It does not record maximum strength correctly, and will often fail to record my sessions at all. If I start recording a migraine episode it records the start date in the 1960s and will not let me edit. I took screenshots of these issues to send to support and they suggested I go to coaching. The coach did not call me back. I started the heal your headache 123 program at the same time as this device, so I’m not sure it’s even doing anything. The app is HORRIBLE. I’ve contacted them and get the same response as others before me, an offer to watch coaching. That won’t help the faulty data and inaccurate results it records. Once the phone goes to sleep or the screen isn’t being touched, the strength of treatment is still there on a graph, the time often freezes and is inaccurate, and when you log your data and use the multitude of graphs and tables they provide, they are wrong. It’s useless. I chose this model for the reliable data to provide to my doctor. This makes it useless and detrimental. There is also no option to delete an accidental data point - say you started but it immediately needed to stop because you needed to enter the pin, again, that data point can’t be deleted. Don’t looks like I had a migraine for 30 seconds and that’s all the treatment I needed. Followed by a full session. PLEASE FIX THIS APP TO MAKE IT WHAT YOU ADVERTISE IT TO BE. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your review. To get the device and app to connect with each other, you’ve gotta put in a PIN, which is one of the two numbers on the back of the device, but the back of the device will already be attached to your head. If you memorize the PIN like I did, it will often still not stay connected. The app will often stop logging a migraine that I have recorded, and then it will randomly start recording a migraine that I’m not having! I thought this could be really nice to have all migraine info in one place, but this app just does not work. The customer service person who responded to me assured me that the app would save my login info. Alas. ### 1/5 — Terrible app, shouldn’t charge more for Bluetooth devices *2024-02-16* I have the same comments as everyone else. The app doesn’t work. The only thing it can do is se what level of pulses I’m getting during the treatment. It doesn’t log to compare. Charging people more for the Bluetooth enabled cefaly define to use with this app is a complete scam. The price between Bluetooth and no Bluetooth should be the same until the app can get figured out. Nothing works. Like nothing. If I could give this app zero stars I would. The Bluetooth functionality is non existent. The app is completely unresponsive. It won’t let you track a migraine. It doesn’t allow you to manually log a migraine and even when it looks like it’s actually logging your migraine, the log somehow disappears. I could go on and on about how horrible this app is, but I honestly just don’t wanna waste any more time with it. It literally has given me a migraine. I don’t even really know why there’s an app if it works this poorly. A shame! ### 1/5 — They call it ‘chat’… *2023-12-12* The ‘chat’ is not a chat. It’s a survey. It doesn’t matter really, because of going through the survey I’m forced to create a login, which doesn’t work. I just receive an error every time. "It was not possible to create the request to verify the email." There’s no option for help, just chat, which only leaves the option of creating a login. Annoying. The website has annoying advertisements like a free game app or a recipe blog and doesn’t appear to offer any advice or support for the app. It does have an email of which I can send questions. I tried it on my iPhone with iOS 17.1.2 and even my iPadOS 16.7.2. I tried multiple email accounts and I repeatedly get a msg stating “It was not possible to create the request to verify the email.” Clearly this app is not a priority for Cefaly for they appear to have not assigned sufficient resources to produce and maintain what should be a simple app—simple is my guess anyway, because I haven’t actually seen it. The app reviews demonstrate a solid history of bugs and scheduling a coach meeting like it’s MY inability is frustrating and should not be necessary. It’s also not great practice to ask customers to pay more money for a non-functioning “feature”. The logging doesn’t record, even when I saved my migraine information and it confirms I logged everything I go to check the log and nothing appears. The app also randomly records “migraines” on its own at random. To be clear - I never started these. I turn on the app and it says I’ve been recording a migraine for two hours when I haven’t touched the app or device for 24 hours. The device has to have a pin to log in for every single use. Any and all other Bluetooth devices I’ve used are saved in my phone memory and will automatically connect - somehow this device doesn’t. The device also needs to be connected to my forehead and turned on to connect it - but the pin is located on the back of the back of the device? So I have to disconnect it - write down the pin and then reconnect it to start using it. The only consistent thing the app does well is track the strength and length of time I use it for. The device itself does work and I will continue using it. It’s constantly disconnecting and very in reliable for adding sessions. Please fix 🙏 ### 1/5 — App isn’t worth it *2023-12-02* This app is really bad. Every time I start