It opens fine as a AU plugin from a host but not in standalone. When I attempt to open i see the splash screen for a 1-2 seconds then the app closes. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, rebooting device,etc Nothing has worked. Emailed support and have not gotten a reply. I really need this to work in standalone mode on my device. ### 4/5 — Smooth and Promising *2020-05-08* Excellent app with everything going smoothly. Certainly the best sampler app out there! Can’t wait for you to port it on macOS so we can use it in Logic and others DAW and navigate from mac to ipad & vice verça. There’s a clear need for such a smooth and efficient simple sampler there! Please do it, I’m ready to pay again! fews remarks for developpers : - the closing icon (Exit) of some pop-up windows it not intuitively located. or should be more obvious. Or taping outside of it should close it ? - there is clearly a room for at least one lfo modulation unit. Not thousands of modulators, but just one good old LFO would be useful. Or one LFO per sample. Next to VCF, there’s room and would be logic, isn’t it ? Keep up the good work! ### 4/5 — Very useful app *2020-03-03* Nice to see this update to real-time sample editing, however auto zero cross snapping is a hindrance to realtime precision unless it can be disabled. Otherwise this app has great potential **Developer response:** Sorry to hear you are having issues. Version 1.17 attempts to resolve your issue by allowing real time audition of modified loop points while playing. I have also added automatic snap to zero crossing on this version which makes it much easier to setting loop points. use the nudge for fine adjust if needed. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Limited Sampling Ability. *2025-03-06* The app unfortunately is limited to a maximum of 32 samples per preset. I would not have purchased this app had I known about this limit beforehand. Hours of time were wasted before learning about the limit. So do NOT expect to have a portable software sampler that can achieve “individually sampled” notes across a meaningful range (mapping each sample to specific keys). Layered preset functionality (as in 2 presets/64 samples total) would solve this. Microtonal tuning, for example, unfortunately is something that you will still have to turn to MacOS desktop software to achieve. **Developer response:** There is a limitation of 32 samples simply because being able to sample more is simpnot neccesary. If you are sampling 7 octaves (84 notes) that allows one sample to cover 3 semitones which is more than enough. You really don't need to sample every note to get a good sounding instrument. The presents use no more than 12 samples to cover an entire keyboard and sound great. ### 1/5 — Developer inattentive. *2025-02-14* This developer is impossible to get a hold of, and they have not shown any indication of plans to update some of their paywalled products, rendering them prone to obsolescence. I would recommend not purchasing from them, as it appears that all of your purchases will become useless and obsoleted once other app developers and Apple update their own products. **Developer response:** You can contact me via my YouTube or FaceBook channels if for some reason the email isn't working. Grazie per la risposta ma anche disattivando autostop il campionamento si ferma ugualmente correggete questo bug e fate in modo che se voglio campionare un minuto o 2 non si blocchi ### 1/5 — Loop Start /Loop End fehlen als Auv3 controls *2019-05-13* Ich habe mir diese App extra wegen der Möglichkeit, Loop Start und Loop end zu setzen gekauft. Da es sich um eine Auv3 App handelt, bin ich selbstverständlich davon ausgegangen, dass diese Parameter über die Controls z.B. in Apematrix manipulierbar sind, leider ist das nicht der Fall, hier müsste dringend nachgebessert werden. Die Antwort des Entwicklers, dass man das nicht erwarten könne, lässt zu wünschen übrig, denn z.B. beim OP-1 ist diese Arte des Zugriffs, der auch Automatisierung mit einschließt, selbstverständlich , was soll also diese absolut phantasielose Antwort des Entwicklers? Wenn er Looppoints in einer Auv3-app anbietet, sollten diese sich auch automatisieren lassen, zumal das ganze Auv3 Konzept darauf angelegt ist, alle Parameter auch von außen steuern zu können. Ansonsten hätte er eindeutig in der Beschreibung darauf hinweisen müssen, dass diese Parameter nicht steuerbar sind. In anderen Apps ist das selbstverständlich, auch wenn das manchmal ob der Fülle zur Unübersichtlichkeit führt. Also nachbessern, damit der Auv3-Standard erfüllt wird! **Developer response:** Loop points are not something you would normally expect to automate remotely, but something configured as part of the preset which remains static since perfect looping takes time to achieve and not something you can do on the fly in real time. ### 2/5 — Mapping samples to keys or pad *2020-05-20* I can’t get into this sampler because when I try to assign a sound to a key, multiple samples play at once. I want one sample on the A key, another sample on B, a third on C, etc and its not working that way. I’m new to this and without clear instructions, either written or video, I’m more frustrated than inspired. And forget about using this in Cubasis. A little help please. ### 2/5 — Not sure how to put this *2020-03-31* You make some great products. Particularly the sample and drum playback auv3. The thing I find really disappointing is the ghost like support. I thought I found your website but it doesn’t list many of these products. I’ve tried contacting you via that website and through the App Store but have never had a reply to my support questions. You can have the best product in the world but if you are not there to help the user it may as well be a pile of dirt. Alternatively I am active on FaceBook under 4PocketsAudio. ### 3/5 — Great app but only single velocity auto-sampling *2025-01-30* That’s a great app overall, especially it is very easy to use to auto-sample synths through MIDI and the quality of the built-in presets. However there is a major limitation that is kinda of a showstopper for me : There is only one velocity level that is sampled. Hence also presets generated with it will play the same no matter the velocity you apply. There should