### 3/5 — Necessary for Cefaly - only reason for 3 stars.

*2026-05-06, version 4.4.4*

This app by itself merits a 1-star review - it’s terrible. It allows very basic control of the Cefaly device but crashes, has an awful UI, and is generally a pain to use. Basic functionality (like ramping down intensity if you let it get too high) is missing.

That said, if you use a Cefaly, this app is helpful despite its many flaws. I find the Cefaly itself very helpful for migraines, so I’m stuck with the app.

### 2/5 — Device Can’t Connect

*2026-04-03, version 4.4.4*

The app functionality is again impeding my use of the device. The app cannot find the device, despite restarting the app many times and charging the device to ensure battery isn’t the issue (it was last at 70% so it shouldn’t be). Very frustrating! Second time the app has broken in my 2-3 months of use.

### 1/5 — Cece App pairing

*2026-03-15, version 4.4.4*

I spent over 30 minutes trying to pair the device to the app to the point that the app stop discovering the device completely. The upside is I didn’t pay for it but doesn’t fix the fact that the app isn’t great. 🫡

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2026-03-15, version 4.4.4*

Passwords never seem to work more than one sign in. Resetting the password is difficult. When you do manage to get signed in connecting to the Cefaly device seems to be hit or miss. Unsure how they made this app so bad but they figured out a way.

### 1/5 — Terrible bring back old app

*2026-03-09, version 4.4.4*

Terrible. Does no one at this company project manage anything? Doesn't work at all, and once I downloaded and tried this one the old app no longer shows intensity, or functions.

Renders device useless as can't tell what level it's on or how long is left. Furious with this company's service

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-03-09, version 4.4.4*

This app just got worse with the new update.

### 1/5 — Awful Application

*2026-03-06, version 4.4.3*

This is supposed to help with my migraines instead this app is causing one!

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2026-03-01, version 4.4.3*

The CC app is awful. It doesn’t actually control the machine the way it claims to, and half the features don’t even respond. The app doesn’t follow basic phone settings — the screen won’t darken or dim correctly, even when the iPhone settings are adjusted. It also fails to track usage accurately, which makes the entire point of the app useless. This is ridiculous for a product in 2026. It needs a serious overhaul and real functionality, not empty buttons and broken settings.

### 1/5 — Bad app design

*2026-02-25, version 4.4.3*

Listen, I like this product, but this is just as bad as the original app. It constantly disconnects, tells me that my battery is low when it isn’t and informs me multiple times throughout my treatment that my treatment has started. I’ll open the app. It’ll tell me that my device is connected, it will not in fact be connected, and I will have to re-pair it every single time I use the app. It also doesn’t consistently log my treatments because the app will just crash.

### 1/5 — Not user friendly

*2026-02-25, version 4.4.3*

I purchased a Cefaly on my docs recommendation. Too some to tell whether the treatment will work for me but the app is terrible. It doesn’t kick me off as others have said but some of the features seem to be there for looks and nothing else. One example is the stabilize button. I get no reaction and so have to keep starting and stopping the acute treatment as I can’t take full power yet. Hurts like hell. I have enough pain in my life! I’d really like to give this a try but the app needs an overhaul. If it’s not fixed I may just send it back.

### 2/5 — Much to be improved

*2026-02-24, version 4.4.3*

My review of the app has nothing to do with the device itself.

I actually quite like that you can use it entirely without the app - once I get the hang of it and learn my comfort levels I think that will be great (as who wants to stare at a phone during a migraine)

But the app is seriously lacking. Nerivio is a great example of a good app interface for migraine users.

This app looks like it was developed by a total novice - the buttons are out of alignment - when you go to stabilize treatment - the button should change to say “stable”.
I also cannot believe that it doesn’t auto log my treatments into the treatment calendar - I will literally never take the extra phone time to add in my CEFALY treatments - that should be automatic.

The how are you feeling emojis are grossly unhelpful - there is no in between Its either good or sick… nothing to really track daily symptoms or see trends over time.

Also took me ages to figure out I had to press the button while it was not on my forehead to connect to the app with the app open.

For paying the extra for the connected - I expected the app to be 100% better than it is.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-02-24, version 4.4.3*

I love the Cefaly device, but THIS APP IS TERRIBLE. I like having it to see and set the intensity of the treatment and to know how much longer it’s going to last, but that is it. While suffering from a migraine, the last thing I want to do is fuss with my phone. It seems like this app was designed by people who have never had a migraine in their life. Why do we need to pair the device with a code every time we use it? It should remember. I don’t like the “help me improve your experience” pop up that needs to be dismissed every time the app is opened. Why can’t we opt of these extra features so we don’t have to stare at our phone while having a migraine, which commonly causes light sensitivity?! I’m not going enter more information to the app when I am in pain and nauseous. The app also sends numerous notifications during the treatment, most of which are inaccurate (example: letting me know my preventative treatment has started 3 different times while I am in the middle of an acute treatment). We should have a button to press that bypasses these extra features and goes straight to acute treatment, where the Cefaly device should pair automatically.

