Still early in the game but I am enjoying it.

Sorry, this can't compare with Gradius or R type,
Ultimately gameplay is more important then grinding through repetitive levels to level up,
You have to have a reason to want to level up, that's it.
The graphics seem well drawn, there is potential if it were reworked