the device I have to put in the PIN number which inexplicably is only on the back of the device which is usually already on my forehead. If the app freezes during treatment it loses connection to the device you have to put in the pin but it’s running mid treatment on your forehead. Too bad. Is the treatment almost done? Is it stuck and going to run way too long? Who knows! Good luck! Migraine logging feature is super buggy. It forces you to log all kinds of criteria like medication taken but if I didn’t take medication that’s not a choice. I have to log oral medication. Weeks will go by and it will show a 22 hour migraine from who knows when and I have to log medication and symptoms to move forward and use the app. Get the plain non-BT Cefaly device, I thought the intensity chart would be helpful so I could understand what percentage I had worked up to, but for how clunky and unreliable this app is, it wasn’t worth the upgrade to the BT device even trading my old one. You guys really laid an egg on this one, which is not really acceptable in my opinion given the price tag and the fact that you sold it mostly on the Bluetooth feature. Without that , it is basically the same as the last model. So I don't understand how you could screw this up so badly. Please fix your app soon. Otherwise I am plsnning on returning this thing for a refund. I rooting for you guys, but it's not looking good. At a bare minimum, you need to get a good QA person. I would also suggest to stop asking people to get on the phone with customer support to learn the features. It is veru annoying. I had to replace my old model and sprung for the connected but apparently that was a waste of money because I had to close and reopen the app so many times even just to set up a login. Now using the device with it for the first time and the app stopped working literally 24 seconds into the hour treatment. I hope updates are coming to make this usable. ### 1/5 — Awful App *2023-09-25* Cefaly itself has been helpful. However, I wish I hadn’t bought the connected because this app is awful. It disconnects repeatedly (even during sessions) requiring you enter the pin every time, it freezes, it crashes, and does not track all sessions. The entire point was to be able to have a log and with easy use to track and understand the devices impact. I’ve noticed more days than not when doing a treatment, I get what I’ve now named, the blue screen of death. This is the blue screen with the white thinking circle. I have scheduled with a coach so please don’t tell me to do that! (I notice that is always the response from developers and using the app isn’t the problem, it’s the app itself!)I love the app when it works for tracking without me having to manually enter my tx. Unfortunately this app doesn’t even work. From the looks of other reviews nobody can get it to work. It won’t even let me complete the account set up. Will probably just send it back and bet out the shipping. Not impressed! ### 1/5 — Can’t create account - no support available *2025-01-06* I can’t create an account in the app. Don’t see anywhere to report an issue or provide feedback, other than write a review. ### 1/5 — Can’t even log in *2025-01-04* I got the more expensive Cefaly Connected device because of the app’s capabilities and haven’t even been able to log in because every time I try to create an account, I get this message: “It was not possible to create the request to verify the email.” The fact that there are such obvious bugs with the app makes me nervous about using the device. ### 1/5 — App issues *2025-01-02* I received the Cefaly for Xmas, unfortunately after several attempts, the app still will not allow me to register. I keep having to go through all the questions and then it says can not verify my email. Which makes no sense. I’m stuck on a question now and it won’t let me move forward. It also won’t let me register my email, have tried multiple times??!! ### 1/5 — App needs work *2024-11-05* The app often loses connection with the device, which results in not capturing the data. Then you have to go in and enter in manually. ### 1/5 — Huge Disappointment *2024-08-08* I rarely write app reviews but this is bad enough that it needs to be said. I’ve been using the CEFALY device for years. The device itself is amazing and does a great job on bringing my constant migraine down to bearable levels. This app is frustrating and - in my opinion - worthless. For starters - why do I have to input the PIN to pair my device EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE IT? You should only need to pair the first time and then it should retain the information for subsequent sessions. Almost every other Bluetooth device I’ve used does this. Why not this one? Especially since when I’m using the device, I’m in pain and having trouble seeing clearly. A huge miss on the part of the developers. I wanted to like this app. There are some nice things in the intensity tracking and charting that I’d really find useful - I think - if I could use them. As it is, I will continue to use the CEFALY Connected, but this app is going in the bin until and unless it gets a lot of improvement. Incredibly disappointed that the app not only doesn’t help, it actually makes my migraine worse while trying to navigate this hideous app ### 1/5 — Underwhelming *2024-07-31* Have been using the app as a headache diary because it came with the 400$ device I bought. That’s a whole other review. But