However I have struggled profusely with this app. The buttons don’t work and it’s near impossible to start a chat, get a refill, etc. I’m not sure if it’s a bug issue or otherwise but when a prescription is out I should be able to get my medication without having to call a number because their app doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Misleading and deceptive!! *2026-03-25, version 4.5.0* One star is not low enough to state how bad of an app and how much they mislead clients. To think this is a mental health app but they definitely mislead those who are needing help. DO NOT USE THIS APP FOR YOUR OWN MENTAL SAKE DONT DO IT ### 4/5 — App is a bit clunky *2026-03-24, version 4.5.0* I have had a great experience using cerebral as a service, and their website/app has come a long way. However, it still feels clunky and slow no matter what device or network i’m on. That’s really the only issue i’ve had with their service. Like any telehealth therapy service sometimes you need to find a new therapist/psychiatrist but that has been a rare occurrence for me. ### 2/5 — Look elsewhere for prescriptions *2026-03-20, version 4.5.0* I signed up for a medication only plan. Added my insurance and got charged $224 for ONE visit. I had a mandatory follow up 2 weeks later, then charged another $97! Thought it was ridiculous since the plans without insurance are $180 for 3 MONTHS. I was well over that already for one month, and I wasted my HSA money on this app. On the bright side, my prescriber was very professional and helpful, but I don’t agree with the costs. I switched to GoodRX gold and have saved so much money there. ### 2/5 — If you have ADHD, do not even bother. *2026-03-13, version 4.4.42* They cannot provide full service and you are just gonna be wasting your time and money. They are only people that can help you with depression and anxiety. I have been a loyal customer for over two years and have never felt the need to leave a review till now. Scheduling is fairly easy when it works. Technical assist is non-existent. They close requests without actually fixing anything. I wrote to them very specifically about an issue I’m still having with push notifications and they told me to send an email reiterating everything I just told them. One time my therapist didn’t show up to an appt after I had already checked in and they tried to charge me for not showing up to the appt. They did fix the issue quickly but it shouldn’t have been an issue in the first place. I’m glad to have a company that works with my insurance and access to a therapist and prescriber but the app itself needs improvement. ### 2/5 — Convenient app, lackluster therapy *2026-01-08, version 4.4.41* This app made scheduling a paying for my therapy a breeze. I have zero issues with the technology. My issue with Cerebral is it seems like a sweatshop. My therapy sessions always felt rushed. My therapists lacked the empathy and caring for me as a person that I have experienced with in person therapy. They always seemed to be in a rush to wrap up a session 10-15 minutes before the scheduled end time. I had one therapist who could not have possibly cared any less about her job, my treatment, and my wellbeing. I’m sure there are good mental health professionals on staff at Cerebral, but I don’t think it’s a platform that lets them shine. Would not recommend to a friend. ### 1/5 — Extremely misleading - poorly managed company *2025-11-29, version 4.4.41* I was very dissatisfied with my experience. It stated with misleading cost information, inability to take accountability, billing wrong insurance, and poor in company communication with a ton of inconsistency. Go ANYWHERE else. ### 1/5 — Dangerous app for those struggling with suicide *2025-11-06, version 4.4.41* This app was recommended to me after several friends committed suicide back to back and at first it seemed great. I was told to schedule my appointments weeks in advance, which I did and scheduled 5 weeks back to back, and I was immediately put on Lexapro on my first day. Shortly after my 4th therapy appointment and 2nd psychiatry appointment I was billed back to back for every single session, which was close to $700 after insurance. I felt manipulated, my concerns dismissed when I had mentioned my lexapro was putting me into a deep suicidal state and their scummy payment department refused to let me do a payment plan. My treatment was canceled immediately and I was left with no help and a $700 bill; “this happens a lot” is what I was told when I voiced all my concerns to my psychiatrist. There are so many mental health resources out there but please do not pursue this one. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — UNRELIABLE *2026-08-28, version 4.5.0* Have booted my providers no notice multiple times, don’t respond to you in guaranteed windows, let your meds run out. An absolute scam and DANGEROUS for your mental health ### 1/5 — So many “error” messages. *2026-08-01, version 4.5.0* Won’t let me log in, keeps saying there is an error. If by some miracle I can get it, trying to switch doctors or even make an appt causes another error. Like this is a mental health app…. Throughout the day, they stayed in touch with me, which I really appreciated. When it came time for my virtual appointment, everything went smoothly from start to finish. What mattered most to me was that I genuinely felt heard and understood during my session. It’s not always easy to open up, but the provider made me feel comfortable and listened to what I had to say. Overall, it was a really positive experience, and I’m glad I gave it a try. ### 5/5 — Great prescribers horrible support staff *2025-09-12, version 4.4.38* I have had wonderful prescribers that have given me zero complaints since I’ve started with Cerebral 2/2022 and I’ve seen a lot since I was travel nursing and had to get someone licensed in each state I lived in. I was looking to add therapy to hopefully accelerate treatment progress however when I did I was never told my care would be charged that night. Cerebral was fully aware I wanted to upgrade however could not do so until I was paid. I selected therapist and had an upcoming appointment for medication so I thought I was all set. Forward to the following day and imagine my surprise when I got notification that my account and appointments were canceled. I was told that since it canceled nothing can be done unless I pay. They won’t let me downgrade temporarily back to med only without paying even though I’m well within my 27 day grace period. DON’T trust the care team because if it’s an account problem you’ll receive 5 different answers to the same question from 5 different people ### 5/5 — This is how mental health services should be! *2025-08-11, version 4.4.36* I’m not one to write a review but this app is worth paying the monthly to have access to your provider at very short notice. The provider also calls you dont get a missed appointment fee, the app also texts you so there’s no second guessing when it will be ready or if the prescription is being filled and the providers are all professionals with excellent service!
