Türkiye’nin deri sektöründe dünya genelinde ilgi uyandırdığı 1981’lerin sonunda Sn. CENGİZ DUMAN Tarım ve Hayvancılık yaptığı Mardin’in Midyat ilçesinden köylülerinin vasıtası ile İstanbul’a doğru yola çıkar. Çalışkanlığı ve kabiliyeti ile deri mont üretimine makine ustalığında çıraklıktan kalfalığa, kalfalıktan ustalığa yükselir. Kardeşlerini bu vesile ile İstanbul’a deri mont üretim işine yönlendirir.  İstanbul da işi çekirdekten öğrenen DUMAN KARDEŞLER; Cengiz DUMAN Deri Dikim Ustası,
Ömer DUMAN Modelist, Reşit DUMAN Deri Ayakçısı işini öğrenirler. 1990’ların başında Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgesin de deri sektörünün eksikliğini görürler ve Batmanda imalattan perakende satışa başlarlar.
