The visuals are INCREDIBLE. The decoding languages is SO FUN. And the ending: Without spoiling the end, I will say that this game and its narrative changed my life. I am so conscious of the connections I forgo now. Community is so powerful. And beyond that, the political messages were beautiful and wise. I saw a theme in the beginning ish that a civilization will have a dying culture if they are being economically drained by a colonizer. Incredible work showing that message. I am telling all of my friends and family about this game. They give you a free taste test of how the game works, so you can see if you want to invest money in it or not. It costs $7 ish. I personally believe that it ought to cost $20 minimum. I’ve paid more for sandwiches and coffees. These developers deserve to be compensated more for this wonderful work. Challenging but not impossible, clever balance of puzzles and action, and a beautiful story. I did need to use a walkthrough at one or two points, but the game is also set up so that if you are more patient than me and make enough guesses, you’ll be able to keep going. Pretty well adapted for playing on a phone, though the tiny indicator dots for things to interact with are a little tricky to tap sometimes. However, I am leaving a 1-star review for a simple reason: a single player game like this absolutely should not require an internet connection to verify that I have purchased the full game. I purchased the full version, played it a few times, and intended to finish it on my iPad during a long flight— only to be unable to access my save file because I didn’t have internet connection and the game could not verify that I had purchased the full version. Once I purchased the software I should own it! If I could fund a whole second game on my own I absolutely would. I was able to finish this game over the course of a week and I enjoyed every minute of it. It gets challenging but it’s super intuitive and if you think about it for an extra second it will all click into place.