### 1/5 — Deeply flawed app experience

*2026-02-20, version 4.4.3*

This app is glitchy and frequently loses connection with the cefaly device even when in active use and often multiple times during a session. There is no ability to drop down in intensity without ending the session and starting a new one. You have to have WiFi for the app to work. It’s ridiculous. The Bluetooth connection and app should work when you are traveling and away from WiFi. If I did not need this app for medical purposes I would never use it. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The cefaly device is super helpful for my migraines and my only wish is that the app development team will upgrade this app so it gets five stars from everyone.

### 1/5 — Bad App, No Better With Updates

*2026-02-18, version 4.4.3*

This app somehow gets worse with every release. Continuous disconnects, frustrating user experience, and unintuitive controls make it a major pain. It needs serious attention.

### 2/5 — App Needs Work

*2026-02-17*

The app is definitely buggy. I’ve had a session start on the device but the app somehow wasn’t showing a session being active. I have to pair the device every single time I start a new session. I’ve only had the device & app for 4 days and I’ve already been booted from the system and have an “inactive” login and there is no solution to reactivate without contacting support. I can’t even create a new account with a different email because when I use my name and date of birth, it prompts me to log in instead of creating an account. This means I am unable to use my device until they get back to me. I hope they’re quick because I do want to continue using the device.

### 1/5 — Great when it works

*2026-02-17, version 4.4.2*

I have had my account inactivated twice now even though the account has been in use the day before or two days before. Not to mention it randomly makes you have to log in when you didn’t log out. Other bugs were fixed but these are ongoing. I also had an issue where the intensity just stopped well below my threshold.

### 1/5 — The worst app on the planet

*2026-02-17, version 4.4.2*

Cefaly should really scrap this app and just start over. I have been using Cefaly with Cece for over a year now and this app has had nothing but problems. From glitches and bugs, to randomly signing me out, to now telling me my account is inactive and I can’t login. (I logged in last night). To pay over $500 for the Cefaly and then MORE for the device to connect to Bluetooth is legit highway robbery. The app doesn’t even use the Bluetooth to actually track my wears, you have to manually enter it. Cefaly let me do you a favor and give you some advice, fire ALL of your engineers and throw the app into the dumpster fire it is. START OVER.

### 1/5 — Insanely bad

*2026-02-04, version 4.4.2*

With the latest update I guess it flushed my sign-in credentials. When I opened the app it requires me to re-sign in. Annoying but ok. Won’t accept my email and password. Tried to reset - said email not found. Tried to re-register…said account already exists with that email. I give up!
UPDATE: I can now use the app but still requires me to sign in at least once a week. Also still requires me to go through the Bluetooth pairing procedure (enter code, etc) every time. I have the latest version 4.4.2 btw.

### 1/5 — Device is amazing, app is terrible.

*2026-01-31, version 4.4.2*

This device has been life changing for me. That being said, the app is absolutely horrible. It constantly logs me out, and won’t let me use apple to sign back in even though that’s how I created my account. It always says my password is wrong, I always have to reset my password. When you have a horrible migraine and just want to get the thing started, trying to reset your password, switch between apps and retype things is a nightmare. Then, when you get into the app the brightness goes all the way down. When you’re already struggling to see, the screen goes so dark you can’t see anything. Kind of a good thought, but bad execution. IfI haves migraine and my screen brightness is bothering me, it’s probably already turned down to where I need it. Turning up the brightness does nothing, it just turns back down. It says there’s a way to turn it off in the settings, but when you’re in the middle of a migraine and can barely function that’s the last thing you’re capable of finding. The intensity controls are weird. It starts increasing, and you can stop the increasing, but if it’s too high you can’t turn it back down, you have to disconnect and start over and catch it sooner. Then it always loses connection before the end of the session. I’ve never once had it stay connected the whole time. I’ve started setting a 60 min timer on my phone so I know when it’s supposed to be done, because otherwise I’d have no idea how much longer I have left after it disconnects unless I want to start the whole thing over. Please, please put some serious work into your app, and imagine trying to get into it when you’re in so much pain you can barely function and can’t see straight. I don’t want to login, I don’t want to reset my password, I don’t want to take a tour for the 20th time or comb through settings, I just want the fewest steps to press a button and get relief. This product really is hugely helpful for so many people, but the app ruins the experience.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Great device, terrible app

*2026-05-05, version 4.4.4*

Update 5/5/2026: still love the device. App still sucks.

I love the Cefaly device, but the app is essentially useless, which means spending the extra for the connected device was pointless unless they fix the app.
I have to enter the device pin every time I use it, the app frequently restarts the session, then never ends up actually logging anything.
I will just use the device manually for now, but I really hope they fix the app soon.

