CENTINELA: TACTICAL NAVIGATION Centinela is a tactical navigation app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch that brings together map, tools and coordination in a single interface. Plan, visualise and share information over digital maps, and connect with the TAK ecosystem when the operation requires it. ONLINE AND OFFLINE MAPS Work with base maps from Apple, Google and IGN (standard, satellite, hybrid, terrain and topographic). Import and render offline cartography to operate with no coverage, with support for CompeGPS/TwoNav .rmap and handling of GeoTIFF, MBTiles, KML/KMZ, GeoPDF, JNX, MAP and IMP. Activate, hide, reorder, share and overlay your maps on top of the base map. WAYPOINTS AND ROUTES Mark key points by tapping the map, entering coordinates or importing them from a file. Organise your waypoints into lists, assign icons and send them to the server. Plan routes and record your tracks in real time to analyse or repeat them. Requires firmware 2.8.0 or newer on the radios. • New guide under Settings → Meshtastic listing the required Meshtastic app configuration. • Contacts no longer disappear from the map between position updates. • Names with accents or emoji no longer interrupt incoming data. • Send rate tuned for LoRa: less network congestion and lower power use. Routes • Creating or recording a route no longer sends it to the rest of the team. It is now shared only from its share option. • Points no longer flicker while you draw a route. Drawings • When editing a shape, colour, opacity and border now apply to the whole shape, not just its label. Map • Connection indicator simplified to Connected / Disconnected. • The map now shows how many contacts are in view. ### 1.5 — 2026-07-24 Improved Location: the app now shares your location only during the active session and no longer uses Significant Location Changes, preventing unwanted relaunches after the app is closed. GPX Waypoints: imported lists keep their original name and are created as visible lists; exports now preserve the list name, description, altitude, and affiliation icons (SIDC). Data Packages: when importing waypoints from files, the original list is preserved and is automatically made visible. KML Routes: LineString geometries are now prioritized over auxiliary points, preventing markers or landmarks from being converted into route vertices. ### 1.4 — 2026-07-04 Added Geofences tool: Create alerts from drawn zones, enable entry and exit notifications, filter targets between TAK users, enemies, or both, and review the crossing history. Geofence alerts: Local notifications with banner, sound/vibration, and a counter when a target crosses a geofence; occupancy is stored to prevent duplicate alerts. Improved Maps and KMZ: Added GroundOverlay detection in KML/KMZ files, including data packages, to correctly import georeferenced maps. Tactical map: Tracks the visible map region to georeference from the current view and evaluate geofences using the map's current data. ### 1.3 — 2026-07-02 Added * Go To tool: search for an address or place, center the map on the result, and highlight the area with a translucent green circle that disappears automatically when the map is moved. * Georeference tool: overlay an image or PDF (from Photos or Files) on the map, adjust the four corners, and save it as a KMZ in Maps.
