### 2/5 — Poor road trip functions

*2026-08-24, version 7.2.0*

It works for my home charger. However, it is useless when on the road looking for a charger while on a long distance drive.

### 1/5 — Worst charging app available!

*2026-08-21, version 7.2.0*

This app makes me regret my car completely, absolutely unreliable, delete my account information or doesn’t recognize it half the time. This system should be removed and replaced by all businesses.

### 2/5 — The New UX

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

Is a visual downgrade, where the written address of the station is less prominent than it used to be. Switching away for a while.

### 1/5 — New App Sucks

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

New app sucks, too many bugs, not connecting, needs fixing.

### 1/5 — horrible

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

horrible app, especially if the stations is available for use but not appearing in the app, so I tapped my phone to the station for charging without an account. it charged my card but didn’t charge the car at all, and there are 4 separate authorization hold on my card $200 total.

### 1/5 — Horrible Service

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

As long as you don’t have to talk to anybody or ask for help, the system may work or it may not work for you

but definitely don’t expect help. I’ve opened multiple service tickets and they closed them or mark them resolved and no one ever follows up with anything other than we’ll get back to you.

### 1/5 — Developer team should be fired

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

Forced to sign in to ChargePoint app AGAIN. The developer team clearly does not use their own app to charge cars on a daily basis because the UI SUCKS, now I have to zoom in on a map each time to find nearby chargers

### 1/5 — Update too busy

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

The waiting list in the latest update is not efficient. you can be 10th on the waitlist, while looking at a dozen open chargers, and it won’t let you start any of them.

### 2/5 — Widget Broken

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

App has worked fine for the last few updates, but this update has broken the widget. Please fix this.

### 1/5 — Slow, unreliable spyware

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

This was a terrible app whose marginal utility has now been rendered utterly useless by requiring re-authentication every few hours.

### 3/5 — Multiple issues with stopping charging

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

The app looks better than the previous version. However, there are multiple issues with stopping charging sessions. It also logs you out periodically and you need to find your login/password information in order to make it work that makes it inconvenient.

### 1/5 — Can’t use

*2026-08-20, version 7.2.0*

After update I am unable to charge. The app is requiring that my payment method be verified. I have added a card, I have switched multiple cards with Apple Pay, and I still get the notification. The app won’t let initiate a charge.

Apple CarPlay app is useless as well. It won’t locate chargers anywhere near me. It will show chargers that are fifty or one hundred miles away. It asks me to log in.

### 1/5 — Waste of time and money

*2026-08-19, version 7.2.0*

This company is waste of your time!!! the app takes 10-15 minutes every time I’m trying to start charging. Authorizing lasts forever sometime it said failed to connect sometimes someone using the charger. You newer know can you charge your car today or not. Keep away from it!

### 1/5 — TERRIBLE IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

*2026-08-18, version 7.2.0*

Using this app/product is like playing Russian roulette each time, you don’t know whether it will work, whether the product will show up, if there is an issue, no idea how to fix it, who to reach out to. No idea how this is supposed to be an alternative to Tesla Charging. I have this in my apartment but it NEVER works. Just got to get used to charging at a supercharger station.

### 1/5 — App is buggy

*2026-08-18, version 7.2.0*

Can’t create an account because I keep getting a (failed to decode) error. Can use app.

### 1/5 — Terrible App After Update

*2026-08-18, version 7.2.0*

1. If you snooze on your notification then rejoin, the accept time is displayed wrong and will error out. Some times it is 2 min to accept some times it is 25.

2. The UI looks like hot garbage now.

3. It is way too easy to cancel your charge session. I opened the app to start a charge session somehow left the queue entirely. This was after accepting the charge station and being in front of the charger. I have not had this issue in over 6 years of using the app.

### 4/5 — update 8/16/26: now works on iPad!

*2026-08-16, version 7.2.0*

Update 8/16/26: After seeing a recent review that the newest updates now works on the iPad I had to test it myself. Updated the app, log in, and it works! At Home tab now shows my charger and settings. Activity tab shows the stats of my charging since it was installed. Account tab actually shows my account and not the endless cycle of logging in.

Thank you for first for reading and responding to reviews and second for resolving this issue. Rating updated to reflect these fixes.

Previous review below FOR REFERENCE ONLY. As far as I am aware of these issues have been addressed.

