to get user. Therefore no barcode to scan. Looked it up and there was no solution. I’ll be littering from now on ### 1/5 — Took my money *2025-07-13, version 1.5.0* Did the can collection for the first time the other day, saved up all my cans for months then went to return them and downloaded the app, followed the prompts etc then just met with ‘user error’ the only option was to donate the money ### 1/5 — Typical Victorian Government Botch *2025-01-25, version 1.4.1* Went to recycle half a dozen Red Bull cans and they were all rejected- apparently they don’t qualify even though they are drinking cans. Really don’t bother! ### 1/5 — Constant errors, cannot even find my location *2025-01-16, version 1.4.1* This is a fairly poor effort. Type in your postcode and it doesn’t direct to anywhere local. Then signup took ages because it’s too difficult. Then it failed to log in after I’d signed up. So 1/2 an hour wasted feeding in cans and signing up only have to walk away with no refund! ### 1/5 — App won’t validate phone number *2024-12-28, version 1.4.1* I drove to the recycling depot with a car full of cans expecting to just deposit them and get cash. Had to download this app that would y verify my phone number. Then it locked me out for an hour. Had to pack all my cans back up. Absolutely shocking experience and completely useless. App may won’t work first time you show up so make sure to set up ahead of time. ### 1/5 — Verification doesn’t send *2024-11-09, version 1.4.1* For months now the app is telling me I need to verify my phone number so when I follow the prompts to get the code texted to my phone, no text message is ever sent/received!! Therefore I cannot use ANYTHING in this app anymore because I can’t get past the verification stage, even though I’ve had it for ages and have received refunds for my recycling. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-10-09, version 1.4.1* Downloaded app, open and create account, receive confirmation email which confirm, app just shows “failed to get user”. Log out back in same thing. What a joke. Government ineptitude exemplified. Search is completely useless worse than 20 year old Windows XP search. Embarrassing someone would make this so bad. App doesn’t work without Safari installed. So if your work uses Edge due to security policy recommendations from the Australian and VIC government, this vic government app won’t work. I was happy to scan my Guinness cans and the find a location to deposit then near me. I liked the map and the the barcode scanner. They worked well and where intuitive to use. I’m off now this morning to deposit my cans. Would be really helpful if the app told you if the RVM (reverse vending machine) was full so we don’t make a trip somewhere to only find out we can’t use it. Thanks!! ### 3/5 — Buggy *2024-12-24, version 1.4.1* I haven't come across issues with getting paid through the app, but all of my refunds disappeared at one point, didn't get the money for a week, and now I'm missing a huge chunk of what I had recycled and no refunds showing. Not the end of the world but it was nice to see how many I'd recycled since it started.
