### 4/5 — Create a Timer In The App

*2026-07-09*

The app works great, I think there should be a timer added within the app. Say I want to charge for 8 hours… to start and stop has to be done manually. Not every EV has the function built in to set a timer, like how Tesla has. It would be great if the Chargie app had a timer or scheduler. That would really level this app up.

### 1/5 — Increased costs due to tariffs?

*2025-06-11, version 4.1.0*

They raised my apartment charger from .36 to .50 cents to charge cause they are experiencing tariff issues? On top of that a $1 processing fee PLUS 3%???? This company is greedy. Landlords choose ChargePoint instead

### 1/5 — Not a good company

*2025-06-09*

Im goad i stopped using there service. Costs double now to charge your EV. Whats the whole point of an ev if it costs the same as gas. Thats crazy.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're truly sorry your EV didn’t charge as expected—that’s not the experience we aim to deliver. While our support team is available 24/7, we understand how frustrating this must have been. Your feedback helps us improve, and we remain committed to providing a reliable and seamless charging experience.

### 1/5 — Worse Than Gas

*2025-06-07*

My landlord just installed these chargers six months ago. Not only did they get a huge rebate from the state and install them for next to nothing, but they have jacked the price up from $0.35/kwh when they first went online to $0.65/kwh. (You won’t find pricing anywhere online, by the way, because you wouldn’t rent from that landlord if you knew how much it cost to charge there.) They blamed tariffs for the increased electricity costs (since when is our electricity imported from overseas?), but they were already insanely overpriced in the first place. The app is horrible, the pricing model is outrageous, and the business model is, frankly, disgusting. The only customer they care about is your landlord or property owner. I’m counting down the days until I can move out of this place and never use a Chargie charger again.

### 1/5 — 5/2025 Price hike

*2025-05-28, version 4.1.0*

New 99¢ fee every time you charge. AND price increases.

### 1/5 — Excessive Hold, Not Instantly Released

*2025-05-19, version 4.1.0*

Unnecessary $60 hold to account (literally no one does this), then looking at the charge, I may not get that for 2-3 business days. On top of that, this charge has disappeared from the face of the earth. I pay charge, create an account, and unable to access any past or current charges. What's up with this app? I feel bamboozled, when even the sign just says 1. just unplug and charge 2. scan qr code, that's it. When it's a thousand other steps I had to go through, when I'm still out of 60 bucks for a $1.49 charge

### 1/5 — 40% revenue are from penalty

*2025-04-13*

I try to be a responsible user and always set a timer to move my car after charging. But sometimes I forget, especially at night. Chargie charges $5 per hour to park, but if I forget to move my car overnight, I get hit with a $35 penalty. That feels really unfair.

There should not be a penalty for late-night hours when people are asleep and can't move their car. Even if I only forget a few times, the fees are very high. Out of my 55 charges, 3 times I went over and now 40% of my total payment is just penalties. It feels more like a way to make money than to help people charge fairly.

I hope Chargie adds a grace period, better reminders, or at least stops charging penalties during midnight hours. Right now, I’m really disappointed with how this system works.

### 1/5 — No good!

*2025-04-05*

Not a good charging station. They pull out a $15 a month charge which can be at any day anytime. I was charging my car overnight because i had work in the morning, when unexpectedly the charging stopped because they had to pull out the only $13 that was left in the account to cover monthly fee. Now its morning and im left with an uncharged car. Also because they pulled out $13 and the monthly charge was $15, my charging isn’t working at all anymore and the messed up part is they are closed on the weekends so i got no support for all weekend days. In another words, THEY SCREWED ME OVER FOR DAYS!!! I will definitely report this company for causing me pain and suffering and slowing my life down. This isn’t ok

### 1/5 — Charging a processing fee for every reload is crazyyyyyy

*2025-01-21*

Everytime I charged my car they charge a processing fee

### 1/5 — More expensive than gas

*2024-12-19, version 4.1.0*

Requires $15/mo sub to even start paying for the charging. Ends up 2-3x more expensive than gas, how ironic

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2026-04-18, version 4.2.0*

Bad charging stations. Hidden fees. It even fails to recognize when a car is plugged in.