today, all my logs are gone, and the app appears to hang (cannot access settings or “back”) until being restarted. Also, the “export” feature does not export the logs themselves (and even the ones it does are not complete) so it is worthless as a headache diary unless you are willing to look at each individual day (which I was since I had two weeks logged already) but now they are gone. Find a different app to log your headaches. One that is reliable. ### 1/5 — Buggy have to sync every time *2024-05-19* You have to sync every time you use your cefaly and it had no memory of the previous pairing. Logging migraine requires going through all questions and cannot skip any answers. There are no options to just log a migraine episode. It would be great to be able to use the cefaly and sync the device without having to pull it off to look at the pairing number to enter. I’ve memorized it by now so it’s a mute point but it is inconvenient. The cefaly dual work just as well and you don’t have to worry about the tech glitches. And no need to try to track anything and become frustrated with the app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Cannot create an account *2023-05-17* I don't even know how to rate an app that won't allow you to make an account, and doesn't have app support. It just leads back to the cefaly app page... Has the app just been down?? I've deleted and re-downloaded the app to no avail, when I press to create the account after typing in all my information, it just sits there. Nothing happens. Extremely frustrating. Why not just allow people to create account on the web to avoid this problem, or at least provide it as an alternative solution if the app has a bug with the create an account function. *update* App was fixed! Keeps it all in one place on my phone when I need to share with my doctor. Pretty easy to use but I need to be more consistent with it. ### 3/5 — Potential for greatness is there *2025-02-07* I am very grateful for the Cefaly device as it is helping and so I am sticking with it . However, the application needs a fair amount of work and so lowering expectations is important or you will be quite disappointed. The biggest problem is the Bluetooth connection management. Establishing a connection should be a one time thing and yet it is required every time. Sadly, if you lose connection it crashes and you need to restart and reconnect. Once the Bluetooth problems are fixed, the next issue is to simplify the user experience. There is a fluffiness to it that is not intuitive. The focus needs to be on the Cefaly device session management itself. I think there’s great potential here and so I am hoping the next version will come out soon and start chipping away at these issues. If you are looking for a perfect solution, just wait as you see by the current reviews that the app is not ready for prime time just yet. ### 3/5 — The latest rev works better *2022-01-24* Since the .18 revision, the app now works better, with the leftover problem in the birthday field on the profile screen. It’s very difficult to get the app to allow you to make an entry in the birthday field, and you can’t save any profile edits without completing all g TV be fields at least once. The logging feature seems to work now too, but I’ve only recorded one headache so far. We’ll see if the positive trend continues. ### 2/5 — Logging is difficult and annoying *2024-11-22* I love my CEFALY, it has helped so much, but the app is really not great. It stays connected most of the time but it almost never actually records sessions. Even when you do it manually, it often doesn’t add the manual entry to the logs. Desperately needs an upgrade ### 2/5 — Please test your user experience *2023-06-17* Come on! The pin is located behind the device. Every time you are out of Bluetooth range you’ll need to remove the device to re-enter the pin and reconnect the device, which forces you to interrupt treatment. Lousy app. *2023-02-23, version 3.0* I thought the app would be a dynamic piece of software that allows you to EASILY collect data about one’s migraines. Not so. The app is confusing and temperamental. Control over the device is limited to seeing the intensity setting, which is nice but there could be so much more. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Needs Improvement *2023-01-22, version 3.0* Have to sync the device every single time you want to use it with the app. If you start a session you have to pretty much stay on this app. Because if you go to another app, even without closing the Cece app, the Cece app will get stuck in a load screen so you have to force close and reopen, losing the connection and the auto tracking capability of whatever session you were in the middle of. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Hard to use *2022-09-21, version 1.0.18* App could be great but it’s really hard to use. Purpose is to track migraine attacks but it makes entering an attack almost impossible. Interface is confusing and you end up either deleting data you’ve spent a long time entering or putting it in at the wrong time. Navigating an overly complex app is the last thing you feel like when you are in an attack, but this is also brought to you by the folks that added a steady blinking light shining in the eyes for their migraine device, so I guess it’s not unexpected that they’d do something contrary to sense. Will keep struggling through for a few more weeks then delete.
