## What is Cellar Wine Scanner?

You are handed a wine list with sixty bottles on it and four minutes to decide.
Cellar reads the whole thing and tells you what is actually worth ordering.

Photograph the pages. In seconds you get the best value picks across three
price tiers, anchored to what this list actually charges, with a short
explanation of why each bottle punches above its price.

THE WINE LIST, DECODED
- Snap up to 20 pages, or import photos, a PDF link, or a file
- Picks split into entry, mid, and splurge, priced off the list in front of you
- Plain reasoning for every pick, plus what to skip and why
- Tell it what you are eating and get pairings alongside the picks
- Filter by red, white, rose, or bubbles, and include by the glass pours

A BOTTLE, IDENTIFIED
- Point the camera at a label for producer, region, style, and drinking window
- See whether the price in front of you is fair before you commit

YOUR CELLAR, TRACKED
- Log what you own with cost basis, and see what the collection is worth
- Ask what to open tonight, or plan what to buy for a dinner
- Keep a tasting journal of what you drank and what you thought

A PALATE THAT LEARNS
- Rate what you drink and Cellar builds a picture of your taste
- Later picks get scored against that palate, with a note on why it fits
- Save favorites, revisit past scans, share a pick with the table

BUILT FOR THE DIM-LIT TABLE
Dark by default, readable at a candlelit table, fast enough to use while the
server is waiting. Your scans sync across devices and stay readable offline.

Sign in with Apple. Delete your account and everything in it whenever you want.

Cellar gives you an informed opinion, not gospel. Prices and ratings are
estimates, and the last word on what to drink is always yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10.1 — 2026-08-13

Fixed a bug where scanning a list that names wines by appellation alone, common
on Italian lists, could fail to return picks at all. Those lists now read
cleanly, and picks without a named producer display properly on the card,
in the detail view, and in shared text.

### 1.8.6 — 2026-07-05

New: import wine label photos from your library in batches of up to 20. Log past tastings backdated from the photo's date, or add your whole rack to My Cellar in one go. Review and edit every read before anything saves. The bottle scanner also now detects when it's looking at a wine list and routes it to the right scanner.

### 1.8.3 — 2026-06-18

Cellar now learns your taste.

Tell Cellar what you love and what to skip, and every scan scores each wine for how well it fits you.

Taste profile: set your loved and avoided grapes, regions, producers, styles, and price comfort. Quick to set up, optional, and editable anytime.
Thumbs ratings: rate any bottle up, so-so, or down from a scan, your favorites, or your cellar. The more you rate, the sharper your picks get.
"For you" notes: list and single-bottle scans now explain why a wine fits your taste, or why it might not.
Smarter ranking: wines are ordered by your personal fit, and your hard no-gos are filtered out automatically.

### 1.8.1 — 2026-06-16

Cellar ratings, smarter favorites, and a faster way to scan again.

• Tap into any wine on a scanned list to see its Cellar rating — scored for that exact bottling and vintage, not the producer's entry-level wine. When we can't confidently match it, we say "not rated yet" instead of guessing.

• Save a wine to Favorites in one tap. Your favorite now keeps its Cellar rating, the restaurant, and the price from that list — works offline and syncs automatically, with no duplicates for the same bottle.

• Tap the Scan tab to start a fresh scan instantly, without scrolling to the bottom of your results.

Plus reliability improvements throughout.

### 1.6.8 — 2026-06-13

Scans are way faster.

Wine list scans now finish in about a third of the time — around 10 seconds instead of 30.
No more staring at a spinner: picks appear on screen as the sommelier finds them.
Bottle scans show the wine the moment the label is read, while the full profile finishes up.
Photos upload faster too, especially on spotty restaurant Wi-Fi or cellular.