============

Review from July 2026: First off props to the very helpful and patient tech support guy who was also very confused about this issue.

I was trying to set up a new home charger but could not do so on the iPad. I can download the app, I can “log in” successfully, but the app keeps saying I am not logged in and the option to log in persists even after correctly entering my email/password. When I go to the “At Home” section of the app in trying to set up the home station it was black, blank, did not show any buttons to set up a charger or to buy one.

The tech guy asked me to borrow someone else’s device, which happened to be an iphone, and everything in the app worked as it should. I could log in, see my account, go to the “At Home” and see the option to set up the new charger, and it all went smoothly.

For reference the iPad is newer, an M16 2025, and is fully up to date (currently iOS 26.5.2). Issues on iPad persist: prompts me to log in but never registers me as being logged in (again the credentials worked on the iphone and showed my account after logging in) and the At Home section is blank, just a black screen with noninfo.

### 1/5 — What happened at 7.x and later?

*2026-08-15, version 7.2.0*

Since upgrading to version 7.0.5 the app has made a great decline in its usability from previous versions. This is disappointing as the ChargePoint app was one of the best charging apps out there and now has become one of the worst. Typically ChargePoint stations are very reliable, and I can depend on them, but this app has made finding the stations and the charging experience much worse. Bring back the better experience, please.

### 1/5 — App missing feature

*2026-08-14, version 7.2.0*

- when report a problem you can only take a photo on the spot but cannot select from photo album, so if I walk away from the charger already I can’t upload my photo, makes it very hard to be useful.

- also if I consumed 0 key due Tod effective charger it should automatically waive the session fee but no I get charged for the session fee and had to call to get it refunded .

### 1/5 — Charger location

*2026-08-14, version 7.2.0*

This update removed an icon to display locations of chargers ?. Needs a bug fix

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cannot access receipts

*2026-08-26, version 7.2.0*

I appreciate the new visuals on this version however, I’m unable to view receipts. Whenever clicking on a receipt it states that I am not authorized to view this page. Really frustrating bug.

### 1/5 — Sign in problems

*2026-08-25, version 7.2.0*

Every time I open the app, it makes me sign in again.

### 1/5 — New Update Doesnt Work

*2026-08-25, version 7.2.0*

Cannot charge my car after the new update

### 1/5 — Horrible update

*2026-08-25, version 7.2.0*

Logs out regularly, doesn’t pinch and zoom, can’t search for location properly, fails while adding to waitlist. Can name 99more. Haa to be the worst update for an already horrible app

### 1/5 — New Summer Update Broken

*2026-08-25, version 7.2.0*

I use a Home charger and ever since the new UI update, it’s been giving me issues. Sometimes I can’t charge until I replug my car 2 or 3 times which sucks because I have spotty data near my charger. So I’ll have to plug in, walk to data, see it won’t start, then go back and restart everything. The heck? Why did they change the backend at the same time as a UI update? Annoying.

### 1/5 — Widget broken after update

*2026-08-24, version 7.2.0*

“The ChargePoint network is unavailable. Try later.” The widget worked great for years. Now I get this message most of the time, and I’m constantly being signed out of the app.

### 1/5 — Cannot decode

*2026-08-24, version 7.2.0*

How in the heck am I supposed to get into the app if it tells me it cannot decode my email address? Support told me to wait 24 hours and try it again. Um, I’m trying to charge now!

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-08-23, version 7.2.0*

Tried to charge car. Wouldn’t let u sign up. Added phone number for code and then after first try won’t let u move forward says try again in 24 hours. The worst app I’ve ever used AVOID

### 1/5 — MOST HORRIBLE

*2026-08-22, version 7.2.0*

This is the most awful charging service in existence; something is constantly broken, and you can't even submit a report because that feature doesn't work either.

### 1/5 — Nerfed my charger!

*2026-08-22, version 7.2.0*

I was super happy with my home charger until the latest firmware up update caused it to stop working. I called tech support and they said call back in 24 hours. The next day I tried to log on, and my account had been deleted with my charger still not working. Criminal I say.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App is somewhat useful

*2026-08-14, version 7.2.0*

The app is somewhat useful and I say that because it helps to find a ChargePoint station but it don’t show the percentage of charging when in use.. great app though!

