Would give five stars if they did this simple thing. ### 2/5 — Another unintuitive app *2026-06-04, version 3.21.0* So I try to charge my car at Chargefox for the first time. Scan the QR code on the charger screen and I have to download 3Mb of updates for the app that I only install a week ago. Open the app and theres a map of where I am an a bunch of unlabelled buttons. Eventually worked out there is a station number on the charger. Search for the number in the app and it found a charger 600km away with the same number. Why would you use the same number for two different stations??? Scrolling down it gave me other chargers with different stations numbers in the parking lot, why not show the station number I searched for at the top of the list? Found the charger with my station number number and then it wanted to know if I was plugged into port A or B. It’s pitch black so I have to use a torch to find the port. This is an unnecessarily complicated process that has been poorly designed and tested. ### 3/5 — Improvements needed *2026-05-29, version 3.20.0* The application is generally good and reliable. It is however missing Apple CarPlay support which is sorely needed. Would be great to be able find nearby locations since many in-car navigation systems will find all chargers not a particular network. Also would be good to be able to unlock the charger with app using Apple Wallet or again through Apple CarPlay when you get to the charger. ### 3/5 — Live Charging cost / alerting charging owners *2026-03-16, version 3.17.1* Hi I’m wondering if the live costing of the charging can be available on the charging section as well as on the finished charging page of the app as this could be quite useful when connecting to chargers not available on the app (rfid only) Also like the way you can let other drivers know when you plan to leave the charging spot would it be possible to alert owners who are charging that they’ve overstayed a parking limit and are waiting for them to unplug ### 4/5 — Works ok *2026-03-03, version 3.17.1* Not too bad. Nothing blocked on iPhone. ### 1/5 — Not sure what it is or how to use it. *2026-01-21, version 3.15.0* I was told to use two apps, Chargefox and other “government recommended” app. I thought Chargefox would be easy to use. It sees me on the map and nothing else. The other app shows plenty of charge stations around me. I thought I may need to change the filters but they are all on, all of them. My map should be filled with charging stations and there is not one. Pointless app. Doesn’t work and the help function is pitiful. UPDATE - No, this is not a case of the incorrect app. Your app doesn’t work as intended. iPhone 14, iOS 26.1 ### 2/5 — More Frequently Feature Updates Needed? *2026-01-20, version 3.15.0* This company is great what they’re doing and do hope to see grow much bigger faster so we can see more advanced faster charging and equally important app features that should have and long overdue as very far and few updates to app? Also the company needs to generate more revenue whether it be paid charging to improve products and services and stay well ahead to Tesla chargers? A 2.7 rating on App Store isn’t ideal but know this company could be easily be a 4.8+ in the next year with more frequent app updates! Thankyou ### 1/5 — Worst customer service *2026-01-08, version 3.14.3* When things don’t charge, you call, wait forever , they hang up and don’t call back. ### 1/5 — Design… *2025-12-22, version 3.14.3* I’ve been using this app for a while and the core features work okay, but the interface is starting to feel outdated compared to the rest of the OS. It really needs to be updated with Liquid Glass support. Right now, the app feels flat and disconnected from the system's modern aesthetic. Adopting Liquid Glass would add that necessary depth and translucency, making the experience much more immersive and visually consistent with other premium apps. Things like push notifications of charger availability would be a great improvement. ### 2/5 — Woeful app. Woeful service. *2025-12-08, version 3.14.0* Completely unreliable and the service is the worst ive ever encountered from an actual company. The charging station didn’t allow e to update payment details. And when it did the charging station had a fault of all of a sudden! I called the support and they repeatedly hung up on me. And so I was stranded with a bunch of kids unable to do anything. ### 1/5 — Royal Australian Mint now Exploren EV charging *2025-11-11, version 3.14.0* Not a chargefox charging bay anymore Had to sign up with Exploren to charge my Audi to get back to Sydney Chargefox only had 22kw charge area in a few locations Fast Charging gone. ### 3/5 — App wouldn’t load *2025-10-23, version 3.14.0* I went to charge my car for the first time today and found the app wouldn’t load. In the end I had call support and they had to start the charge from their end. I was told to make sure I had the latest update but I’ve only just down loaded the app and joined. Hopefully I do t call to call them every time. Once started it actually worked really well.. ### 1/5 — Useless - update credit card *2025-10-12, version 3.14.0* When your local council uses only Chargefox and its app decides that perfectly valid credit cards have expired, then Chargefox is no better than a useless rock. App never worked reliably from day one. Please fix your bugs with Ai not keep updating with garbage in. ### 1/5 — Double billed me for simultaneous charge *2026-04-24, version 3.18.1* I was billed for 2 different charges at the same time. I raised the mistake with support and they agree that it was physically impossible for me to be charging my car at 2 chargers simultaneously - but they plan to keep the money saying I must have selected the wrong charger initially and have paid for someone else’s charge. The app did not show 2 chargers happening simultaneously - and did not show a charge continuing after I left. It’s a pretty poor design if you’re going to charge me for a simultaneous charge - but the app can’t even show that happening (and is obviously a mistake) ### 1/5 — Chargers don’t work *2026-04-24, version 3.18.1* Awful experience. No issue with my internet. This is an issue that is not acceptable! ### 1/5 — Poor and faulty *2026-03-25, version 3.18.0* The charging stations on this app are regularly out of service and faulty. The platform and developer says that they don’t own the infrastructure - however they should force charger owners to fix their chargers within a certain time if they want to remain on their platform!! Where’s the enforcement of an SLA? ### 1/5 — Bad service not a bad app *2026-01-30, version 3.15.0* I’ve tried calling chargefox but they say it’s up to individual location owners which makes it really hard to lodge issues. Chargefox basically never works, don’t bother with it. It’s been YEARS and even after “upgrades” they’ve added 50Kw hour new chargers to Euroa and Barnawartha. Thats SO SLOW - it takes like 90 minutes minimum to charge. I would love an alternative to Tesla but my goodness Chargefox is unreliable and when it does work it’s far too slow. It’s also the like 6 years now, I’ve lost all hope they’ll function as an actual improving company. ### 1/5 — Unintuitive, in the least *2026-01-26, version 3.15.0* While charging apps tend to follow a similar style to perform the simple task of turning on the power, ChargeFox is not intuitive to anyone that has used any other app or ever charged an EV. Instructions in the app and on the charging devices is brief and confusing. The app would be more perfect if it was possible to access the app via Apple Watch so one can have both hands free for handling the cable. ### 4/5 — Notifications *2026-04-04, version 3.18.0* The app is very useful overall, but one key feature that would significantly improve the user experience is real-time notifications for charger availability. Currently, I have to keep checking the app repeatedly to see if a charger has become free. While the amber and black icons indicate whether a charger is occupied or available, this still requires constant manual monitoring, which isn’t practical.
