## What is CFR Obs Sim?

Description
Patient Obs Simulator is a realistic patient observation training tool designed for tutors running CFR clinical simulation sessions.

Select from 14 clinical scenarios and watch a patient's vital signs change in real time, from a stable starting presentation through to deterioration or improvement. The trainee CFR practises taking observations, identifies clinical concern using NEWS2 scoring, and develops the habit of systematic assessment under realistic time pressure.

Designed for tutors
The simulator runs in tutor view: patient history, clinical cues, and trend information are visible only to the person running the session. Reveal details only when the trainee asks, replicating real pre-hospital history-taking. A built-in help guide walks new tutors through every feature.

14 clinical scenarios
Asthma · Sepsis · Hypoglycaemia · Hyperglycaemia · Overdose · COPD · Hyperventilation · Angina · Myocardial Infarction · Cardiac Arrest · Anaphylaxis · Stroke · Head Injury · Pulmonary Embolus

Each scenario includes a unique patient:  name, age, gender, past medical history, medications, last oral intake, and events leading up to the call and three vital sign snapshots: starting, deterioration, and improvement.

Real-time NEWS2 scoring
Vital signs are automatically scored using the national NEWS2 early warning system. The total score, RAG status, and per-parameter breakdown update in real time as the scenario progresses. COPD scenarios use NEWS2 SpO₂ Scale 2 automatically.

Observation tracking
Six vital parameters — heart rate, respiratory rate, SpO₂, blood pressure, ACVPU consciousness level, and blood glucose — each have a Take button the trainee activates when they assess that parameter. Once all six are taken, the set can be logged with a timestamp and NEWS2 score for post-session debrief.