### 5/5 — iPad app is fixed!

*2026-08-05, version 7.1.0*

My previous review was 1 star because most of the things I loved in the iPhone app were non-functional in the iPad versions. Every tab required logging in again. The Chargers and Activity tabs worked, as did the Route tab. Activity didn’t track the price of charges properly - when at all. This now works perfectly! The At Hope tab was a blank screen. It now properly shows my home ChargePoint Flex charger and all the settings. The Account tab was an endless loop in the last version that kept asking for me to sign in again, then would tell me I was already signed in. No account info! This issues has also been fixed! I have upped my rating to 5 stars because the app has been fixed and the developer has addressed each and every issue I had brought up to them. Thank you, ChargePoint!

### 5/5 — Latest update

*2026-07-15, version 7.0.7*

The route planner option does not add charging stations along the route. Would also be nice if this worked with CarPlay

### 5/5 — Love the app and ChargePoint, new update needs some tweaks.

*2026-07-15*

I love chargepoint stations and the app. The app and ChargePoint stations are always very reliable, and having a ChargePoint card in my Apple wallet is a great feature that speeds things wayy up.

My only complaints are about the new app design that was just released. While very pretty to look at, and was clearly very well designed visually, it’s noticeably a bit less responsive on some interactions. I am also really missing the feature where if a location has multiple stalls at it, I could press “Notify me when any plug at this location is available” basically, I used to be able to click this button, and when any of the chargers became available at the location I was at I would get a notification. Now that functionality is gone, and I have to go through and press notify me on all of the plugs. Small inconvenience but it really did make a difference. There is also no longer an option to disable notifications for a spot either.

If you guys could fix just those two things it would be perfect!! Still love ChargePoint :)

**Developer response:** Hello Customer, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Our team is diligently working on enhancements for future updates. We genuinely appreciate your support and patience as we aim to elevate your experience.

### 5/5 — Bring back Dark Mode -edit

*2026-07-08, version 7.0.6*

Please bring back dark mode. The brightness is too much, it is painful to use.

Edit - Thanks for bringing back dark mode.
And I like the new update!

### 5/5 — Latest update

*2026-07-02, version 7.0.5*

The app no longer remembers login information. I have to enter it each time.

### 5/5 — Absolutely amazing brand new design

*2026-07-01, version 7.0.5*

I have loath the old ChargePoint app for its sloppiness confusion and completely aesthetic. This new version basically almost puts it at the very top of my list for app design and definitely something that it’s much more usable.

### 5/5 — Very Useful Management tool for EV

*2026-06-07, version 6.20.2*

Charge Point has provided a useful suite of functions for helping me manage the charge in my LEAF battery. First there’s the no-nonsense data collection at the charger (with my home charging integrated with public charging data). Everything’s accounted for in terms of kWh, which allows me to mentally compute usage reflexively since I know my battery capacity in kWh. The presentation from a central software/hardware platform via the app provides ready perspectives of current charging, monthly totals scaled by cost or energy or distance, and monthly trends for the duration of my relationship to Charge Point. The app makes this user so happy because it so effectively limits “range anxiety”.

in fact, i am so glad to drive my EV. my ChargePoint Flex is a big part of my EV-driving picture.

furthermore, the app is backed up by a really robust firm, that not only manufactures versatile and practical products, but conducts business with best practices and policies that put value in their customers’ hands.

i am not an advertising officer of any kind. i am just an an extremely satisfied customer who has enjoyed every transaction with ChargePoint since the beginning - for me, that is 05/2021.

### 5/5 — Horrible As of Late

*2026-05-27, version 6.20.2*

As other people mentioned, you HAVE to make an account and hand over all your data before you can even plug in for your first charge. Typical Silicon Valley behavior.

Now, the last few times I went to my local charger station and scanned my Apple Pay, it kept giving me an error message like “multiple cards detected” (I only have one debit card linked to my account). So then I decided to scan my actual plastic debit card and they really hit me with a FIFTY DOLLAR FEE! For context I usually pay like five bucks max to charge my BMW i3.

This is just ridiculous and downright predatory. Too bad the other EV charge companies do the same scummy tactics. Just another reason I regret purchasing an EV vehicle!

### 5/5 — Easiest Charging App To Use Hands Down

*2026-01-03, version 6.19.0*

very user friendly and fast. I love how it gives me the cost of each station so I am not surprised once I get to a station.