### 1/5 — So frustrating

*2026-05-03, version 4.4.4*

This has to be the worst medical app available. If gives me a headache trying to use it. Please fix the app so I don’t have to input a pin to use the device. Also please stop asking me about my day and focus on getting the device to stay connected and work. How about a Home Screen that says acute and prevent so I can pick one and the device just works. Maybe another button that takes you to a screen for people that want to give you their life story. This shouldn’t be so complicated.

### 1/5 — If I could give an app 0 stars, I would!!

*2026-04-30, version 4.4.4*

This app simply does not work. At best, it is difficult to navigate. At worst, it simply doesn’t work and makes the user experience of doing a Cefaly treatment WORSE. It really bothers me that when I go into the actually treatment graph screen that the brightness dims COMPLETELY and will not allow you to adjust. I have to strain my eyes to try to see the intensity of my treatment. Save yourself the trouble and just learn how to use the buttons on your Cefaly well. That, and a timer will work just fine. Love my Cefaly otherwise, but man is this app terrible.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-04-27, version 4.4.4*

I really wanted this to work but the app is completely broken on iOS AND Android. I don’t know if it’s the device or the apps. Someone else said the app used to work so I’m hopeful it will be fixed. Most likely returning this $700 device though. What a shame.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2026-04-20, version 4.4.4*

Constantly closing mid session, doesn’t save my information. 0/5 stars. Thought it needed an update but it literally just doesn’t work. Thank god you can use the device without the app

### 1/5 — Why can’t they get this app fixed?

*2026-04-19, version 4.4.4*

I have used a Cefaly for years and I love the devices but the app is terrible. The newest version finally lets me use my phone while using the device without dropping Bluetooth most of the time. I really hate the new light dimming feature. It does not allow me turn it off. Also, why make me pair every time and go through welcome tutorial? Truly the worst app! Wish they would get some new developers. I would pay for a really good app, but not this junk.

### 1/5 — Expensive device for it not to work

*2026-04-12, version 4.4.4*

Why is this app such trash? Expensive device, yet the app doesn’t work at all. Fix yourself.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2026-03-26, version 4.4.4*

The machine works, but the app really sucks. Anything you try to track doesn’t save, the controls for the machine are slow and sometimes don’t respond at all. The app is basically useless which is really disappointing for the price paid for the product.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-03-26, version 4.4.4*

Won’t connect. Won’t sign me in. Tells me I signed in with Google last time, which I didn’t, and still won’t sign me in. Then tells me my acct is inactive and to email for support. I did that. All they tell me is to delete the app and download it 24 hrs later. Thanks. Doesn’t work. I magically signed on once. Can’t get the device to work without the app.

### 1/5 — Device works but cece app does not.

*2026-03-24, version 4.4.4*

Device works wonderfully thank you. However the app does not. I’m on a iPhone. Once installed I can work some derides but Bluetooth drops a lot. Next session a screen pops up with nothing on it and it does not go to features. Just a blue screen.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It forgets you and is not intuitive

*2026-02-17, version 4.4.2*

The app doesn’t allow me to sign in half the time and now won’t allow me to sign in at all.
The logging is not intuitive. The device is great but the app leaves a lot to be desired.

### 5/5 — Great app to use with the CEFALY device!

*2026-01-21, version 4.4.2*

I’ve been using the CEFALY device along with the CeCe app for about 5 months now and can honestly say I love it! I love having the ability to track my migraine treatments on a daily basis and to see the exact percentage I’m at with the intensity during active treatment. I use the app 99.9% of the time I’m using my CEFALY device and cannot recommend it enough! Every now and then it has its glitches, but overall it performs well and has helped me manage my treatment schedule. I’m honestly very surprised it has so many negative reviews, as it’s worked great for me!

### 4/5 — Updated Review- CeCe App working much better!

*2025-07-12, version 4.3.26*

I received the newest update 4 days ago. The CeCe app has worked nicely since the update. It’s not getting stuck on the white screen now. 4 preventative treatments in a row with no problems. I appreciate the contact from Cefaly.
Thanks for fixing the issue Cefaly crew!

### 4/5 — Progress from previous app!

*2024-09-23*

Cefaly has been a life saver and safety blanket for me especially when traveling. i’ve always wanted to be able to control the intensity from my phone with the old app and it’s awesome to see that capability on this new app. It’s a huge step up from the prior functionality.

A few things that I noticed was the in session functionality. If I clicked out of the app, I had to reconnect and lost my previous session. It also didn’t consistently track my session so, I would think that might be a bug.

All in all, this is a huge upgrade from last app. Controlling the intensity from my phone was always a wish list item so I am glad that feature got pushed. I understand this is likely very difficult to connect to app from medical device, keep It up cefaly team!
