I asked a lot of questions and Dr. Tessa answered all my questions. I liked her. She was kind and patient in in our conversation I gathered she cared and was doing more than just a job. It was a very positive and enlightening experience. The only reason that I didn’t give her five stars is because there is no such thing in my book. I am glad I chose to try this out. The doctor that came and saw my father was extremely knowledgeable and informative of his condition and meds. Very professional. We are requesting the same doctor for the follow-up visits and so on. Working with the online and phone operators was a pleasant experience as they too were informative and very helpful. I did not appreciate spending two hours of my morning waiting for your nurse. Myself and my wife needed to do our annual physical and blood work. Booked the appointment on the Heal App. The doctor and assistant arrived to our home on time and we got a full exam and blood drawn in the comfort of our home. Three day’s later the doctor followed up with a teleCall where he went through our blood work results and prescribed a couple of medications. This service is truly amazing and to know it is fully covered by our insurance. Recommend this to any family especially if you have children who tend to get sick often and can be seen by a doctor in the comfort of your home. Dr. Bala was very courteous and knowledgeable and answered all our questions and concerns in great detail. We get quality and longer visit time with the doctor than we do at a doctor’s clinic. This is the second time I’ve had an appt for my 91 yr old father that no one showed up at the date/time scheduled. AND no one called to let us know that the appt was canceled. On top of that I had gotten 3 emails and 2 phone calls to confirm the appt. My 91 year old - housebound - father was in pain and anxious about the appt which was set for 8am-10am and then changed from 6-8pm. It was only after I called the Heal call ctr that they told me, after being on hold for 20 minutes, that they had canceled the appt and were rescheduling it. Keeps telling me I have incorrect username and password combination. That should be for login, not account set up. They have doctors that violate patients HIPPA rights and you have to pull teeth just to get any refills on your prescriptions. Sometimes it’s can take up to a week for your doctors to submit refills and prescriptions. Not great healthcare at its finest as they contribute to the broken healthcare system. App is confusing and difficult to obtain personal information. ### 1/5 — Scam artists *2021-01-29, version 4.28.0* Booked an appointment from 2-4. About 4:30 I reached out asking what was going on. Support said “sorry, we didn’t have anything available today not sure why it let you book, but someone will reach out shortly to reschedule.” No one did, then around 7:30 I get an email saying my visit was completed. Of course I lost it and contacted support again. Shortly thereafter, someone called me and told me to go to a hospital. I was charged $79.00 and will be disputing it with my bank and reporting them to the attorney general and the BBB. Don’t fall for their scam!! ### 1/5 — COVID-19 Safety Protocol *2021-01-17* If you are hoping to use this app as a safe alternative to going to doctor’s offices during the pandemic MAKE SURE you stick to virtual doctor’s appointment only because adherence to COVID-19 protocol is not guaranteed during house calls. I started using the Heal app to manage my medication during the COVID-19 pandemic. My doctor insisted that a house call ($159 by the way) was necessary and I understand that doctors need to maintain a level of professional integrity so I complied under the condition that he be masked and we stay 6 feet apart at all times. The driver (who I assume is also a Heal nurse because she was looking at my medical information) asked me why I was standing so far away and I said, “Because of the global pandemic.” She laughed and rolled her eyes. She went back in the car and the doctor and I continued our conversation. He had pulled his mask down, exposing his nose and mouth to continue this conversation. Then the driver gets out of the car, interrupting my conversation with the doctor telling me I HAD to come closer due to confidentiality. I said that I waive that right in order to stay safe. Patients should not be made to feel that they are being ridiculous for adhering to the safety protocols posted on Heal’s own website. ### 1/5 — Dishonest pricing, clueless support *2021-01-16, version 4.28.0* The app touts transparent pricing as its selling point. What you see on app is what you pay. But that is not true. They have the same loopholes that you need to go for a normal insurance visit like deductibles and copays and when the app shows $0 for a visit you can be sure that it is lying and you will be charged fully for a visit including your deductible and copays. The chat support is clueless about insurance (your deductible is $0 but your family deductible is $2800, yeah right, do you understand how insurance works?). Emails to the support email go unanswered. At least other apps like Teladoc are honest about their pricing and have genuine tie ups with insurance. Heal app is just an in network provider with a broken and incorrect billing implementation. ### 1/5 — Try someone else *2021-01-11, version 4.28.0* No one bothered to contact us during our 2 hour appt window. Nearly an hour after the window, they finally contacted and said it would be longer - don’t lead people on and give them spots you can fulfill. Try another provider. ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2021-01-06, version 4.27.4* The doctor was knowledgeable and very nice, but my prescription was never electronically sent to the pharmacy, and my care plan will not open in the app. I have no way of reaching the doctor. What am I supposed to do? I will have to call a regular doctor now. Also, the doctor said a follow up appointment was made for me, but that appears to never have happened either. ### 1/5 — Terrible customer service! *2020-12-29, version 4.27.4* The doctor and people you speak with on the phone are nice, but I have had the hardest time getting issues resolved. I needed a doctors note for a life insurance application, it took 5 WEEKS to get a very simple note (after calling every few days asking about it). Now I have a billing issue and I have called and emailed for 5 WEEKS now and billing has not gotten back to me after contacting them 6 times about it. There is no number for billing so I can’t get in contact with them directly. The convenience of having a doctor come to your house does not outweigh how much time I’ve spent dealing with other issues. I do not recommend this service. ### 1/5 — Was good, now it’s a nightmare. *2020-12-23, version 4.27.4* Used the service numerous times over the span of a few years. Then I got a $199 bill for a 7 min teleconference appt that I was quoted no copay for. I called billing, have spent over 45 min on the phone with someone who clearly has never done billing. He finally admitted to me that he does not do billing but he is going back and forth on the phone with billing. Why doesn’t your billing staff speak with patients directly? Why is a 5 minute phone call taking an hour to complete? And now he is telling me they are no longer contracted with Cigna even though they told me they were when I had my visit. And they will not let me have the cash visit price even though they don’t take my insurance. So, I’ve wasted another hour on a phone call with no resolution. My mother has full blown Alzheimer’s disease and is bedridden, so she has a Heal doctor come visit her monthly. I can make a televisit with Doctor’s anytime. The only drawback is that a doctor is not usually available for two weeks, but you can request your doctor call you ASAP. I can make and cancel appointments with the push of a button. Whenever I call them, or chat with them through the app, their customer service is outstanding.
