I’ve read that the questions are outdated, but other than that, it’s a solid app. ### 3/5 — Good APP but outdated *2019-07-02, version 4.5.0* I am going through the tax portion and all of the numbers are old and outdated. Please update your app. These changes have been in effect since December of 2017. Otherwise the app is a great additional study tool! ### 3/5 — Ehhhh... *2018-07-14, version 4.5.0* Not bad but A LOT of questions with wrong answers having nothing to do with the question (ie. How are death benefits from a Mec taxed? Correct answer: The income test and asset test?!). In some tests there are so many it will significantly mess up your score. That being said, the questions that are written correctly are on point. ### 4/5 — Will this be updated to 2017 numbers? *2018-06-13, version 4.5.0* Great content but should be updated to 2017 numbers... ### 4/5 — Great way to fit studying into your day *2016-03-08, version 3.14.1* Although it does not ask super-nuanced questions (like the newer behavioral finance topics) I really like this app. It is a great way to study for 5-10 minutes when you just have a short period of time. You can pick a topic and answer 2 questions. Or 32. I find I am studying more often because of this app and learning where my trouble spots are. It could never be a stand-alone way to study, but as a supplement to Keir or other materials, this app is very worth the price. ### 3/5 — Good app but $40 for full version??!? *2015-07-08, version 3.6* The app could use explanation on formula used to come up with answers on the math problems ### 3/5 — Good for quizzing, not for learning *2014-11-12, version 3.4.0* I'm taking the CFP here shortly and this app has been a help for short quizzing but don't try to learn anything off of it. This is mainly because the "rational" it gives for the answer is typically only the question itself. Example - "a QTIP trust is only for (?) people" Answer - Married Rational - A QTIP is only for married people. Uhh, thanks for that helping in learning the subject, I guess... Thanks do such a useful app! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Beware Outdated Questions *2026-07-12, version 4.5.0* Beware - within the first 2 practice questions, I received an outdated question stating that mortgage interest on loans up to $1M and up to $100k on home equity were tax deductible. This changed with Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017!!! I am not going to be using this App. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BUY *2023-08-14, version 4.5.0* I paid $30 for this stupid app only to get outdated or incorrect questions. Whatever you do, don’t pay for it. Many questions are wrong and formatting can be hard to read. Save your money and either buy the book or get a few different apps instead. ### 2/5 — Very Basic with short explanations *2014-11-16, version 3.4.0* The app is great for quizzing and knowledge refreshment, but many of the explanations are very basic. The designers could have put a better summary for the question explanations. I like the layout and design of the app, but don't rely on the details. Unfortunately many of the questions provided wrong answers and are incorrect with the actual material. Some updating and time investment into the summary details of the answers is needed. This is exactly what you want in an app ### 5/5 — Very helpful for passing the CFP exam! *2017-07-18, version 4.5.0* I used this app the last few months and I'm happy to report that I passed the board exam yesterday. The app's best feature is the questions bank and the ability to flag them red or yellow if you're not too familiar with a certain topic. I revisited those questions to brush up on them and it helped greatly.
