### 3/5 — Deleted progress

*2020-01-15, version 6.7.6*

Loved it at first, but now it keeps deleting my progress. Also when I click on specific subject details it says I got 0 out of X amount of questions but when I click to see the questions I took it shows my correct answers. Idk why it’s not uploading or updating my progress and keeps saying I got 0 correct.

**Developer response:** Hi there! So sorry to hear about this issue! Please contact us through the app and we’ll get this problem sorted out asap. We appreciate your understanding and support.

### 3/5 — Very simple

*2019-12-17, version 6.7.6*

The questions provided are not in depth when compared to the CEN review manual from ENA. I have not take the CEN exam yet, but I’m disappointed with the questions I have taken so far. I don’t think it’s worth $50.

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We greatly appreciate your taking the time to leave us valuable feedback.

### 2/5 — Repeated questions

*2019-07-24, version 6.7.3*

I want to love this app, but I find that 7/10 questions are ones that I’ve had before. This essentially makes the app useless for studying. Why is this happening?

**Developer response:** Hi there! So sorry to hear about this issue! Please contact us through the app and we’ll get this problem sorted out asap. We appreciate your understanding and support.

### 2/5 — Review for CEN Pocket Prep

*2019-06-18, version 6.7.3*

Content is too basic, regret I made this purchase

### 3/5 — VERY glitchy

*2019-04-10, version 6.7*

It seems that the more questions that I complete, the worse the app gets. It is very laggy and always shutting down. It will randomly restart while I’m in the middle of a test. I have never paid $50 for an app, so I expected something that would work seamlessly. I was wrong.

In terms of the content, the questions and rationales are good. I can’t speak to whether or not it correlates with the exam, as I’m due to take it in a few days. I really am not a fan of the fact that questions were constantly repeated. There is no option to turn repeat questions on or off. This is even more irritating when you get to the end of the “800 questions” and it says that you completed all questions but actually have 200+ questions that you haven’t even seen.

Overall: content is promising but the technicalities definitely need a lot of improvement.

**Developer response:** Hi there! So sorry to hear about this issue! Please contact us through the app or our website, and we’ll get this problem sorted out asap. We appreciate your understanding and support!

### 3/5 — Why so expensive? I already paid you for the test

*2019-04-08, version 6.7*

Good content but the price is ridiculous 😩

### 4/5 — More Pictures would make it 5 starts

*2019-01-27, version 6.7*

This app is really awesome but it occasionally crashes and needs to be rebooted. I also think it would be perfect if it had more pictures to explain the answers.

### 3/5 — Content is great. App not-so-much

*2018-11-05, version 6.5.6*

I echo some of the other reviewers here in that the content for the CEN is excellent and well organized. But the app itself is buggy, unreliable and often very slow. Like others I paid for the premium content but it often does not load the content or takes minutes to load. If I happen to be without an internet connection the content doesn’t load at all. I would hope that it wouldn’t have to verify my purchase every time. Additionally the exam builder is very buggy in that it will frequently not have any content on it at all. Bottom line though the app is useful and very helpful and if the app itself is tightened up this will easily be a five star product.

### 2/5 — Not Recommended

*2018-10-17, version 6.5.6*

Some of the questions had stuff I’ve never even heard about which was not a true reflection of what the CEN was. Some questions were good. I stopped using it because the unknown subjects were more frustrating and than rewarding.

### 4/5 — Great study tool!

*2018-10-11, version 6.5.6*

Very reflective of CEN

### 3/5 — Want to give it 5/5

*2018-07-29, version 6.5.4*

Concept and features are all great. I paid for the premium account and have been using this app the last 2 months to study for my exam coming up this Wednesday. The questions of the day have been repeating themselves, the app crashes, and the new exam readiness feature rarely works. The app is slow to create quizzes and I’ve checked for updates thinking it’s my phone or connection. Has great ideas and the question content is good but it’s been frustrating to even open the app lately because of the glitches.

### 4/5 — Nice review

*2018-07-21, version 6.5.4*

This website is a good review but I can’t give it 5 stars because there aren’t enough “free” questions. I’ve reviewed all the free questions within a week, now I need to upgrade ($) for more questions.

### 3/5 — Need better explanation

*2017-07-14, version 6.3.2*

I think we all learn best when there is clear explanation on all choices not just the right choice. Also linking relevant information to sources would really help in studying for CEN.

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2019-09-16, version 6.7.3*

I downloaded the free version to see how the questions were. Those first few days I got constant messages asking me to upgraded or if I needed a tutor. I upgraded to the classic and charged $31 but never got the 400 questions. I’ve been trying to get in touch with someone to fix the problem. No response. The app just refers you to articles to read to fix your own problem. Oh and after I made the upgrade, surprise no more messages from staff. Don’t waste you money. Stick to ENA. At least they’ll give you what you pay for.

**Developer response:** Hi there! So sorry to hear about this issue! Please contact us through the app and we’ll get this problem sorted out asap. We appreciate your understanding and support.

### 1/5 — Not a winner

*2019-05-09, version 6.7.3*

The very first question I had gave the wrong answer. Doesn’t bode well so won’t be continuing with this app.

The question referred to Grade 2 Stimulant Poisoning.
The correct s/s expected with grade 2 stimulant poisoning are: agitated, responds to pain, mydriasis. Instead, this app gave the s/s of grade 3 stimulant poisoning for the answer.