### 1/5 — SCAM

*2026-03-29, version 4.2.0*

Minimum $25 balance add. Scam

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-10-29, version 4.2.0*

Terrible app, terrible service. They obviously paid for app reviews.

Cost is twice the city’s price of electricity, plus 3% service fee, plus $1 to plug in.

For comparison, plugging in for ~3 hours is nearly $7/gallon of gas. That’s twice the price of gas at the station up the street.

### 1/5 — Amazing if you want to overpay for electrons

*2025-09-14, version 4.2.0*

Raised prices due to “inflation”, but I pay my own electric bill and know how much electricity costs. $0.45/kWh is insane, it’s literally cheaper to fast charge while I grocery shop. Just a total scam, claiming state rebates with one and providing cover for landlords with the other. Scummy, slimy, gross

### 1/5 — Delusional

*2025-09-09*

They charge $0.45 per kWh for Level 2 charging, plus an additional $0.99 session fee. That’s nearly the same cost as using a Tesla Supercharger, despite offering slower charging speeds.
I’m not sure who’s the genius who came up with those pricing plans for a barely known L2 charging co.
I’ve deleted my account and deleted the app.

### 1/5 — Overpriced + Hidden Fees

*2025-09-01*

Not only are they charging $0.65/kWh (Tesla superchargers cost max $0.55/kWh) but they add a 3% surcharge plus a session fee!! In addition their chargers at my building charge at a rate of 1kw/hr which would take two days to fully charge!! The experience is abysmal at Dolphin Marina in Marina Del Rey. Chargie should require companies like Greystar to offer fair pricing and decent charging speeds.

### 1/5 — Expensive and Unreliable

*2025-08-08*

App constantly logs you out and charges you an absurd amount.

Requires you to be able have an internet connection, so it can ve difficult to charge your car if this is located underground.

Was already more expensive than superchargers but I was willing to pay for the convenience, but with the new fees it would still be cheaper to charge my car at peak hours at superchargers.

### 1/5 — not worth it

*2025-07-30, version 4.1.0*

Rates at my complex increased to $0.45/kWh PLUS session fee of 3% PLUS .99 cents per session. Much cheaper and faster to drive to a super charger, so that’s what I do instead.

### 1/5 — Pointless app

*2025-07-27*

They keep deleting my account as soon as im done charging and keep refunding me the remaining i have in the account. I cant count how many issues this charging company has caused me and many others i know. Thats why i pay tesla now for charging instead of them. They are more expensive now and it takes forever to charge. Will never use again thankfully

### 1/5 — Super expensive charging, basic app

*2025-07-20, version 4.1.0*

They just hiked their prices to take advantage of the tariff craze. Our per KwH price nearly doubled and they added a dollar fee per session. Greedy! We don’t charge with them anymore.

### 5/5 — FLAWLESS CHARGING

*2026-05-30*

For three years, I’ve lived in my apartment building and Chargie by far has been The #1 most dependable, worry, free charging equipment and app. I used compared to all the rest I’ll since I’ve owned my electric car. (Tesla).

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-03-05*

One of the best EV apps I’ve used. It’s super simple and easy to navigate. So many other EV companies over complicate their apps.

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2024-12-06*

Been using their chargers at my apartment for the last 9 months with no issues, I like that they now offer pay as you go or account balance. Not many other charging companies have the choice.

### 5/5 — Easy, fast & convenient

*2024-12-05*

I have been using Chargie for years and have really enjoyed their service. I’ve spoken to custom service a few times for help and have been connected to live person immediately which I appreciate. The new app has been very user friendly and I like how now I can just hit the recent charge button so makes starting my charge even faster.
