## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-06-27

What's New in Chapterly

A cleaner Live Activity & Dynamic Island

When you have a reading session running, the Dynamic Island is now much more compact — it no longer stretches across the top of your screen or block your status bar icons (battery, signal, time).
The running session now shows your progress as a small ring at a glance, with the full session timer still available when you press and hold to expand it.
We swapped the old book icon for the Chapterly logo, so it's instantly recognizable as your reading session.
The book cover and title now display more reliably, with longer titles wrapping neatly across two lines.
Reading on your Lock Screen

You can now add Chapterly widgets to your Lock Screen in a few different styles (inline, circular, and rectangular) to keep your current read front and center.
Smarter reading reminders

Fixed an issue where reading reminders could keep nagging you about a book you'd already finished (or deleted). Reminders now always point to the book you're actually reading right now — and if you're not mid-book, they fall back to a friendly general nudge instead.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-03-20

What's New

Friends & Reading Clubs — Connect with fellow readers, send friend requests, follow each other's reading progress, and join reading clubs to read books together as a group with live discussions
Did Not Finish (DNF) — Track books you've abandoned with a dedicated DNF status alongside Want to Read, Reading, and Finished
Monthly Reading Card — Generate a shareable image card showing your books for the month, with cover art and Chapterly branding, ready to post or save to your photos
CSV Import improvements — Import books from Goodreads exports with automatic cover image fetching, status mapping, and progress display
Smart reading reminders — Personalized push notifications based on your current book and reading habits
Performance & stability improvements — Various bug fixes and reliability updates across the app

### 1.3.0 — 2026-03-04

Whats new in 1.3.0

Monthly reading card - Share your reading accomplishments with a beautiful, shareable image card showing all the books you finished this month. Features a dark, elegant design with gold accents and your book covers in a dynamic montage layout. Share directly to social media or save to your photo library.

Improved Reading Sessions - New version handles reading sessions better

Goodreads Import - Users can now import their exported reading lists from Goodreads and directly import them into Chapterly!

Bug fixes and improvements - Improved permission handling for photo library access, layout refinements for book cover displays, and better error handling throughout the app.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-03-01

What's New in Chapterly

Dark mode is now the default — The app launches in a warm, editorial dark theme right from the start, matching the reading-focused experience.

Improved onboarding experience — Better spacing and layout on the welcome screens so nothing feels cramped, especially on smaller devices.

Smoother launch experience — Removed the Apple ID prompt that appeared on every app launch. You'll only see purchase-related prompts when you actually visit the subscription screen.

More reliable subscription management — Behind the scenes, we've significantly improved how we communicate with Apple's servers. Your subscription status (renewals, cancellations, plan changes, refunds) now stays in sync more reliably and securely. If something goes wrong on our end, Apple will automatically retry — so you'll never lose access due to a temporary glitch.

Bug fixes and stability improvements — Various under-the-hood improvements for a smoother overall experience.