**Developer response:** Hi there! This question is actually correct as-is. That said, we realize there were too many body systems referenced, making it harder to determine the correct answer. We've rewritten the item to reduce confusion and pushed it to the live app. Here's the newly revised question and explanation:

Question / Concept:
If a patient is diagnosed with grade 2 stimulant poisoning, what acid-base disturbances would you most likely expect?

Explanation:
Correct answer: HCO3 ~10-14 or >40mmol/L; pH ~7.15-7.24 or 7.60-7.69

Patients who have grade 1 stimulant poisoning will exhibit mild acid-base disturbances (HCO3 ~15-20 or 30-40 mmol/L; pH ~7.25-7.32 or 7.50-7.59).

Patients who have grade 2 stimulant poisoning will exhibit moderate acid-base disturbances (HCO3 ~10-14 or >40mmol/L; pH ~7.15-7.24 or 7.60-7.69).

Patients who have grade 3 stimulant poisoning will exhibit severe acid-base disturbances (HCO3 ~10 mmol/L; pH ~<7.15 or >7.7).

### 1/5 — Sorry I made the purchase.

*2019-03-03, version 6.7*

Many of these questions have nothing to do with the CEN and are more aligned with nursing school. I truly believe after taking many tests, they will not allow you to do well. They give strange questions no one knows the answers to and then offer you a “tutor”. Seems pretty fishy to me. I definitely would not purchase this item if I had it to do over. You are better off studying with the book from ENA.

### 1/5 — Is this really CEN prep?

*2018-10-14, version 6.5.6*

Not sure this app is accurate! I do not agree with many of the questions, nor think it is ER nurse appropriate at times.!

### 1/5 — Lost premier version

*2018-04-22, version 6.5.2*

My data simply disappeared few months after I paid for the premium version. So far they haven’t retrieved it for me or got my money back.

### 1/5 — So glitchy!

*2018-03-09, version 6.5.1*

When the app is actually working it’s great, but it is so glitchy and constantly fails to load. I really wish I had spent my 30 bucks elsewhere

### 1/5 — Ugh

*2016-06-18, version 6.0.1*

Have to agree with other reviewer... love this app, however the update was a serious downgrade. It's more difficult to use, far less intuitive, and what happened to all the "Questions of the Day" I have answered since I purchased the app??? I used to be able to see and review them all, including answers with explanations. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work!!

*2016-06-17, version 6.0.1*

I loved the old version of this app and was recommending it to many of my coworkers and friends.... With the new update it is completely not functional. The app runs very slowly, will not load QOTD, deleted my data, and keeps giving me the same 20 questions even though I paid for the full app. I am extremely frustrated because I take CEN next week. :( :( :(

### 2/5 — Not CEN questions

*2020-09-20, version 6.7.9*

The questions are more like general nursing questions and not specific to emergency nursing. Additionally, they are not well written or the same caliber as those made by the ENA BCEN. I really wish I could get a refund, I was misled.

Here’s an example of a “CEN Question”.

“Which female organ is responsible for protecting a fetus?”

### 2/5 — Meh

*2019-10-14, version 6.7.3*

I paid for the app and am about 100 questions in. I noticed that I am getting a lot of repeat questions. It’s pretty frustrating.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — CEN Pocket Prep

*2019-12-10, version 6.7.6*

This app has lots of questions, including rationales, that to take help prepare you to take the CEN Exam. Questions are rigorous and current.

### 5/5 — Love this app!!!

*2019-10-28, version 6.7.3*

Love this app, makes it easy to use at work when you want to take a quick test and monitor your progress!!!!

**Developer response:** Hello Katy! Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re so thrilled you’re enjoying the app. We wish you the best!

### 5/5 — Passed!!!!!

*2019-08-23, version 6.7.3*

I used this app and passed my CEN!!!! This was the only app/program I used to study for the exam. I gave myself three weeks and completed all the questions. In addition, I reviewed topics that I scored poorly on. Many questions do repeat, but I found that to helpful in reinforcing information. One and done 🤙🏻

### 5/5 — Truly a great study tool

*2019-03-03, version 6.7*

I previously added a comment that this app was great but it was slow and kept crashing. Since then I have gotten a new iPad and it works great, no problems! Also, I did not get an updated iPhone but had to replace mine because of battery issues and now no longer have any issues with this device either. Maybe a combo of newer device and bugs that were worked out but this is the best study app! Tons of questions, able to customize anyway I want. I love the 10 question quiz option, the question of the day, being able to choose specific content and how many questions I want to answer. I really like flagging questions I’m struggling with and being able to just study those flagged questions. This is a great app!!!!

### 5/5 — Easy way to study on the go

*2019-01-31, version 6.7*

This is a great way to study at any time

### 5/5 — Keeps me motivated

*2018-06-10, version 6.5.3*

Love the question of the day notification! It’s nice having explanations only if needed. Also love to know my exam readiness

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2018-06-07, version 6.5.3*

Great program worth the price!

### 5/5 — Great

*2018-04-14, version 6.5.1*

Great and informative!

### 5/5 — Fun!!!

*2018-03-20, version 6.5.1*

I love being able to learn while relaxing. It’s super fun!

### 5/5 — Realistic questions

*2017-03-17, version 6.1.5*

The question format was on par with the actual exam. The rationales were very helpful and I loved that you can design your practice tests based on your needs.