be an update to improve this because in the age where MPE is everywhere, we cannot regress to not even velocity. **Developer response:** The app itself is velocity sensitive as long as your master keyboard is sending velocity. Most of the modern wavetable keyboards only have a single wavetable entry per key. I have Omnisphere 2 and really hoped that it would be created for IOS, but it never will be. Then I found this app and all is well. I can bring my favorite massive Omnisphere pads into my iPad. Thank you!! One request. Is there a way to improve the cross fade to conceal the cross fade point (where it ducks in volume creating a sort of tremolo effect at the cross fade point). I am working on a work around regarding the samples to try to create a more seamless loop point without having to use cross fade at this time. IIA not working? *2020-08-11* Can't really find a way to reach the dev for support, so I'm posting it here. I can't get chameleon to receive audio from any other app through IIA. I tried: -) AUM. Connecting to AUM output, it shows a successful connection in AUM. But chameleon seems to receive no audio, and the record button in chameleon won't click. -) Audiobus 3: chameleon isn't listed as an output option at all in AB3. But I can select "Audiobus intermediate out" in chameleon, however, AB3 doesn't say anywhere that any connection was made (I don't know if it is supposed to say so), and in chameleon, it still seems to be receiving no audio. -) connecting directly to audiokit synth one : inside chameleon, I selected synth one as my source. It says the same "success" message, but still seems to be receiving no audio. If I click monitor button, it warns me about feedback, but no sound is heard from synth one, and the record button still does nothing. So I've tried three different ways to get IIA to be received by chameleon, and none worked. But the dev has been updating this app, so I find it difficult to believe that this problem would be overlooked. Am I doing something wrong? I left 5 stars but if the dev doesn't respond and I can't find a solution elsewhere, I'll probably be back with a different rating. 「(°ヘ°) ### 5/5 — Amazing app! *2020-07-23, version 1.20* Love it! Just what I need for live gig and composing. ### 5/5 — Question, and compliments *2020-06-20* I'm going to start this off by saying that ive purchased 3 bundels of apps from you, and they are by far the best Audio editing plug-ins I have ever used, you get way more quality tools than what you pay for, and these apps are really easy to use even with all the complex effects that they do. they have way more effects than any other plug ins i have ever used, and have the most organized interface i have seen. I have yet to see one of these plug-ins crash in garageband, and the window option on the iphone 10 xs max works great. I can easily change the effects on my instruments, and still hit the piano keys to test out how it sounds. I have never experinced any lag, or clicking noises when messing around with effects on audio samples either. Also for any of you who use the iphone 10 xs max for audio/video editing you may have noticed you phone gets hot alot. ever sinced i started using these plug-ins my phone has not been hot nor has it crashed these plug-ins are just pure quality. Also anybody that deals with their phone getting hot while editing there is a way to fix it if you can live without siri. just go into your setting, and turn of all siri functions on all the apps, including background app refresh on everything expcept E-Mail. It dosent fix it all the time, but your iphone will not get no where near as hot, and alot of times not at all. now on to the question lol, i was wondering if you would be able to make a sampler, such as the sampler in garage band, but instead of when you change the note on the sampler in garageband it either slows the sample down or speeds it up. you can simply set a tempo that the audio loop will follow no matter what note you change the loop to. in short when i go from E0 to E2 i want the sampler to automatically transpose the loop to that note, and I know gargeband has a transpose option, but having to snip an audio loop then transpose it at multiple points gets tedious, and really takes me out of my creative mind state lol thank you- ### 5/5 — Brilliant *2020-02-23* Just great - took a while to fathom some things is there a manual?great app and highly recommended ### 5/5 — 5 stars as the dev was quick to fix the AUv3. *2020-01-08* The AUv3 did not load when multitrack launched (at all) on either AUM, AudioBus or ApeMatrix. Although I haven’t tried ApeMatrix or AudioBus yet, it works just fine with AUM now, which makes me think it’ll probably be ok too with the other two (Although apparently ApeMatrix still has some issues with it but I’m sure they’ll be resolved soon). As for the multitrack recorder AUv3, I was not aware it has been updated (restored my phone a few weeks ago and I forgot to deactivate automatic updates ha!). Sorry about that! I will check whether my issues with it have been solved already or not but thanks for letting me know . I do hope in the future for multitrack we can load several AUv3s of the multitrack that somehow act as a single instance (for multitrack recording in parallel (drums on one track, synths on another... etc).). Although this could be done on separate instances it makes more sense to me to be able to localize all our recordings in the same auv3 instance, it almost turns AUM ApeMatrix and AudioBus onto full DAW! Thanks for the wonderful feedback, it is always the best when a dev keeps up with his clients. I will now make sure I support 4pockets more in the future by buying more of their very accesible plugins which seem to be top quality according to the reviews. **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. I don't seem to be running into the same issues as I'm loading this fine on the iPhone XS Max within AUM, saving and loading sessions. Same goes for AudioBus, but I am aware of issues with Ape Matrix. Are you simply unable to resore a session in AUM with Chameleon being the only loaded app or is it some combination that I need to be investigating? The MultiTrack AUv3 plugin was only recently released and had more updates than I can shake a stick at.
